Mix and Match Goodies:

Denim Jacket/Hoodie
Item#DNX85 // $14
This casual denim jacket features heathered gray sweatshirt sleeves with knit cuffs and a matching hood for a comfy yet stylish look. Plus, it has classic contrast stitching, buttons down the front, and two printed patches for extra flair.
Some people hate the word moist. I hate the word flair, at least when used in this context. :P That aside, I dig this. It's not my favorite piece of the mix and match stuff, but I appreciate it being there and I like the outfit it shows up most in. So I give it a thumbs up.

Pretty Plaid Shirt
Item#DNX86 // $12
Let's get creative! Your girl can build new styles for her doll when she layers on this versatile button-front plaid shirt. It has cuffed three-quarter sleeves and can be tied at the bottom for a casual yet trendy look.
I love this so much that I almost don't wince at the price tag. Almost. Seriously, I suspect I'll wind up with more than one of these if I like it as much in person as I do online. It's giving me ye olde girl of today vibes in the best way.

Kitten Sweater
Item#DNX87 // $12
Purr-fectly adorable! This pink sweater has contrasting raglan sleeves and a crewneck—but best of all is the cute kitty embroidered on the front with a blue ribbon bow over its ear.
I want to like this more than I actually do. I kind of want to get it for Saige when she's being Mallory and have it be one of Mal's questionable sweaters. :P And now I've talked myself into liking it more than I did just ten seconds ago.

Indigo Bubble Dress
Item#DNX88 // $14
This collared chambray dress has gathered cap sleeves, a button-up front, and a puffy bubble skirt. The pink bow belt slips on and off for an easy way to change up the look.
Oh, look. AG's like four years late to the party on this. That said, I dig it and want it and will have it. But not pair it with leggings because meh.

Star Quilt Skirt
Item#DNX89 // $10
Her doll will rock her stellar style in this A-line star skirt. It has rows of star-shaped quilting, two front pockets, and an elastic waistband with a purple bow.
On its own, kinda meh kinda cute? Paired with other stuff, I likes. It's on the want now list.

Purple Play Shorts
Item#DNX90 // $10
Girls can create the perfect weekend look for their dolls with these woven play shorts. They have pink contrast stitching for a fun, casual look.
I wish it didn't have the pink stitching but since they're going for a cohesive color thing, I get why it does (gotta bring that sweater in somehow) and these are on my need it now list. (That list is posted somewhere around here because I'm gonna make it easy on future!me.)

Coral Skinny Pants
Item#DNX91 // $12
Girls can dress their dolls up or down in these cool coral pants. The stretchy woven fabric and elastic on the back of the waistband mean a nice snug fit that still lets dolls move.
Still lets dolls move is cracking me up. I might be delirious. I'm not sure. In any case, these aren't my favorite because I abhor skinny jeans/pants but... I kinda like these. Because dolls, I suppose.

Playful Print Skirt
Item#DNX92 // $10
This vibrant colorsplash skirt has an artsy watercolor look. Features an easy-on elastic waist and a fun paint-splotch print.
I'm sad this isn't getting as much love as it deserves because I loooooooooove it. Love, love, love. I'm so glad it's not a store exclusive thing like originally feared. Huzzah!

Side-Cinch Tank
Item#DNX93 // $10
This breezy blue tank features a pink drawstring to adjust the ruching on the right side, plus shirred fabric on top of the shoulders to match. A butterfly doodle graphic on the front keeps the look lively.
I like this less by itself and more with other pieces to create a look.

Silver Print Cat Tee
Item#DNX94 // $10
Meow-velous! This white crewneck tee shimmers with an allover foil cat print. Plus, it has cool blue contrast stitching at the arms and neck.
Look, AG, I dunno who you've got over there that hates cats so much but really? You can't even tell these are cats. I had to zoom waaaaaaaay close just to make sure you weren't messing with me. I hate this style of shirt (hello, onesie sleeves!) and I hate that I'm gonna buy this because cats. It's just way, way down on my list for now.

