AG pic-spam, blue holiday dress
Oct. 27th, 2014 12:13 amI kind of apologize in advance: when I'm not at work, I tend to post to LJ way more than usual. This means you're likely to be scrolling by one of my icons a lot and I'm sort of sorry about that.
That said, I believe I owe you lot a couple of reviews on the AG things I picked up recently. We'll begin with the blue dress because it's essentially LE and you might want to pick it up before it possibly sells out. I say possibly because it's been awhile since a holiday dress from AG (not including the store exclusive last year) sold out and that means they tend to wind up on the clearance page. If AG is smart, they'll have adjusted their orders accordingly. But it's also possible that even if they didn't, people looking for colors other than red will be pouncing so who knows.
Anyway. We begin with the Happy Holiday blue dress.
Happy Holiday Dress for Dolls + Charm
Item# BKH55
Her doll will light up the prettiest parties in this sparkly, twirl-worthy outfit. It features:
A deep-blue sleeveless dress covered in sequins with an asymmetrical overskirt, a triple-layered dark-blue tulle underskirt that peeks through, and a satin-ribbon waistband accented by an off-center bow and rhinestone
A pair of sparkly navy-blue shoes with silver ribbon bows
A satin-covered headband with two rows of sequin trim
A round “Smart” charm
No review of the charm because I don't give a damn about them and one of these days I'm going to round them up and sell them or something.
Right off the bat, in case you missed it when Saige was wearing it, I love this dress. I love it so much that I won't even cry the bitter tears of resentment if/when it goes on sale for less than the asking price of $36. It's so very blue and sparkly and it's just... augh, so pretty.
Jade, my MG sorta custom will begin our modeling session just because.
This is actually going to turn out to be less of a review than originally intended because I think I did a bit more review shots with Saige, but I'll try and cover a couple of things I didn't before.
One: I don't like these stupid headbands AG keeps using. They're too small to not start to pop off the doll's head anytime you sneeze or look at her funny, plus there's a fucking huge tag to deal with. :/ I like that it wasn't a bow and they went with sequins but it's still too small to look quite right. Boo. Hiss.
Also, I do wish this came with some tights or something. I get why it didn't come with jewelry (earrings would've been cute) since they want you to really want that bracelet in the accessories set, but it doesn't mean that for $36 they shouldn't have thrown out another piece. As it is, the price covers a dress, a pair of shoes, and a crappy headband.
But that dress.
Oh. That dress.
*swoons*

I don't know what the hell happened here. I can only assume Ozma decided to help me out because why I would intentionally do some crappy Etsy shot, I couldn't tell you. (Btw, I hate Etsy shops who do this as their only picture or only type of picture. It's fine for showing detail but I'm going to need a full shot or something, not just pieces of the puzzle.)

Sequin squiggles! But also this kind of highlights the hem which I know some people hate but I love so there you go.

The shoes are precious, yes. Yes they are.

Like I said, that headband kept popping up and I eventually yanked it out of her hair.

Sparkles!

Jade, sadly, doesn't seem as lovely in it as I'd hoped so she'll be searching elsewhere for holiday finery.

And... I swear I took more of #50 wearing this but I can't find a single one that isn't blurry

or part of

a group shot.

Dammit!
That said, while it looks pretty on #50 (she needs a name! Come on, names!) it's not my favorite on her so we'll be looking into the pile o' holiday dresses for hers this year, too. Saige might just run away with this, actually.
Finally:

Jade has seen things... Terrible things. She knows that the Ozma cat hunts doll shoes, she just didn't know Ozma would hunt the doll wearing them, too!
(Ozma didn't, she just wanted to sniff Jade.)
So yeah, that wasn't really a review of anything but the headband I never could get a clear shot of. D'oh.
Ah well. It's pretty and I like it and sparkles. The only real drawback is the price, but there are codes out there for free shipping over $100 if that's your thing.
Next time an actual review of Samantha's new holiday dress set!

Date: 2014-10-30 01:27 am (UTC)As for names...I have books and books of names. It's the only way to go when you have characters floating around in your brain, LOL. Sometimes its fun to just sit down and page through them to see what pops out at me. Maybe hit up the library during your leisure time this week? :)
BTdubs: I certainly do not mind having more of your posts on my f-list! It makes me feel like a crappy LJ friend, but on the same token, now I have lots of posts to read all at once! :D
