  So we're moved in. Yays! Not unpacked, and truthfully that looks like it's going to take another month at the very least, but we're in. I know I promised pictures but my camera is on the mantel and that is kind of buried by boxes that are at least two thick, likely three or four instead.


I lost count of the number of meltdowns that happened. The number was likely in the triple digits and I can tell you that sometime in the next month I am probably going to just cry for three days straight because of the trauma of Monday night.


A little friendly tip: Do not leave the kitchen to the last minute because you will end up trying frantically to pack up your things at 10PM only to realize it isn't going to happen and you will have to leave things behind that you would really rather not have left.


Also, you will find yourself having to beg your friend to help you pack for half an hour or so and feeling like you're imposing horribly even though you are about one outburst away from the funny farm. Then they will drive you home and the cranky cat will pee on you through the cat carrier and you'll just sit there, trying not to cry because you hate to cry in front of other people.


It will not be fun times, I assure you.



And then you will realize your shower is trying to kill you because it curves in weird ways and you will need one of those anti-slip mats and you will feel old.


Until you buy it and put it in and realize that it looks fabulous along with your bath poof. The peasants rejoice!




I can't wait until I get to reclaim my bookcase that is serving as a temporary desk for the computer. I'll then be able to fully set up Doll Room and the fun can begin. That and getting the boy to reassemble my bed.


Bob, the desk, is likely a goner in his previous form. :( On the plus side, and I'll have you know I am Pollyanna-ing the hell out of things on an hourly basis like it's my JOB, I'll have more space in my room which is good if the October plans work out this year. :D

Aw, nooo! :( I'm sorry you had bad times this week. I hate that frustrated crying overwhelm-y but someone else is with me (it is usually in the car, isn't it?) so I have to hold it in lest I lose my shit in front of another person but maybe I can just lose a few tears to help out and hope they won't notice feeling. Totes understand. What did you have to leave behind??

Having survived a move...I feel you. And you wouldn't have had to beg me for 1/2 hour to do you a solid in this - sure you don't want to move to my corner of hell the south? :P

It is usually the car, or really close to a time when you'll be in a car with someone! Must be one of those universal laws. *nods*


We left behind (as far as I know, it is possible that Tuesday, when they brought the dogs over, they also brought some of this stuff) my dad's trains after going to all the trouble of bringing over the table he built for them, some of my dishes (and a lot of Mumsy's, though some of those she'd been trying to get rid of for awhile) that I'd slowly acquired from Target so it's not a big thing... um, I honestly have no idea what else. Basically if it was in the kitchen, it's entirely possible it didn't end up here. So I guess not a lot, aside from Dad's trains. :/

*grin* To be fair I had to beg for just a minute or three for the help, and the help lasted about half an hour. I'll keep that in mind the next time moving is mentioned. Which I hope won't be for awhile.