Indigo & Dot Leggings
Item#DNX95 // $12
Two pairs of leggings mean even more fresh looks to try! She can switch it up with the casual stretch denim indigo leggings or the playful aqua print leggings, featuring a foil dot print.
I... kind of hate these. But I kind of don't. They just seem to be a giant arrow pointing to doll crotch and that's just weird as hell. Like how, why, what the hell is going on? When they're paired with a longer shirt/skirt/dress, it's a cute enough look assuming these go on easily, but when they aren't, it looks weird to me. This is probably the most reasonably priced thing in the mix and match series and that's because you get two pieces for what is essentially the price of one.

Two Tone Sneakers
Item#DNX96 // $14
These pale pink-and-purple canvas sneakers have elastic laces to make them easy to slip on.
I don't hate them but I don't love the price so...

Bright Stripes Flats
Item#DNX97 // $14
Add a pop of pink to her step with these candy-striped flats. They have contrasting aqua patent toecaps with tiny cord bows to match.
My eyes are offended.

Glitter Glasses
Item#DNY02 // $10
Your girl can create a special look for her 18" doll with these glittery clear frames! Includes a soft case for safekeeping.
Glitter! But I'm waiting on owner pics of both sets of glasses because sometimes these things wind up making everyone look cross-eyed and that's not a look I'm going for. :P

Brownie Ombre Glasses
Item#DNY03 // $10
Your girl can create a special look for her 18" doll with these translucent glasses. They start warm-brown at the top and fade to clear at the bottom. Includes a soft case for safekeeping.
Just couldn't resist doing something to the arms of the glasses, could you? Sigh. Waiting to see owner pics.

Butterfly & Gem Bracelet Set
Item#DNY04 // $8
Perfect for dolls that like a touch of extra sparkle! This set fits 18" dolls, and includes a shiny golden cuff bracelet with a pink butterfly and a tri-color pretend gem bracelet on an adjustable purple cord.
I like the look of them paired together but I think they clash horribly with one another... so it's the idea of two bracelets that I like. I just don't like these two together and apart they seem lacking. I'm conflicted.

Elegant Earrings Set
Item#DNY05 // $10
Dolls can dress up any look with this sparkly set! It includes a pair of pink studs and lavender studs that can each be worn alone, or mixed and matched with the star dangles and teardrop dangles.
Earrings, man.

3-in-1 Ring Set
Item#DNY06 // $8
Dolls can show their shimmering style! This set includes a glitter ring, a golden star ring with a pink pretend gemstone, and a silver-colored star ring with a blue pretend gemstone.
I'm not sure how this is "3-in-1" but if you meant three for the price of one, sure. I like these a lot more than the plastic rings they threw at us after Saige, so this is definitely a step up. I'll likely be buying these because I like cute things.

Comfy Lounge Set
Item#DNP56// $20
Dolls can kick back and relax or be ready for action in this stylish set. The cowl-neck tunic top has a ribbed hem and embroidered logo. The star-camo-print pants have a ribbed cuff and faux pockets; a matching headband with bow adds a bright finishing touch.
Good to know that cowl necks look just as dumb on dolls as they do on me. Good to know. I'm also not sure I'd reach so far as to try and call that print "star-camo" but camo to me wouldn't be a selling point so again, not the target here. I like the pants, the headband looks cute, and the top is kill it with fire.

Sparkle Star Cutaway Tee
Item#FDC14 // $10
Her doll will be a star in this bright-berry tee! It has three-quarter sleeves and a scoop neck, and features a sparkly star graphic on the front and a cutaway feature on the back with a star-print inset.
Look, AG, if you're gonna tell me there's a feature on the back you know what would be swell? Showing the back! Seriously, it ain't that hard.

