If you ever wondered what color combination I loathe more than pink and yellow, it is pink and orange. Pink and orange ALWAYS reminds me of vomit, which is probably the last association one wants made in fashion.

Sparkle Spa Robe
Item# CHD42 // $24

Help her doll feel her best in this plush aqua robe! It has a shimmery contrasting collar, cuffs, and belt tie. The pockets are snug and toasty, and the back has a pretty embroidered graphic. Includes two pink hairbands to hold her locks back while she's having spa treatments.

Egads that looks soft. I... kinda want.

Soccer Team Outfit for Dolls
Item# CHD43 // $38

Her doll is ready for game time in this colorful set! It includes:
A white V-neck soccer jersey with shimmery stars cascading across the front
Bright-pink sport shorts with matching purple ribbon-trim stripes on the right side and her player number on the left
White shin guards
Green knee-high socks
White-and-pink soccer shoes with "cleats"
A sporty green headband
A starry doll-sized soccer ball

Oh, look, there are the cleats! And I know the doll this is shown on is blonde, but all I'm seeing is Abby from the BSC. Soccer=Abby, despite the year of being forced to play goalie every recess because some idiot thought I'd be good at it. (Hint: Your goalie's first inclination when seeing a ball should not be to step aside to neatly avoid a collision with her face.)

None of which says anything about the outfit itself, huh? It's cute, it's sporty, and I dig the ball. I'm not a fan of lime green with pink (I don't like a lot of things with pink, huh?) but I wouldn't be appalled to find this as a gift. I just won't be buying it myself, that's all.

Sparkly Jazz Outfit for Dolls
Item# CHD45 // $34

Your girl can get her doll ready for the spotlight! This fun outfit includes:
A bright-red dance dress with a sequined bodice and stretchy shorts attached underneath the two-tiered ruffled chiffon skirt
Sparkly fingerless gloves to add pizzazz
A glittery golden neckband
A chiffon hair accessory
Glittery golden jazz shoes

Oh, sweet Jesus, no. I thought it might be fun in a cracktacular way when I saw the itty bitty thumbnail but upon closer inspection, no. In a weird way I think she'd look less naked actually being naked. o_O But that's not really my issue, though it doesn't help. Nope, I don't like/love outfits that show the cloth torso a lot and this shows the arms and neck and not to any good sort of fashiony way. I dig the gloves and I like this shot:

Sunshine Gardening Bench Set
Item# CHD50 // $68

Watch her love of gardening "bloom" with this sweet doll-sized gardening bench set! It includes:
A purple-and-white wooden bench
A watering can and spade that can hang on hooks on the bench
Clusters of pink flowers and orange flowers that fit easily into two clumps of pretend soil with cute little decorative worms—the soil fits into the two flowerpots
A pink birdhouse with an attached pretend bird that can be placed on the table or upper shelf of the bench
Two make-believe seed packs
Three printed paper butterflies with folding wings
A sheet of dome-shaped ladybug stickers that can be attached and repositioned on any of the bench accessories
A beehive in a case that dolls can really hold, with pretend bees and honey that can slide out of the case

Okay, this is adorable and if I didn't have space issues, I might actually want it. I mean, the honey slides out! Ladybug stickers! Fake worms! Purple! It's so cute I'm gonna die. But I do have space issues so it will stay in the store.

Sunshine Garden Outfit for Dolls
Item# CHD47 // $30

Your girl can get her doll ready to enjoy sunny-day activities with this fresh outfit:
A bright pink knit top, featuring an asymmetrical neckline with a decorative tie at the left shoulder, a cap sleeve at the right shoulder, and printed flowers in the bottom corner
Colorful canvas plaid shorts with rounded front pockets
Green vinyl sandals with decorative buckle detailing
A purple faux-flower hair elastic

Oooh, so close AG. But asymetrical sleeves? It looks like one was torn off and she just couldn't bear to throw it away so she kind of created an odd solution and her parents just let her run with it. I dig the shorts and the shoes though. So close!

Beachy Hair Beads for Dolls
Item# CHD52 // $15

She can give her doll a beachy 'do! These two strands of clip-in hair beads hang from pink flower barrettes that are easy to snap on and off for a bright pop of color.

