Woo, schedule was fixed. It actually worked out even better than I dared hope it would. I have Tues/Wed/Thurs/Friday off, then I work Sat/Sun/Mon and have Tues/Wed off again. That means I miss scanning in truck two weeks in a row. :D I miss all of truck for one week.


Last night I finally got a chance to play with the testers for the Maybelline palettes. They had one for the Blushed Nudes and one for the Rock Nudes. Somehow I missed any reviews for either (I think I just blanked on the Blushed ones) so it was interesting to play around with something and not have any reviews in my head. Yeah, I admit I didn't get a chance to swatch them all because time constraints and also, there's only so much space to do this, but let's assume my choices were a good representation of the palette as a whole. If so, The Rock Nudes is awful. Just a giant glittery, patchy mess. None of the colors I tried worked out in any way, unless you wanted a glitter fallout bomb. Even with the assumption that some of the colors must be okay, and some are probably better over primer, it's still more bad than good. :/

On the flipside, The Blushed Nudes palette is stupidly pretty. I came thisclose to buying it right then and there. Only my severe disappointment with the other palette kept me from doing so. That and I couldn't figure out what second item to buy since they're buy one, get one halfsies.

But... Target has the DC Superhero Girls online. What to do? I mean, technically I don't *need* either one, and I did just buy a crapton of toys but still... Ivy! Harley! Shoulder devils! Shoulder angels! Assist!


Also, I got a little postcard in the mail yesterday about this:
A $50.8 million settlement has been reached with Tween Brands, Inc. and Ascena Retail Group, Inc. ("Justice") in a class action lawsuit about whether Justice misled shoppers by marking items “40% off” when this price was in reality the regular price. Justice denies all of the claims and says it did nothing wrong.

I found them at Target after dithering too long online. Huzzah! I don't get why they hid them basically with the toddler toys, though. Still, it worked for me since only one Batgirl was missing.

I don't think I've seen any reviews on those Maybelline palettes, either, hmm. Sucks to hear the Rock Nudes is such a bust, tho. I guess I don't get the appeal of glittery eyeshadow (or cream eyeshadow, for that matter), but there are some interesting colors, so :(

I didn't realize that was the official name behind Justice, so I snorted in a rather unladylike manner when I read it. The dog just looked at me like, "Really?"


I'm a sucker for glitter anything but I've learned that glitter shadow is a beast I'm incapable of taming so it's best not to try if it's too glitterbomb. When you basically explode on contact, yeah, not a good thing. I just figured my aversion to cream shadows was the oily lids and the fact that basically just creates a slip and slide. I did go back for the Blushed Nudes so we'll see if that works in my favor this week.

Ah, days off from work. What shall I do with myself...

I just can't with glitter on the eyes (no worth the hassle) and I share your oily eyelids woe :( I did go through my blogs and I found two reviews for - you guessed it - the Blushed Nudes (1) , (2)so obvs you picked a winner, haha!