Star Skirt
Item#FCM14 // $12
Add a fun new option to her doll’s wardrobe! This sweet, starry skirt features an easy-on elastic waistband.
I will never understand AG's pricing, honestly. The vastly superior watercolor skirt is two dollars less (I'm not complaining about this working in my favor) but I guess this is basically like the store exclusives that wind up online. Hell, for all I know this is just that. Who knows, the people who go to the stores these days just tell us of the hundreds they drop, not what's currently in the store. Slight bitterness aside, I kinda dig the skirt. I don't like the combo they're showing it off with, but I think it's cute enough.

Skeleton Outfit
Item#DNY01 // $34
This spooky-chic outfit includes capri-length leggings, fingerless gloves, and a tee—all with glow-in-the-dark skeleton graphics on the front, plus a glittery pink heart in the ribcage on the shirt. The set comes with a shimmery three-layer tulle skirt, plus a headband and glittery shoes.
*grabby hands* I want, I want, I waaaaaaaaaaaant. Even with the lame shoes and the weird tutu thing, I waaaaaaant. Also, this would work pretty well if you were really fond of Izzy and wanted to do that thing from the movie. (There was a dance with skeletons. It was pretty much the best part of the movie aside from Jade.) I waaaaaaaaaaaant. I just don't want it $34 worth with shipping on top. I do wish it came with a trick or treat bag or, if they're phasing that out, maybe a little pumpkin or something because really, I need more itty bitty Halloween in my life. But this is a decided want.

Ombre Ballet Outfit
Item#DNY00 // $34
Her doll will bloom in the spotlight! This set includes:
An aqua leotard with a cascade of flowers and rhinestones, and an attached layered tutu that’s bright and glittery on top, fading to pale blue on the bottom
A pair of matching ballet shoes with elastic ankle straps
Light-aqua tights
A sparkly elastic headband with a flower and rhinestone accent
A recital program and two pretend tickets for her friends
I wish the tutu wasn't attached to the leotard if only because I not so kind of love the tutu itself. So pretty. Pretty sure the L&L review mentioned that it sheds glitter like craaaaaaaaazy so that's a bummer but I will persevere, dammit! In case you couldn't tell, this is also a want. Like I said, I really like this release. A+ job, AG.
I'm gonna be lazy here and put the camping stuff together in an abbreviated form.

Sleeping Bag ($28), Campfire Set ($42), Adventure Tent ($70)
The highlights for those? The jar of fireflies with the tent (the only thing I want and had it been with the campfire set or maybe the sleeping bag, I'd have bought them just for it) and the fact that the sleeping bag is basically an accessory to this behemoth:

Adventure Pop-Up-Camper
Item#DNX70 // $185
This home-away-from-home starts as a compact trailer when folded up. When the camper opens, the luggage rack on the outside doubles as a canopy frame, and a bright mesh and fabric canopy attaches to enclose it. Girls can decorate with the included string of colorful pretend ball lights and two sheets of stickers. Inside, there’s a bed that folds away for extra space, a cushion for the bench seat, and a cute kitchenette that can fold down for storage. There are even storage compartments for all of her essentials, including:
A pretend flashlight that dolls can really hold
A pan, kettle, and metal spatula for pretending to cook
Two speckled plates, cups, bowls, and metal sporks
Pretend food: A loaf of bread, jars of peanut butter and jelly, a box of granola cereal, jugs of milk and orange juice, a juice can with a straw, pancakes and syrup, a box of pasta and jar of pasta sauce, and spaghetti with pretend meatballs on top
A mini American Girl magazine
A camping brochure
Part of me wonders if AG would sell less campers if they sold the little accessories seperately and part of me wonders how much more they'd make from those of us who'd like little jugs of juice and milk but have no interest in the camper. Would it offset things or... I dunno. This is basically telling me to go check out the OG stuff at Target to see if they have a kitchen supplies kind of thing because now I want one but I don't want this.
For what it is, it's okay. I don't like the orange and purple color scheme they're pushing this summer and I haven't liked it when they've done so previously either. I do like the purple and aqua, however. The idea of the thing is cute and if I had the space and a kidlet who wanted it (and by kidlet I mean anyone), I don't think I'd say no immediately. It's just... not for me? It's cheaper than I thought it would be and Lanie's was $295 and even bigger. So they're trying, I guess?