I'm pretty sure you could just do this yourself for cheaper. Also pretty sure you can hear the chorus of, "Damn, white people..." being uttered. I haven't checked the fandom, but I'd bet a lot.

Boho Beachy Swimsuit for Dolls
Item# CHD46 // $28

Dolls can have fun in the sun with this medallion-printed swimsuit! It features an aqua ruffle that wraps around the back. Three colorful beads decorate the left strap for a playful twist, and the purple sandals with stretchy beaded ankle straps complete her summery look.
Those shoes are going to leave interesting tan lines. Or would, y'know, if she were a real kid. Also, those beads on the shoulder wouldn't last for long on a real suit but for dolls you don't have to worry about peeling a wet suit off or trying to slither into one. Enh. I don't really go in for the swimsuits so it's a thing with interesting shoes.

Pretty Plié Ballet Outfit for Dolls
Item# CHD44 // $34

Perfect for dolls that adore dancing! She'll be ready for ballet class in this pretty mix-and-match outfit:

A chic black leotard

Knee-high knit legwarmers
A light-pink wrap sweater
A satiny faux-wrap skirt
A pink hair accessory to sweep back her hair while she practices

Pretty Pink Tutu Set for Dolls
Item# CHD49 // $28

Dolls will be ready to leap onstage with these ballet performance accessories. Your girl can lace up her pretty satin ballet slippers, then slip on her pink tulle tutu. It has a sprinkling of silvery accents on the top layer. With a doll-sized metal rhinestone tiara hair comb, she's ready for the big show!

Doll sold separately.
Leotard and tights sold separately.

I'm sorry, what? You're showing these two on the main page like they're one set and then you read the fine print and you realize that everyone who immediately threw the cheaper of the two options into their cart and ran (because of course the site is buggy as hell this morning) is getting a tiara, a sparkly tutu, and some kinda ugly shoes.

Oh, AG. Your desperate money grabs just make you look, well, desperate. I do want the first set, though, and I'd imagine that one will sell well for the hordes of Izzy dolls out there.

Shimmer & Lace Party Dress for Dolls
Item# CHD48 // $30

Just right for a springtime celebration! This beautiful sleeveless peach dress is covered in lace and is dotted with peach sequins. It has an asymmetrical drop waist with a chiffon-and-mesh flower accent, plus a mesh ruffle just beneath the scalloped-edge skirt. The outfit comes with a matching pair of pink peep-toe shoes with chiffon flower accents and crisscross straps at the ankles. A silvery rhinestone hair accessory completes this sweet look.

I'm going to need to see this on someone who isn't peach colored to really decide. I do think that the peach sequins might be a bit of an issue on placement because you might end up with some accidental dolly nipplegate going on there baed on the side view image there. Which is weird to type, just so you know. This is, btw, the Easter/Spring dress for the year. I think it's pretty, I just want to see it on other dolls first.

BeForever:

Josefina and Caroline get jack. Descrimination against the 1810's girls!

Now, buckle your seatbelts because AG's got some crazy going on here.

Modern Fancy Shawl Outfit
Item# CHG88 // $48

Special edition set! Available only through Dec. 31, 2015, or while supplies last.

This set is just like the outfits that dancers wear at modern-day powwows. It includes:

A red satin dress with long sleeves and two rows of satin ribbon trim
A matching fancy shawl with long fringe on three sides, intricate embroidery across the length of the back, and thumb loops so that dolls can hold onto the edges just like real dancers
A faux-leather shoulder drape and boots that are both embroidered to match the shawl, and have matching ribbon trim
Headwear that features an embroidered patch on a comb with a feather accent

Oh, look, the outfit from yesterday! Not the curve ball, btw. The outfit is lovely and I suppose it earns the pricetag that the others command because of all the embroidery going on. It's beautiful and it might come home for my Kaya. It might not. We'll see.

Now...

Modern Jingle Dancer Outfit
Item# DHY61 // $46

Modern-day girls from the Nez Perce tribe often dress in beautiful garments like this one for pow-wows. This set includes:

A bright-pink satin dress with long cuffed sleeves, an embroidered belt, and two rows of metal jingles attached to ribbon—they make beautiful sounds when the dancer moves
Knee-high turquoise boots with embroidered flowers
A feathered hair comb and two embroidered hair ties

Wait a second... isn't this just Kaya's Jingle Dress of Today without the drum part of the set that was originally $64 and failed to sell out last year? Why yes, yes it is.

