Home now. Work was... interesting. The trucks weren't as bad as I feared, but part of that is probably because I spent a good chunk of the first couple of hours worrying when the rain started intensifying. But whenever I looked outside, it wasn't awful so that helped.

I was annoyed as hell to learn that they had two people coming in at 6am and another at 7am, which means that if Mums had gotten there early (or I, y'know, drove) I could have gone home early. Raaaaaargh. Why didn't I look yesterday so I would have known? WHY.


On the plus side, had I looked, I would not have been there to find the WnW Fall mini display completely untouched. I grabbed all the mascaras and the two eye shadow trios but passed on the lipsticks. I don't look good in that shade of pink, red makes my face look redder than it is, and I'm not sure how vampy I can go and honestly, I don't remember staying in love with the lipstick swatches online. I might look later and regret my decision to skip them. I probably won't.


Went to visit my brother's kittens who are now cat sized, even though they're still kittens to me (and will be. Forever). They're so cute! I'll see if my pictures are anything better than super blurry messes. It poured while I was there and Mums was running the boy to work. (His car is out of commission currently.)

It also poured while we were at the grocery store. The rain has stopped for now and has been pretty quiet for the last hour or so, so I could clean up after the dog (and take her for a walk) and put up the empty boxes that I'm waiting for recycle day to be rid of.

The pond nearest us has been dangerously low for awhile and when I took the dog for her walk, it was back up to normal levels. However, the next pond down is still really, really low. So I wonder how things are gonna work with the rain when it comes back?


*eyes the backdoor* Huh. Storm looks like maybe it's kicking back up. I'll let you know how it goes, but I think I should find matches and set up the flashlights just in case.

Glad to hear you survived the rain (and that that's all it was!). I'm curious as to your opinion on the WnW mascaras.

I tried the bronze and the green. Bronze is just a nice word for brown in this case. Green looks really green on the wand but on my lashes it's pretty hard to tell it's not just brown/black/whatever, unless the light hits it just right. Which is disappointing because I was hoping for actual color and not the hint of color. I'm ignoring the green flaking off like crazy yesterday because day one application when super sleepy, super lazy, and just being day one gets a pass. (I also stayed up way too late waiting for a storm that never arrived so I probably rubbed my eyes eleventy billion times without realizing it.)

Blue and purple will get tested in a bit since I'm not leaving the house (woe, sales. Woe) and we'll see if they're more impressive. Right now I'm at a solid meh though. Why, WnW. Why. I thought we were friends.

Hmm, I might have to pick up the bronze one, then - I have yet to find a brown mascara that wasn't actually black masquerading as brown.

Sorry to hear the green is disappointing :( IIRC, WnW hasn't had a good track record with color mascaras.

Man, that bronze one at work went fast. And so did the red lipstick and whichever is the darkest lipstick. I tried the blue out and about and it's definitely blue. Not blue tinted black but full on blue, and it didn't flake or smudge in the heat, so that's nice. Still have to try the purple and give the others another go.