Pomeranian Pajamas
Item#DNX84 // $24
Her doll is ready for tail-waggin’ slumber-party fun in these PJs! Includes:
Cropped pajama bottoms, featuring an allover paw-print pattern, blue ribbed cuffs, and an elastic waistband
A short-sleeved top with a playful Pomeranian graphic on the front
Cute knitted slippers with embroidered pups on the toes
Two matching hairbands
First up, ahoy, Mary Anne Spier doll (pre-makeover)! Anyway. I like the colors used for this, I like the Pom on the shirt. I'm not sure how I feel about the pants but that's really just me, and I'm not super fond of how the slippers look though I want to like them. If there's a sale or free shipping and I need to hit a certain threshold, I will likely cave and not regret it for the shirt alone. I feel like I should be bothered more by AG's liberal use of the teal/aqua colors this year (that spring outfit, the ballet outfit, and this right off the top of my head) but since I enjoy it, I'm okay with it.

Trundle Bed and Bedding
Item#DPC78 // $100
Sleepovers are twice as nice with a bed that fits two dolls, plus mix-and-match bedding! This set includes:
A sturdy white wooden bed, featuring a trundle that can be stored underneath or pulled out for a friend
Two mattresses, one pink and one blue
Two pillows, one pink and one floral
A pink sheet with a printed sweater pattern
A comforter that matches the sheet on one side and the floral pillow on the other
AG, I prefer my doll beds to not look like a slab of concrete my poor dolls will suffer terribly when trying to 'sleep.' It's not all that different from the Dreamy Daybed they retired last year but I'm good on doll beds for now. Seriously, no room at the inn.
There are a few more things I'm not gonna go all out on, but links are provided because I'm nice. :P
There's a new mini doll tote so your doll can carry her stuff around. There's also an Adorable Accents - Everyday for Dolls set which is a hair kit with rubber bands (pink), a couple of barrettes, and a ponytail clip thing among other things. Adorable Accents for Dolls - Souvenir gives you purple elastics, ribbon clips (because hair clip ins are so out?), and weird furry ponytail holders. Both sets give you little star barrett clips, too.
Melody's final two books are out and I snagged them on Amazon (don't judge me) because they had the three book set for 9.99 and I had $3 off. So... now I have two Kindle versions of Melody's first book. Meh. I did really enjoy her second book and while I don't think the Journey books are as fun to read in e-book form, I didn't hate hers.

Date: 2016-07-05 01:30 am (UTC)LOL @ the so-called "cat print" shirt. I'm with you - in what way does those silver squiggle things resemble cats? Because I can't see it.
Those rings just look weird. Since its really obvious the dolls weren't designed to wear rings o.O
I can't believe that camper thing isn't like $300.
I'm sorta digging all the summer outfits, even the bubble dress over leggings. Leggings under dresses seems to be a thing here, and as someone who wear shorts under dresses bc massive thighs, I have to say I approve. All the freedom of wearing a dress with none of the chafing.

Date: 2016-07-06 12:03 pm (UTC)I'm glad someone else is having trouble seeing cats amongst the squiggles because everyone else is all "eee, so cute!" But slap a dog on a shirt and it always looks like a dog so clearly AG has a vendetta against felines. News at 11!
Huh. Upon closer inspection it looks like the rings don't go all the way around, they look like they go on like a bangle bracelet would on say, Barbie. What is seen cannot be unseen!
I know, right? They had a perfect chance to price gouge and didn't go nearly as high as expected.
Leggings strangle me though I'm not opposed to shorts hiding under dresses. But that doesn't help when the dress is a smidge short. In any case, this release wants allllllllll my money. All of it.