Huh. Well, you say, maybe people just didn't feel like investing $64 in a pink dress for Kaya. Let's move on to Addy.

Special Edition Addy's Dress & Sewing Set
Item# CHG87 // $48

(All the Special Edition Sets are only available through Dec. 31, 2015 or while supplies last.)
Addy loves when she can spend time helping Momma in Mrs. Ford's dress shop. Help your girl set the scene for Addy with this set:
A bright woven check dress with a full skirt, simple gathered bodice, and short bell sleeves—popular styles in Addy's day
A crisp white pinafore with purple grosgrain trim and patch pockets for carrying her sewing supplies
Soft white stockings
White canvas lace-up boots with shiny black toe caps
Measuring tape
Pretend sewing scissors that open and close
A cute bird-shaped pincushion that Addy can really hold

Aww, lookit the little accessories. Addy, you're still killing it with this set. The moment we get a code, I'm going to scoop this set up.

Moving along...

Rebecca's Seashore Set
Item# CHG86 // $48

In Rebecca's day, swimsuits looked very different than they do now! Her 1914-style beach set includes:
A purple tunic-style swimsuit with contrasting pink trim on the V-neck, a contrasting belt, and crisscross detailing with buttons on the sides
Snug-fitting bloomers
A pair of matching lace-up swimming boots
Cuffed calf-high socks
A slouchy pink knit hat with a brim to help shade her face and a cute bow accent on top
A folding beach chair
A postcard so Rebecca can share her seaside fun

As an outfit for someone other than Rebecca, I love this. I think it's probably the best value for the price they're charging since you get a chair and a cute little trinket in addition to the outfit's numerous pieces. I have every intention of bringing this home and not just so one more doll can sit her duff down. No shame!

Rebecca's Butterfly Costume
Item# DHY59 // $42

When she acts in her school play, The Butterfly Queen, Rebecca gets to wear this fantastic costume:

A brocade dress with satin sleeves, plus a long train that attaches in back—it even unfolds to reveal beautiful butterfly wings!
A golden butterfly headband
Satin shoes to complete her queenly ensemble

Rebecca's Stage Makeup
Item# DHY60 // $28

Rebecca loves the spotlight, and your girl will have fun getting her ready for her acting debut with this 1914-style stage-makeup set. It includes a makeup box with a bristled brush that she uses to apply the make-believe powder and rouge, plus a printed program to keep as a souvenir of her starring role.

Rebecca's School Play Set cost $64, but buying the components seperately will cost you $70. But I sincerely doubt that people are going to look at this and think, "I should totally buy her Seashore set now so I don't have to pay another $6 next year!"

*facepalm* Let's keep going and I'll properly vent at the end.

Kit's Chicken-Keeping Set
Item# CHG84 // $48

Kit knows you should never count your chickens before they hatch—she learned that from Aunt Millie. Your girl can help Kit chase troublesome hens around the coop with this set:

Blue checked overalls with a shaped waistband and crisscross straps with pink buttons
A button-down floral shirt
A matching hairbow
Buckled brown shoes
A cute little plush chicken with an embroidered face and a soft weighted body to help her sit upright.

Egads, chicken! I was placing a very small order this morning when I noticed the Valentine's shirt was on sale online and not just the stores. This was the outfit I considered throwing in before sanity came rushing back and said, "Hold yer damn horses, woman. The Easter codes should be out sooner or later." But... chicken! *grabby hands*

And yes, this means...

 photo DHY57_main_2_zpsbplzo7k6.jpg
Kit's Springtime Outfit
Item# DHY57 // $28

She'll love dressing her Kit doll for springtime fun in this pretty outfit. It features a fancy pink dress with a sheer yoke, a tiered skirt, and a satin bow across the waist, plus shiny pink T-strap shoes to match.
If you wanted Kit's dress from last year's set, it's available on its own, too! And cheaper than both Becky's and Kaya's.

 photo DHY58_main_2_zpsyzgxx2ly.jpg
Kit's Homemade Sweets
Item# DHY58 // $42

Girls can have hours of fun pretending to help Kit make sweet spring treats with this 1930s-style set:

A make-believe double boiler that's perfect for "melting" the two pretend chocolate squares from the candy box
A spoon that Kit can use to mix the chocolate before pouring it into the candy mold
Three pretend chocolate bunnies
Three sheets of netting and three satin ribbons to wrap the bunnies
A pretty basket rimmed with fabric flowers to carry the treats

Clearly the accessories are what jacked up the price for this set last year. But also available on their own if that's your thing.

