Shopping sucks

The universe is messing with me. >_< I've been waiting on my refund to buy new pants for work and new shoes. The pants are a bit more pressing but the shoes are pretty important, too. I think the last three times I've bought shoes, I've bought the same kind of Skechers. They're not perfect, but it's pretty fool proof and they're great until, y'know, they aren't. And even then they're not bad.
Sooooooo... I went looking for my shoes today and the universe had a good long laugh. Nope. So... is this in between season on shoes or do I need to go and figure out a new pair of shoes? I just don't know.
The pants also laughed. "We've got your size, in the style you want. Thing is, we only have it in Petites." So technically not my size because I am in no way funsize, dammit.
I looked at a million pairs of pants (a lot had to be ignored because I am not wearing glorified leggings to work) and any that passed the material test and the non elastic waistband test all failed the size test. Are you kidding me?
Eventually I bought a pair I'm reasonably certain will fit and since there was a "spend 75 and get $25 off or spend $100 and get $40 off" deal, I threw in a sweater I may regret and some socks and it's about the same as what I would have paid without getting them. So we'll see how that goes.
Still need shoes but today is very clearly not the day for that since my headache keeps playing peekaboo with me.

I loathe buying clothes, especially since there is no such thing as standard sizing. So I feel you :-/ I'm surprising you guys don't have uniforms, honestly.
Shoes I have some experience with :) I've had really good luck with my two pair of tennis shoes (one for exercising, one for working) and they are on track to last more than their usual six months. New Balance is really good, especially if you need solid colored shoes for work. Uber good, and you can usually find a deal on the solid white ones bc they are not fashionable :P For example.

Shoes! I knew you'd have ideas on this front. :D
