MH Chatter #2, Cleo!

impyWe move on to Cleo because I'm way too tired to tackle one of the main three anytime soon.
Does Cleo need a lead in? I don't think so. She's a character I love and appreciate even when she's been nasty in the past. I like my bad girls to not be completely awful and with backstory, and Cleo's dolls are usually very pretty.
Favorites:
My absolute favorite Cleo doll, though it might just be mine and not this particular line, is DotD Cleo. From the unusual fashion to the short hair and the purple lips, I love, love, love her. ♥
Dead Tired Cleo is probably the prettiest of the long haired Cleos. For me, anyway. I think I wanted to buy literally (yes. Literally.) every one I saw in stores. Every time. No exceptions. She's just that pretty.
Scaris Cleo is stunning.
Frights Camera Action Cleo never gets enough love. Which is why she's on my shelf right by the door so that when I turn out the light as I head off to work, she's one of the last things I see.
She happens to be right next to Gloom and Bloom Cleo. Mine looks exceptionally bitchy, which works well for the storyline they introduced.
Honorable Mentions:
Cleolei is love, though she's not exactly Cleo.
Sig Cleo is perfectly lovely, as is W2 Cleo.
Ghouls Rule. This is one I don't care for in promo pictures to the point that I forget how much I actually like her in person. In promos, she's decidedly meh. In person, I think she's fantastic.
I ♥ Shoes. If mine didn't have weird glue issues sometimes, we'd be better friends.

Least Favorites:
Gloom Beach. I was SO disappointed when she came out and I was super ticked that I ended up with this doll three times. One pre-order that shipped without warning, one ordered after they were showing up elsewhere but not locally and not a peep was heard about my pre-order, and once in that blasted gift set. If they'd committed to the teal lipstick, I'd have loved her. As it was, it looked oddly sheer and washed her out. I let Widget gift one to his sister, I repainted another, and I... don't know what happened to the third. She might be running around, stock.
Beating Nefera to the punch with that lip color. Good job, Cleo. And me, I suppose.
Skull Shores. This is kind of the opposite of DOTD where I really love mine and it skews my opinion. Mine has the thinnest hair, ever. It's also super prone to glue seepage (wtf) and the bangs are thatched oddly so she's never looked right and possibly never, ever will. Dammit, Cleo.
Meh?:
Fearleading Cleo. There's nothing wrong with her, there's nothing super exciting about her for me.
Picture Day Cleo. So meh, I'm not even sure I own her, actually. I'm pretty sure I do, though. I just... don't know where she is. Which means she's likely in the closet or on Ozma's shelf. Need to find her again. She's also another one where they didn't seem to commit to the lipstick and you can't tell me that Cleo would go anywhere with less than perfect lipstick. She just wouldn't. No.
13 Wishes Cleo. You're pretty but you came with so much plastic crap I don't need so... meh?
The One that Got Away:
I ♥ Fashion Cleo. Never saw you online, never saw you in stores, never got over it.
Don't have Creepateria, Boo York, or Mad Science. Yet. They're all on the want list, however.
Upcoming Lines:
I think Budget Cleo looks a little vacant and is one of the dolls not better served with the 'nicer' expressions, but since she hasn't actually appeared in the wild yet, I'm waiting to see how close promo and reality are. (I like my Cleo to have some bite and nu!Cleos don't seem to specialize in that.) Also, I'm really not a fan of the limited head movement everyone has mentioned on the Budget Basic dolls. I'm not thrilled with the loss of elbow joints (and wrist) but I could tell myself it was For The Children. But the head movement that is below even super basic Barbie? Really? Sigh. Sorry, Cleo, you haven't had this issue yet so why am I blathering on yours? Forgive me.
Playset Cleo is basically the same only without the blue hair.
I do kinda dig the Dance Cleo, though. She's on my want list at the moment.
I'm not super sold on new pet Cleo (not pictured) but I've only really seen one picture and it wasn't the best so reserving judgment.
Overall, even when I don't love a Cleo doll, I think she's pretty. Basically, you really can't go wrong with Cleo. Unless she's got super glue issues and then, well, it's not Cleo's fault. :P