And now on to Julie...

Julie's Skateboarding Set
Item# CHG83 // $48

When Julie is ready to roll in San Francisco, she wears this outfit:
A comfy music-festival tee with red raglan sleeves
Her favorite sport shorts with rainbow stripes on the sides
Knee-high athletic socks with colorful stripes at the tops
Two-tone blue shoes that are great for playtime
Slim '70s-style skateboard with wheels that work and an elastic strap on top to help Julie stand

I want this. So much. You have no idea. I don't even really know why other than I had some similar stuff and this is one of those weird 70's/early 80's looks that I adore. NEEEEEED.

Julie's Funky Flower Outfit
Item# DHY55 // $34

Your girl can dress Julie for the school dance in groovy '70s style! This colorful outfit includes a flower-print dress with a stand collar and a macramé belt, plus white patent knee-high boots.
Those boots are one step closer to being mine since they're no longer bundled with a disco ball and a bunch of paper. So close...

 photo DHY56_main_2_zpsmdrf7ijm.jpg
Julie's Disco Accessories
Item# DHY56 // $34

Your girl can imagine that her Julie doll is attending a disco-themed school dance, just like in the 1970s! This set includes a doll-sized ticket and poster for the dance, plus a mirrored disco ball that really lights up and spins at the touch of a button to make the dance floor sparkle.
Oddly enough, even when split up ($68 if you bought them both today), this seems like a better value even though you're paying $4 more. Huh. The power of insane price points, eh?

Julie's Mix-Print Maxi Dress
Item# CHH73 // $28

The height of summery '70s style! Julie will be ready for a sunny afternoon on Fisherman's Wharf with everything here:

A tiered tie-back halter dress with bright colors and patchwork prints
A headband woven from different shades of purple and shimmery metallic threads
A chunky cuff bracelet
A long beaded necklace on a faux-leather cord
Strappy faux-leather sandals

Whoa, whoa, wait. Where'd that come from? And also how can I send it back? The print is so busy... getting dizzy...

Meh. They got rid of Julie's birthday dress and replaced it with this. I like the jewelry and the shoes, but the dress is just an awful lot for my delicate eyeballs. :P But that price, I do approve of it.

Which leaves...

Samantha's Flower-Picking Set
Item# CHG77 // $48

Spring is the perfect time for Samantha to fill the house with flowers! This sweet set includes:

A pale pink dress featuring a fold-over collar with frilly lace trim, a satin waistband with a side bow, and a printed sprinkling of dark-pink flowers
A pair of soft black stockings
Two-tone buttoned boots
A satin hairbow
A basket of pretend flowers

It's vaguely less hideous today, but you cannot tell me that Grandmary wouldn't have had non-black stockings in rotation for this dress. You just cannot tell me that. And I figured out the other thing that bothers me about this. The neckline (it looks like a turtleneck) seems at odds with the 3/4 length sleeves and heavy stockings. Plus I think turtlenecks are awful so anything that reminds me of them is evil. Meh to this. Sorry, Sam, but it's a good thing I'm not a completist.

Samantha's Travel Bag Set
Item# CHG78 // $28

When Samantha goes to Piney Point for the summer, she packs for adventure! Like real ones from 1904, her deep-pink suitcase is made of patterned carpet fabric. It has faux-leather handles and a touch-closure buckle. And of course, a proper lady always wears her white satin gloves when she goes out.

Those are mittens. Gloves have fingers. I do love that bag, however.

Samantha's Travel Coat & Hat
Item# CHG75 // $32

This long pink coat is perfect for Samantha's springtime outings! It has puff sleeves, a deep shawl collar with satin lapels, and three contrasting pink buttons. Her faux-straw hat adds the perfect finishing touch with its pink ribbon and flower accents.

