Mystery Doll Sheds Mystery

I believe I teased a ~Mystery~ doll, yes? But then Grace happened (and we'll be circling back to her) and then Christmas and uh, I spent all of yesterday asleep. I think, not counting work, I was awake for three hours total yesterday, and most of that was food related. :P

Anyway, I think it's time to solve the mystery!



Who could it be? Who? Who? Who let the owl in? (Funnier when you realize there are a zillion on Mumsy's Christmas tree.)

Boxed doll is still mostly boxed.


The reason I didn't feel safe deboxing her until I was ready to actually spend some time on it. You know the cat would take an unhealthy interest in this.


Yes, that is supposed to be there.


It's blurry, but here you can see that Kaya has highlights in brown and that her hair isn't just black. Reddish brown that is.


The only initial downside is that her hairnet came wrapped around/under her braids so you have to cut that sucker out or you'll really do a number on her hair.

It's a new outfit! Second issue is that the velcro on Kaya's outfit snags her braids. Are you serious, AG? I mean, seriously?


Kaya promptly sat down and watched four episodes of Golden Girls with me. I think you'll fit in fine here, kiddo.


I went with Kaya for a few reasons. One, I really didn't want another of those MyAG meet outfits. Two, I figured Mums was right when she suggested that if they really did change Kaya, now would be the time to get her in case they pulled an Addy and just repackaged the old dolls.

I couldn't tell you any difference between my Kaya and pre-BF Kaya but I'm not as well versed in Kayas soooooo... take that however you need to. Her hair is awfully soft and I thought the braids would be tighter but they're actually pretty loose.

She looks cute in moddie clothes! I wonder if you unbraided her hair how long it would be? I know with Josie when her hair is braided it falls to her waist and unbraided reaches her butt. Would Kaya's reach the floor then??

I'm thinking it's probably the same (or close) to Kanani's but without the curl, so knee length, with bits being a smidge longer due to the braids. It'll likely be awhile before I find out for sure on my own Kaya, but not as long as I originally thought if her outfits keep snagging on her braids.

Yay! I'm thinking she and I are going to start at the begining of S1 tonight and work our way through the series. I might've started with the Christmas episode before. ;)

And randomly related, but it was the Christmas of GGs! Just not all Golden Girls. I got the final season of Gilmore Girls and one of the seasons of Gossip Girl, too. You started a GG trend!
