When Addy goes out walking in Philadelphia, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories:

A bonnet with a black-and-white gingham ribbon
A patchwork-print bag
A faux cowrie shell necklace brought from Africa by her great-grandmother
Aww, Addy got purse! I wish the accessory sets had more (like the coins of say, yesterday) but I'm glad AG didn't jack the prices up when they cut stuff.





Addy's Outfit

Addy adores this beautiful blue dress—the first dress she ever owned after she and Momma took their freedom! This authentic 1864 outfit features:

A royal-blue print dress trimmed with black ribbon and black bows atop the short bell sleeves
Lacy white pantalettes
Soft white stockings
Black boots with shiny black pretend buttons up the side

Why yes, this is sitting in my shopping bag waiting for me to finish making up my mind on other things. I love Cecile's very similar dress and I think this shade of blue is gorgeous soooo... yup. Also, boots!




Addy's School Outfit

Momma made this beautiful outfit for Addy’s spelling bee at school. It includes:

A sky-blue peplum jacket with bell sleeves and a white Peter Pan collar
A bell skirt with black trim to match the jacket
A pair of matching black velvet ribbons on hair combs
Sweet merciful Zeus, this is my favorite outfit out of the entire BF bunch. I wanted Addy's original School outfit something fierce but it disappeared while I wasn't paying attention all that closely to AG. The color on this is just, egads, Brain. The bows! I love it, I love it, I love it. I hope I don't love it so much that the actual outfit can't live up to expectations.


Addy inherited the NOLA girls' Crinoline and Chemise for $24. AG, you're weird for this. o_O



Addy's Lunch Pail

I will buy this because Sam needs her locket, even if it's not the locket I grew up with.




Samantha's Frilly Frock

Samantha wears this fancy finery when she goes to an elegant ice cream parlor in New York City. It includes:

A shimmery satin dress with a fashionable dropped waist and a three-tiered skirt—it’s trimmed with rows of intricate lace and has a dramatic lavender bow on its sash

I'm dying here because a crapton of people wanted Samantha's new collection to be less 1904 by way of the 1980's. This is a whole 'nother layer of 80's thrown on top! Dyiiiiiiiiing. I want it just for it's weirdness, truthfully. My Sam would never be able to wear the best part (the shoes) so someone else will step up. I'm only not crying over never getting this dress because of my cackling over the Inception level of 80'sness going on here, truthfully.




Samantha's Bicycling Outfit

Proper young ladies wore dresses in Samantha’s day—except when they rode bicycles! Samantha loves the freedom of this outfit, which includes:

Houndstooth-checked bloomers
A pretty white eyelet blouse with long puffed sleeves
A wide straw hat with a grosgrain ribbon
Removable gaiters to help keep her legs from getting dirty
A pink hairbow to pull back her long locks

This one stumps me. I do not look at that blouse and see 1904. I definitely see Julie's era moreso than anything else. Don't mind me, I'll be sitting over here, counting the number of eras that Sam is going to time travel through before we hit something that pings her era for me.






Samantha's Nightgown

A princess-seamed nightie featuring a pretty lace yoke threaded with pink satin ribbon—it’s trimmed with buttons and has a wide ruffle at the bottom
Light-pink mule slippers, which have dark-pink trim and fluffy white pom-poms on the toes

I hate the shoes (although on their own they look cute) but that's because AG pom-poms tend to look stupid in person. This one is growing on me and it's a nice counter to her original nightgown which is far too warm for her living with me.




Samantha's Fancy Coat Set

I'm kind of surprised they didn't make a piece of furniture to house these things "by her bed." I'll be caving on this as it's a lot of things I really liked from her previous collection tied up together.



Jip is supposed to be a Cocker Spaniel. Instead, I say for $22, you can have your very own plush version of Destiny from Mongrels. (Which is not to be taken as a recommendation to watch it. No, it is most certainly not that.)



Sam's Inspired By outfit is another I wouldn't have pegged as hers if I hadn't seen her new Meet outfit.

I'm suddenly torn on Addy's meet dress. On the one hand, I love it. It's beautiful! It would look great on Cecile (and it looks great on Addy and actually makes me want her, when I was always "meh" on her before). But you just said it is similar to Cecile's own meet dress and I realized you were right. That's probably why I like it, because Cecile's meet dress is gorgeous. But she doesn't need two dresses that are very similar. So now I'm thinking that instead of buying the meet dress as a separate I'll go for Addy's school dress instead. And maybe eventually when I have more space Addy herself might come join my gang.

Hrmm. Aside from having both blue and black in the design, I don't see a lot of similarity between CeCe's Meet dress and Addy's new one. I *do* think it's pretty close to a re-color of CeCe's red holiday dress, though, and that one I happily paid full price for shortly after it came out, so having it in blue? Yes please!

Woo for the school dress love! It's so pretty and I just made my order this morning (If you're ordering online there are $10 off $100 purchase codes floating around.) and included it instead of Sam's holiday combo of evil.

Addy's school outfit is the best-looking thing in this post. I'm uber disappointed with the new Samantha collection (this is not the Sam I knew and loved!) altho that neon lavendar outfit is good for the lulz. Hrm...

Seeing these posts did remind me that I snapped a pic of the display at Costco this morning. Anyone for pets? :)
