Charmed Challenge: Day 3

Okay, I could not cheat and give just one answer, but dude, I'm going for wordy and you're getting two answers. Yay!
My standard answer to this question has been All Hell Breaks Loose since the episode came out. If you ignore the fact that it's the last time we see Prue again, this thing is nearly perfect.
I love that it doesn't start at the beginning- we're just dumped into the story and we have to play catch-up as the episode unfolds. I love that parts of it feel realistic while other parts are most decidedly not. When Prue breaks down over Piper, I might tear up. *cough* I love that for years if you wanted to instantly break the Charmed fandom into two warring factions, you could either ask their thoughts on Phoebe in general OR ask what color Piper's shirt was in this ep. :p

The ending still made me gasp and I knew, going in, that Piper and Prue were left for dead. It's still an amazing ending, even if it did lead to a summer of wondering if we'd get a soap opera re-cast or if we were getting some Sisters "surprise sister!" answer.
The fact that this is Shannen's swan song behind the camera, too? Icing on the cake. Seriously, love this ep.

Now, my other answer is hiding way back in the first season. I did not completely fall for Charmed until Dead Man Dating which is the episode where Piper falls in love withJohn Cho Mark, the ghost.

You know those stories you've seen/read/heard a thousand times and each time you hope this is the time you've stumbled into an alternate dimension and the story will end differently? I feel that way about DMD. I love Piper/Leo, but Piper/Mark is pretty damn perfect and I keep hoping that they'll find a way around the whole ghost thing.

There's also the fun B-plot with Phoebe being a hotel psychic to earn money for a real gift for Prue. It's still early enough in the series that the tension between Phoebe and Prue is understandable and realistic. I love that this isn't glossed over and the way that Phoebe is taking baby steps towards growing up... and that Prue is taking steps towards not being so quick to judge.

I cried like a little girl. And once I found myself crying over Mark and Piper, I figured the show was definitely worth keeping around.