Huh. I stand corrected. With this over the flower picking dress, I don't mind the dress's neckline. So maybe it's the combination of the lace and the neckline. It doesn't matter much because I think this coat is to die for. I want. I will have. It will be mine. I'm only sorry that it will likely not fit my Samantha. :(

Samantha's Painting Set
Item# CHG79 // $36

Just like her mother did, Samantha loves to paint outdoors. This doll-sized painting set was designed after real ones from her day, and includes:
An easel
A pretend paint set
A palette
A paintbrush
Her finished product: a beautiful watercolor painting of a butterfly!

Enh. This is a reminder that her original paint set back in the day had real paints. I understand why they didn't do that here, but I don't really care one way or the other about the set so it's trivia for you.

Samantha's Treat Set
Your girl can pretend Samantha is enjoying a delightful outdoor party with friends, just like in the early 1900s! This set includes a cart, metal chair, and treats to serve.

Of course, it's sold in two sets:

 photo CHG80_main_2_zpsi4dk8ply.jpg
Samantha's Summertime Treats
Item# CHG80 // $45

Samantha is ready for a delightful afternoon party! Her celebration will be the sweetest one yet with this set:

Colorful faux petits fours to serve on a golden-rimmed plate with a dainty doily
Two pink glasses
A matching pink vase for holding the flowers that Samantha picked that morning
A lacy fan to help her keep cool
A pair of napkins

Hallelujah, they actually included goodies for two this time! But... her original set from Before is still prettier. Damn it, nostalgia glasses, I am trying to work here!

Samantha's Outdoor Serving Set
Item# CHG81 // $75

When days are warm in Mount Bedford, Samantha likes to share refreshments outside in the shade. She can serve a treat to her guests on this white serving cart, crafted to look like wicker—just like real ones from Samantha's era. It has wheels that really turn and a removable tray on top for carrying or setting on a table. The matching white metal chair comes with a pastel striped cushion that ties onto the seat in front for a comfortable place to dine.

Samantha, dear? Grace would like a word with you... Lovely seems to be my word of the day and this set is. I don't have room for it, but I think it's pretty. However, it seems a bit... silly to introduce it at the same time Grace will be peddling very similar things. o_O Why would you cut into your own profits that way, AG? I just don't understand!

Samantha's Garden Gazebo
Item# CHG82 // $200

Samantha loves spending afternoons in this beautiful white wooden gazebo! Its arches are accented with graceful scrollwork designs, and its roof panels can be removed to create a lovely trellis look. Samantha thinks the four hanging fairy lights are positively enchanting! Popular decorations in Samantha’s day, each tiny candleholder has a flickering LED light inside to make it glow like a real candle. Includes a set of paper decorations so girls can change the gazebo with the seasons.
...Don't judge me, but if I had the space and the money to burn, I would totally buy this. It's cracking me up that Sam's gazebo here actually lights up but Grace's bakery doesn't and it's $300 more!

Samantha's Special-Day Dress
Item# CHG76 // $32

Samantha feels bright and sunny in this airy outfit:
A floral-print dress with a pretty lace-trimmed scoop neck, a dropped waist with a pink pleated taffeta sash, and a gathered skirt with more lace trim at the bottom
Soft white stockings
Shiny burgundy shoes with bows on the toes
A pink taffeta hairbow with looped ribbon on the side

Sweet Zeus, I love this. I... love this so much I can't do much more than whisper, "waaaaaaaant" like a creepy little kid, really. I wasn't that impressed with its prototype but this? YES. And green!

I'm thoroughly confused by AG at this point. They re-release the LE sets from last year, but broken up at the same time they're pushing new LE sets. But all I see is a warning sign that if I don't like the sets enough to want both parts (outfit and accessories) I just play chicken for a year and AG will be stuck with so much they have to offer them split up for me. You don't want your customers to play the waiting game, AG. It's just... Oi.

On the other hand, I'm glad to have the chance to buy Julie's if I so choose, so really... torn here. It still feels like a stupid move on their part.

