AG: Isabelle's Accessories
Jan. 19th, 2014 07:36 pmToday I did absolutely nothing of great importance and I plan on continuing that trend this evening and into tomorrow. Partly because by the time I got home this morning, my head was spinning even after I closed my eyes. Partly because I'm avoiding the big crazy family reunion going down at the hospital. (I'm a little worried I haven't heard a single peep though.)
So to take my mind of worries and rooms spinning, we look at the few pictures of my new AG stuff that I managed to take before the camera told me to eff off.
First we begin with Isabelle's Accessories which retail for $30.
I wasn't sure who to put these on since I don't own anything else from Isabelle's collection (yet) and I don't really think I own anything coral to go with the "arm warmers" (my ass!) but then I wandered into my dolltopia closet and spied Lane. Light bulb!

Remember how I said I was an adult? I can see why people might argue that. *cough*

So, we'll zoom a little closer in on the jacket. Like I said, my camera was dying so you got what I could get before it gave up the ghost. Also, I was racing the sun. (My room gets gloriously bright for a few hours and then it magically goes dark without much warning.)

Here's the jacket, zipped, with the collar popped up so you can see the name sewn onto it. I'm choosing to see this as a brand and not an actual name since I don't think I'll have another Isabelle anytime soon. (My Isabelle is a Pullip and she's insane so...)

She's cute, guys. I'm sorry but I cannot help myself.

Unzipped.

Back of the jacket. Sorry it's blurry, but flash was a No Go. This is probably the biggest thing to hold anyone back from buying it if they like everything else. Lane and I don't care but I know it'll tweak some people off to have a dance company logo on the back since it ain't ever comin' off without fucking up the jacket.

Isabelle is the first GOTY to have her stuff tagged so completely. Isabelle labels everywhere, guys! I thought I'd find it really annoying, but on the pieces in this set, I don't really mind. Go figure.

Right "arm warmer". These suckers barely go over her hand (do I have them on the wrong hands?) and come up the wrist but only barely. They're fingerless gloves for dolls, essentially.

Left hand slides on easily, though.

Hair comb is heavy but so very sparkly that I have to love it.

Purse. Velcros up (and you can see the velcro in the shot) and the glitter is encased in plastic so there's no transfer to worry about. :)

Back of the purse has another Isabelle label. This kind of purse wouldn't have anything fun on the back anyway, so I don't mind it.

Overall? I'm pretty pleased with this purchase. :) There's one story of the jacket staining, so I'm going to attempt to remember to take it off Lane when I go up to watch Flowers in the Attic. It's a shame because the jacket is very soft and slides right on and while the zipper does require a bit of finesse to work properly, that could simply be because I'm zipper challenged. :P
I love the purse (it's holding the metro pass and the school ID which aren't pictured because I'm lazy and it's cardboard, guys.) and I'm happy that it goes reasonably well with Saige's pink dress and pimp boots. :) The hair comb is so sparkly and pretty and these three pieces make this almost worth purchase price.
The hand warmers are cute in theory, and probably work very well with the rest of Isabelle's collection (that weird practice top not included) but since I don't have a ton of things for them to go with, it's just a little odd, colorwise. I like the idea and I wish they were a tad easier to put on and a tad longer but it's nothing that fiddling with won't help.
I can't say I'd encourage you to buy this for $30+ shipping, and definitely not for $30, shipping, and tax. Nope. So wait for free shipping or maybe a code if one comes down the pike? I bought it because I wanted that jacket and I worried that they'd do something stupid (like they revamped Kanani's luau outfit pretty early on) with that one girl going on (and on) about the stains, the stains. It's been a week plus and no one else has said anything, so it sounds more like bad luck/user error. I'll let you know if mine mocks me.
Seriously, I love this jacket. I could write bad poetry about it, I think, if I were so inclined.
