Maryellen has almost landed
Aug. 12th, 2015 10:03 amFirst up, after reading the sneak peek for Maryellen's first book, I'm dying at all the people suddenly fawning all over her. Why? Because she's awfully similar to Molly and the same people flipping out suddenly over ME hate Molly. *eyes roll out of skull*
Second, I'm reserving all final judgment (as much as these things are ever final) until I see things exactly as they should be experienced in their full release glory. But as it stands right now, I'm pretty underwhelmed. It's possible Mums will see things and shriek and that will alter my perception. It's possible that I just think that another goddamned classic mold with hazel eyes is just too, too much at this point.
That said, in certain shots she reminds me of Renee O'Connor from Xena and uh, that's a dangerous association for me to make. Because then I will NEED her.

ME herself. Socks, darling. You need socks. Even in the south, sugar. Especially in the south with those shoes. My ankles hurt just lookin' at you. /southern fried accent

Purse to match her shrug, gloves, and pearls of course.

I... liked this better in theory. I do like the bow in her hair, and it's possible this is just an example of their failtography at work. We'll see.

If you're thinking this looks like a bridesmaid dress and not a birthday dress, you're sort of right. It's both! I think I'd like this on another doll. Sorry, Maryellen.

Probably my favorite outfit of the bunch. I want it. Waaaaaaant.

School set to go with her checked school dress.

This is one of those shots I think, "Why is Gabby from Xena in doll form?" Which is funny because I don't think I particularly care for this pajama set. Go figure. Again, I could totally change my mind.

That just looks painful.

I like this one more than I thought I would, so that's a nice surprise.

Skating accessories. That are cute!

Annnnnnnd I like this one, too.

Pink makes ME look more blonde than strawberry. Also, hazel eyes. Meh.

Her crinoline to make things properly poofy.

Sofa bed that is allegedly $150. Uhhh... That's... a thing, I guess.

End tables complete with special lamp and TV Guide. I... think this is cute. When it goes on sale, guys. When it goes on sale.

Jukebox that you can hook up your mp3 player to. For $90, it'd better do something else, too.

You can apparently download an app to make the TV come aliiiiiiiiiiive. And those are indeed encyclopedias down there on the bottom shelf.

The Diner that you'll use to make the Peach Pit.

Her dog, Scooter. Who is supposed to be exceptionally old and not all bright eyed and springy of step. Whatever, he's adorable and he's also on the list of wants.
These are all pretty short thoughts but I'm falling asleep as it is and I wanted to share with you. Thoughts? Opinions? Ramblings?
And expect a WTF about the PLL finale later, too.

Date: 2015-08-14 01:44 am (UTC)Her clothes though...much want. Not everything, but most. Dammit.
I want the cherries outfit (for Josefina), the poodle skirt outfit (for Ruthie), and the crinoline. I like the skating outfit but not sure if I like it enough to pay whatever exorbitant price AG is going to charge for it.
Cecile has an epic need for the bridesmaidsday dress. I think that color will look spectacular on her.

Date: 2015-08-17 04:53 am (UTC)Oooh, I bet Cecile would look stunning in the bridesmaid dress. I can't wait to see it! And I bet Josefina would make me like the cherry outfit again, now that you mention it. Poodle skirts for all the Ruthies!
So basically no to the school and pajamas for you, or did I miss something?
I'm betting, based on everything AG has done recently, that they'll go on sale before the year's out. With my luck, I'll order them and then they'll go on sale a week later. So I'm trying to be good and tell myself now to wait for the sale.

Date: 2015-08-14 01:53 am (UTC)And the poodle skirt - OMG I wanted a poodle skirt SO BADLY when I was a kid. I don't remember why, but seeing that one gives me the warm fuzzies of memories ♥
The PJs look weird because of those bloomer short-short things. They do not flatter her legs at all.
Socks, darling. You need socks. Even in the south, sugar. Especially in the south with those shoes. My ankles hurt just lookin' at you.
Amen, sister. I'm already breaking out the bandaids because those are going to be some nasty-ass blisters on her heels (and toes)!
Jukebox that you can hook up your mp3 player to. For $90, it'd better do something else, too.
*snickersnort*

That's creepy. o.O
The Diner that you'll use to make the Peach Pit.
YAS to the Peach Pit reference :D

Date: 2015-08-17 04:58 am (UTC)Poodle skirt makes me happy because of all the people foaming at the mouth at the thought of it. Either they're screaming no to the historical accuracy of it (as in it's not) or they're just so happy to have one. So either way, I'm amused and I love. :D
Oh lord, I forgot the damage she'd do to her toes in those shoes. Mattel, she needs socks because otherwise I'm going to get her and just throw socks at her all the damn time.
Woo for the Peach Pit love!
I'm looking forward to finding out more about the app, because inquiring minds must know.