In terms of amount of stuff versus quality, I'd still say Addy wins since she got one thing and it's stellar. However, in terms of stuff that set my heart aflutter? Sam actually pulled off a surprise upset. I won't buy most of it (well, not the big stuff) and I still think her flower picking dress is like 700 kinds of No, but that green dress is going to be mine.

Julie managed to burn through all the goodwill her Festival outfit earned her with her actual new dress. Kit's Chicken outfit is still all kinds of cute and I may be the only person on earth who loves Rebecca's shoes for her Seashore set.

Oh, and there's a stand for the mini dolls.

In case you wondered, just buying the new stuff (the actual new stuff, not the re-released stuff with new names) and only BeForever goodies, it would cost me $284 before shipping. (That would be: Sam's travel bag, her coat and hat, her special day dress of green awesomeness, Rebecca's Seashore set, Kit's chicken keeping set, Julie's skateboarding set, and Addy's dress and sewing set.)

Throw in the MyAG stuff (the ballet set with the leotard and the spring dress) and we're up to $348.

The kicker is that if my state refund were in and AG had a free shipping or some other fun code, I might actually pull the trigger and just buy it all at once, laughing manically as I did so.

I mean, I probably wouldn't, but there's no way I'd throw another $30 in shipping on top. Soooooo... this is where not having standard free shipping at a certain price point bites you in the arse, American Girl.

Woo! I love your AG recaps! Saves me much time and surfing. :D

I'm very surprised that the chicken set is only $48. I was guessing closer to $64, so that will very likely come home for Ruthie, along with Kit's pink dress from last year because I have no desire for the playsets but always did like that dress. Let's see, what else. I want the peach Easter dress probably for Josefina but Cecile will try it on too, and Julie's funky flower outfit has crept higher on my list for the same reason I didn't get Kit's candy making set. LOVE Sam's green dress but not sure I'll get it, and same with her coat and hat. They're GORGEOUS but I'm not sure they'd look right on any of my girls. So let's see, that would come out to $140 for four outfits...which is really not bad by AG standards. I'll wait a bit for free shipping though since I'm not in a huge rush what with my girls being packed away.

The jazz outfit screams burlesque/night circus and is freaking me out. That's just 50 shades of NO.

Oh wow, lots of stuff! I can't believe it's already february so I forgot it was the big Take 2 after the new year.

Carousel Outfit(a new word I can't spell apparently)-Mad at this one. I really like the carnival pattern on the jumper piece and would get it for the AGs, but it gets lost in the blahness of the rest of the outfit. Contrast, people!! If the shorts and dress stripes were in a nice green, blue or purple this would look a million times better. As it is, it just looks like pepto bismal barf. I'll hope it goes on sale and pick it up so I can match it with other things. Like Rebecca's baffling purple bicycle shorts could replace the pink ones.

Dumb Target-style match your own PJs even though these obviously go together already BS pieces: Really glad Bitty's not a stander since that thing just looks like a giant cooch-arrow. The elephants are cute, it's a nice real-world design type you don't see much of in AG, though I severely hate those damn butt-ruffles on kids.

BT Tennis outfit-Looks like about 20 other sets they've already put out. As you said, let's make it more hideous by mixing pink and orange. Here's some more non-matching pink too as those shoes are way too pale. And not keen on even the racket and ball having to match.

Golf Outfit-And yet oddly, I DO like this one. At least that green and blue go together way better. And I haven't seen golf done 5000 times like the tennis thing in every other line (why is tennis even so popular in doll lines? I mean, granted we're in the poor belt, but I hardly hear of any kids or many adults playing tennis. Just something they'd make fun of on tv as an activity you take up when you're rich...). Shoes are cute for loafers, not sure about sporting...

Spa Robe-Might look better in person where you can see the sparkles, but this one looks really bland to me. It's a color that's pretty much made to put you to sleep, so it's doing it's job as being an actual spa/sleep robe, but for $24, that's a big fat no. I got my garden robe (with hood! my favorite!) which I'm infinitely happier with. Did I ever get the matching pjs for that...? Hrm. :/
*looks* Apparently I did not. Sad.

Soccer Team outfit-Once again, I've seen about 10000 iterations of soccer outfits, so I was probably going to snooze past this no matter how it looked. And it looks like a hot mess. Man, we're veering wildly from "matchy-matchy" to "Throw all the colors at it!"

