impyOnce more Bath & Body Works stomps everyone when it comes to shipping. I think I ordered this stuff Sunday and it arrived today. Considering they also ship UPS, it's still faster than Sephora Flash. Shame, Sephora. Shame.
I'm pretty pleased with my box of soaps this time around. Usually when I'm ordering blind I wind up making at least one tragic error that either needs to be pawned off on Mums or just buried in the yard but this time I think I ... wait. No. Scratch that. I did fumble on one, I think.
I ordered the following:
Cherry Champagne Toast which is a tongue twister and a half. :p
Raise your glass to a flirty blend of juicy cherries, sparkling champagne & red hibiscus
This is the one I was most looking forward to sniffing and it's also the prettiest by far. If I weren't already using one of the wine ones from last year, I'd swap this one in. I... might do that anyway. *cough*
Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla
The sweet scent of rich vanilla & freshly ground cinnamon
This is my possible fumble. It sounds fantastic, right? I mean, how do you screw cinnamon and vanilla up? But something doesn't quite work for me. Woe. We'll see if it's better when actually in use. Which could take awhile, so don't wait around for that review. :P
Seaside Sunrise
A warm sunrise glow, captured in the scent of orange blossom, fresh lychee & sugar
This smells so good. It's like happiness in a soap. This is the one I gave Mums and Widget for their bathroom. Gotta make up for the last one (the citrusy one they ruined by throwing in the smelliest grapefruit known to man, but boy was the bottle pretty) somehow.
Sea Island Cotton
Pure white cotton flowing in the fresh sun-kissed air
Warmer months must mean it's time to circle back to my cotton scents. If memory serves, this one isn't as powdery as the other cotton scent.
Dancing Waters
Fresh and clean sparkling waters with a hint of lush water lily
Went with the deep cleansing one for this though I don't remember why. I know I've bought this before and it turns out Mums really likes it and she saved some from the last bottle because she liked it so much. Guess this means I should sneak this one to her, eh?
Black Cherry Merlot
An addictive blend of dark cherry, black raspberry and sumptuous merlot
Luckily for me, since it was the type of soap I wanted to try, I also snagged it in BCM. Which I'm still waiting for B&BW to get off their duffs and put into their normal line, dammit. I'd still buy ALL THE THINGS. ALL. I also snagged this in it's regular foaming version.
Kitchen Lemon
A fresh blend of zesty lemon, sparkling citrus and Italian bergamot
And I finally saved and bought this one... for the kitchen. :P This way maybe people will stop using the Dawn to wash their hands.
Oh, and last but not least, I bought this guy:
Turtle Hand Soap Holder and got him for free because they were doing one of their sales where you get a free regularly priced item if you spend $10, I think? Anyway, since everything else was on sale, turtle was free. :D
After work which ended on a very, very busy note, I decided to try out some of the nude lipsticks I got in my Sephora set. So far I've tried two and had two pretty different reactions.
Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Milky Way. I was pretty sure this was gonna look like ass on me and it did. Like the worst part of the 90's nude/brown lip fad, only not in matte form. It lasted for quite awhile and it felt pretty darn awesome on, and the name is definitely spot on since it reminds me a lot of a Milky Way bar. Alas, I can't pull the color off so... y'know. That's a bummer. But I went in knowing this one was likely going to be a dud for me.

Annnnnd this is quite possibly going to wind up being my favorite. It's matte without being moisture sucking and it felt amazing on. The color was pretty good on me, actually, and the only downside was that this did not last more than a couple of hours. Otherwise, it went on well, it was pretty much transfer resistant (a little would come off but nothing crazy) and it basically reminded me of what I wanted the Maybelline Vivid Mattes to be. Only those stay forever and a day so... trade off.
One of the things I like about new girl at work is that she's a big makeup geek, too. :D Probably bigger than I am and far better, but it's nice to have someone to geek out with when new stuff shows up.
So. Work. Sunday's Easter, yes? Well, for the last two weeks, we've had a gazillion cases of eggs in the cooler. This week we finally made a dent in them all. Y'know, you could get to the freezer if you moved the empty milk crates out of the way. This morning, our food/cig delivery came and brought in two U-boats filled with eggs. That's easily 30 cases. I wish I was kidding. Where the hell are we supposed to put all those? I'm 99% sure that they wound up just pushing the second u-boat in the cooler and accepting that nothing in there was gonna get stocked til the eggs sold or went bad.
