Well that was unexpected

This morning I came home from work and actually stayed up a little bit. (See?) During this time I decided to tackle some of the boxes in the front room. After a bit of dithering about which ones to start with, I decided to begin near the front door. I found a box of Widget stuff, a box for Mums to use in the bathroom, and a box of books that is mostly, if not all, stuff Mums will have to sift through.

Under that I found a box curiously marked, "Marian, BSC Books" in my handwriting. My handwriting from when I was, oh, I dunno, 16.

I opened it up and sure enough it was the box of BSC books I thought someone stole eons ago. It's still not all the missing BSC books, I don't think, but it's a good chunk of them. Like Abby and the Secret Society! I didn't even know I owned that book before I believe the great and powerful luxken27 found a copy for me at her bookstore of Awesome.

So... that was kind of awesome. Also awesome is looking over and on top of the bookcase in here is another copy of The Evil Twin.

The downside is that I remember asking my brother for AGES to go through the eaves in the old office/his den to see if my BSC books were there and every time he said, "nope, not in there" and he actually did go in to look. I know they weren't under mine because I cleared them out more than once so...

They're in pretty good condition, too. A lot of the books we've been finding that were under the eaves for ages (since the boy is apparently incapable of reading "books" on the side of a box) look like things have been nibbling on them and I won't let us dwell on that thought too much. For instance, my copy of one of the Stacey books is going to be sent far away because while the front cover is absolutely flawless, the same cannot be said about the inside pages.

I'm tired, so very tired now. I know I didn't do a lot, but I did make a very small dent and that feels like it should count for something. I should probably go to sleep shortly in case Widget tries to con me into taking him to the pool, grey skies be damned.

If you happen to have an extra copy of Mary Anne and the Haunted Bookstore, would you be willing to part with it? It's my favorite mystery and I haven't been able to find it anywhere (mostly because I hate Ebay and refuse to brave it.)

Hahaha, I'm actually going to go to the bookstore of awesome and win tomorrow, I think! I actually have some cash money, and last time I was there they had an entire wall of SVH books (I hope its still there!). Now that I might have some financial stability again, maybe I can start dropping in more often!

Wall of SVH sounds like heaven. And I say this as someone who has them all and spent three hours earlier in the week putting them away on a bookcase. It still sounds glorious!

I hope you find all kinds of nifty books you not only want but can afford. Huzzah for financial stability!

The Wall of SVH was gone. GONE!! D: I am so completely sadface. It is now longer the secondhand store of awesome and win in my eyes :(

SVH books are so friggin rare, it seems. SVU, too. It's so weird to me!

You need to get them to call you when they rebuild the wall. Surely there must be some way to bribe the employees? Cakes? Pies? Frosty Chugafreezes?

I will never understand why ours stopped accepting any SV because the decent to good condition ones never stayed around for long. Clearly there is a demand for them!