Jazz Outfit-Which I want to call the "So...I hear you like little girls... outfit". Yeesh. This is a dress that's mean to worn with tights. Fishnet tights. IE ladies in a certain type of entertainment business. As in "showing off the goods". As in, I don't want to see an 8-year old showing off anything. Like if they had gave it black leggings so it looked more like a magician's outfit maybe? But seriously, the cut on this is just...what were they thinking? It's too long to be a tutu, but too short to just be a skirt on its own. So it just looks like she's going to do her flashing dance and it's just wrong on so many levels. Weirdness.

Gardening Bench Set-Oh yay, finally an activity I like doing! 68 bucks though!? Like I know everything AG is overpriced this days, but this looks so cheap compared to that price. Like the bench is just a tall side table, it barely holds anything and there's no room for your doll to lay out pots and dirt (which should be the point of a gardening bench, not harvesting honey and killing butterflies for serial killers I guess). I like the trowel, but all of the pieces seem like I could get them from the $20 OG sets more readily. Like why not have several sets of flowers seperate from the dirt and several colors of pots so you could have fun switching them out and actually pretend you're planting? $42, I would love this a lot more, but at it's current price, I'll be waiting for the sale it will inevitably hit.

Gardening outfit-...this is certainly a thing. I do like having more interesting shorts, but I really think plaid looks better on a longer cut. Do they ever make shorts that go down to the knees? Not even saying that as a prudish thing, but just to differentiate with different cuts and make some more visual interest. The shoes are cute though seem a little fancy for a messy gardening outfit. And...that shirt. Dear lord. The doll looks like she's running home with her shirt all torn up crying "Mommy, mommy, Darren said he'd take me to the prom, but that's not what he wanted at all!"

Swimsuit-Not a big swimsuit person as discussed by living in the desert. I do very much like the color combo though and that it's a once piece. Little kids in bikinis creep me out. The shoes are an interesting new take at least. Glad they're branching out, though it seems we're just replacing flats with sandels on everything but at least these make sense. Hair pieces are dumb. Would much rather see spiffy sunglasses or something.

Ballet stuff-Oh look, here's the stuff that should have been out last year as part of Isabelle's collection? It's baffling because this is the exact stuff people complained about not being able to buy for Isabelle during her reign so now that people are high on cooking, I'm pretty sure they missed out on a prime opportunity there. I do like the simpleness and real world look of all of this, though splitting it up is more of their stupid short-sighted money grubbing ways.

Peach outfit-Was confused on pinterest because I thought this was Caroline's new set. I really like this, though I agree, I HATE when people's dresses match their skintones. Drives me up the wall. So yeah, only a few dolls will have access to this one. A very nice spring dress though that goes between formal and casual-dressy, nice shoes, so I'll be adding this someday.

Cut for BF!

Kaya!-Glad to see you're still not getting overlooked. I really like the shawl, but I like the coloring more of the previous LE outfit, so I'd probably go with that one first and hope this one goes on sale at some point during the year. But each of them is clocked on at almost $50...yikes. Actually both will be waiting for a sale. -_-

Addy's Sewing Set-Wow, these are all $50 huh? Not much better than the $64 sets honestly. But this thing is fucking fantastic, so of course I'll be getting it. But for such an expensive set those scissors look fucking awful and like something I'd get with Barbie or MH. I'm not going to be all "rawr, everything should still be metal/glass/porcelain" but they're trying to price these things at collector level still so you might want to make the quality of your pieces at least appear that way, too.

Rebecca's Baffle Outfit-Seems like we're not the only ones atwitter over this. Since I hate history, I really dig this on it's own, though I wouldn't see it as much of a swimsuit since it looks more like one of the skateboarding outfits or something. I love the boots along with you! The socks are weird though. Thankfully Rebecca looks good in EVERYTHING so she can actually pull this off. And this one I actually feel the chair is worth the up to $48.

Butterfly Costume-I used to think I wanted this and maybe at $32 I'd consider it more, but I think I've seen enough of it in pictures that I don't feel the need to own it. The makeup was and is still a non-factor for me.

