One more night of work. One more night...
Some weeks I have to keep repeating the countdown or I get too depressed to go on. The bad thing is that these weeks usually require the countdown on day one. This one made it to day three and then, well... there's not really a light at the end of the tunnel because next week's schedule is all kinds of WTF.
I don't know if this applies to other stores (even of the same kind) but our store is super busy (like can't find a parking spot at 10pm busy) two nights of the year. One is Christmas Eve, which is a no brainer for all sorts of reasons. The other? The night before Easter. It's gotten steadily worse, or else I just got thrown onto the schedule more often, I'm not sure which. The last two years I've been glad I don't drive to work because if I did, I'd never find a spot, and I came in at midnight for one of them. Midnight and the parking lot is full.
You're smart, you can see where this is going.
Guess who's working alone Saturday night? Oh yeah, me. The part I don't get is that D requested it off about a month ago? Maybe not quite that long. New girl asked for it off maybe a week ago? Maaaaaaaaybe two weeks. Maybe.
They were discussing whether it was a piss poor idea to only have one person (IT IS) and the scheduling guy debated putting D on the schedule anyway. Dude, wtf? She asked for it first AND she's super religious (...) so no, she's not going to come in. You don't scare her enough anyway, so even if you tried the "your job is on the line" thing, she'd call your bluff and you'd fold or live to regret it since new girl doesn't do shit. (She's mostly nice enough but she doesn't work at all if she can get away with it.) More than that, she's _new_. While it's nice to think you're not immediately giving her the shittiest schedules just 'cuz she's new, it's also really rude to throw the people who've been there awhile under the bus just to accomodate her.
Sigh.
I'm pretty sure I'm alone all of next weekend, actually.
Double sigh.
In happier news, I did get around to taking pics of Lea2 and there's a review coming. Eventually. And my box DID have my ~mystery~ item so I can now squee properly, even if it's delayed:
Someone on the FB group I'm a part of found a link for Lea's exclusive dress and shared it a few weeks ago. I remember clicking it and throwing it into my cart but then Comcast hiccuped and I forgot all about it until the sale recently. Annnnnnnd it was still in my cart, even though the link was dead, so I planned my order with the assumption it would fall through. Honestly, even though it showed up on the shipping notice and my order confirmation, I was still expecting it to not arrive since I gather AG basically said no to half the people who ordered previously. But it was in my box. :D I haven't put it on Lea yet but, y'know, my weekend is almost here.
B&BW heard my plea for new handsoap so they had a sale over the weekend and I snagged a few. I also got a soap holder for free, so now my soap will be dispensed by a turtle. Hopefully Ozma doesn't knock it to the ground.
Waiting on my Sephora order to arrive today. Amazon has spoiled me for two day shipping. Sephora uses UPS for theirs which means anything ordered Thursday-Sun and you're hosed. Meanwhile, Amazon told me Luna (Lovegood) wouldn't even be in stock til today and guess who was waiting for me yesterday? Mmhmm.
And now... we sleep.