Kit's Chicken Outfit-I too am enamoured of the chicken! So cute and more realistic, not cartoony or derpy looking! When we were talking before, I thought the outer piece was a dress, so I like this a million times more now that I see it's pants. Don't really like the shoes, though I guess that's a style-of-the-times kind of thing. I definitely want this set now.

Kit's Botched LE outfit-Hey one of these individual dresses is finally priced at a decent price point! Still seems like it should have a hair piece or something. I think these divisions are just proving even more how overpriced those sets were to begin with and how they just assumed everyone would be too dumb to separate out pieces and do simple math in their head to realize the mark-up on it. The bunnies are cute and for $24 I'd get this set, but it's not doing enough for me at 42 to get it.

Julie's Skateboarding set-Woo, something that looks like kid wear! I like seeing her in it, though I don't feel the need to own it, so I'll enjoy this set vicariously through you. ;)

Jule's Botched Set-Funky Flower outfit still does nothing for me and is overpriced. Never had any interest in the disco ball either and once again, when you see the sad pieces on their own and trying to be hawked for $30+, you realize how bad they fucked up on these things.

Julie's Maxi Dress-REALLY like the colors and length and look of this dress and that it comes with so many pieces at at $28 (see?? It shouldn't be that hard!), but I'm not sure who would wear it. Saige maybe? Not a big fan of the head scarf though. I think mostly the colors don't go with the rest of it. More sandals! But at least all the sandals have been looking fairly different from each other unlike the flats.

Breast Cancer Skull Dress-That's all I can see when looking at this thing. As you say...black tights? WTF? Shoes look like all the others...flower basket's kinda cute wonder how much that's adding on...*does spit take* This is one of the $50 sets?! The outfit's one of the 28-maybe 34 range, so they're charging at least $14 for that damn flower basket since that's the only accessory. Madness!

Travel Bag-Guess if your dolls are going all downton abbey, but those glove mittens are hideous.

Travel Coat/Hat-Damn, I do love that coat. Don't love it with that other dress though, so would need to find something else that would show up as the bib. Never been a big fan of Sam hats. Once again, I'd pick this up at 24, but 32's a breaker for me. The hat's not worth the upcharge for me.

Painting Set-Overpriced and boring and sadly uninteractable. I'll stick with Saige's set.

Treat Set-We should probably just assume I think overpriced about everything at this point. I agree the furniture looks more like it should be Grace's and the dishware doesn't seem too exciting on its own.

Gazebo-I'd totally be tempted at this too if it was $100. It could at least have curtains or something around it! Or should have come with the chair from the Outdoor Serving set, actually.

Sam's Special Day Dress- Cute dress, glad for a change of color scheme for someone and in general, shoes are cute and different, but it doesn't wow me enough to want it.

Wow, it sure became the Sam show didn't it? Sorry other historicals! I've never been a Sam person in regards to the doll/story/or clothing, so I'm kind of disappointed that so much was put into Sam and Josefina doesn't even get a token outfit thrown her way. I guess I didn't think she'd be brought back for a long time, but this is indicating she'll be sticking around for quite awhile?

I LOVE Sam's coat!! I wish it came in real, adult-person size because I would totally buy it, no-fucking-shame at all. OMG ♥

Julie's skateboard set is the best. Damn, everything I see of hers makes me want her even more, LOL. I will be LOST when they release an 80s doll. Maybe I better start saving up now, LOLOL.

Addy's sewing set is a very close second for me. I love the dress and the adorable accessories. Julie wins on pure nostalgia, but adult!me can definitely dig Addy's kit.

I really like the Easter dress, too! Even on a peach-colored doll (a nude colored dress for Easter? Ooh la la!). It probably would look horrible IRL - don't know how much they break out the dolly photoshop for these things - but I like the picture. Very feminine and understated.

I'm tickled that both of my fave sports are represented this time around, too! Can totally see Abby with the soccer stuff. I wish the tennis stuff had a better color scheme (pink + orange = so much NO, OMFG) and wasn't so...IDK, girly. Maybe that's my preference for men's tennis shining through, LOL.

Did they not sell the ballet gear with Isabelle last year? I seem to recall some moaning about "not another blonde ballet dancer" but I could totally be wrong. If we're kitting out BSC members, I think you gotta get the ballet gear out of loyalty to Jessi, hehe.
