Cyber Monday starts early. Weird.
Nov. 27th, 2016 09:11 pmHuh. That's... weird. I don't do a ton of shopping on special days, like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but I do look forward to the AG sale on CM because I enjoy staying up, reading the various threads, and chatting with
zallia. Last year I had to work, which meant many a covert text message sent and this year I was adamant about not working tonight.
So naturally AG sends an email earlier today, right before I finally lie down so I'll be rested for tonight, that says to check my email at 5pm CST this afternoon. Uh. Huh. Now, I've gotta say the Rewards program they set up has kinda sucked. The points system is needlessly complicated and frustrating and also kind of useless if you don't live near a store since shipping is going to eat your savings. Otherwise, mostly they've just sent videos as their big surprises. So I wasn't even sure it was worth getting up for. However, I woke up at 5:40 and decided what the heck, I'd look.
Behold, early access to the Cyber Monday sale. Access to the CM sale early is a good perk. Except... I was looking forward to the madness of previous years. Le sigh. Also, the Santa outfit I wanted sold out in the time it took to scroll down the page and then checkout. Boo.
Anyway, here's what I ordered. I don't get how I grabbed so little and it cost so friggin' much. D: (I mean, I do. AG's shipping prices are insane and throw in another $10 in tax that I wouldn't normally have had to deal with and voila, I just spent about $20 extra on top of my order.)

Saige's necklace. It's called the cactus flower necklace, but c'mon, we all know it's Saige's. I wanted another because I really like the one I have. Also, um, yes, for $2, I think I will.

Grace's earrings. I thought they were cheaper but went ahead and ordered them because $6 isn't awful.

Kit's Reporter set. For a doll I no longer plan on getting, I have a crapton of Kit accessory sets. Huh. Anyway, I don't think I ever actually ordered this one, and I've always liked the idea of it (little newspapers and tiny photographs and eee!) but I'd never pay full price because I so rarely wind up using the accessories. :p

Julie's Summer Set. I've had my eye on this ever since it came out and it's gone on sale and been rumored to be retiring for years. I think it might've even been on one of last year's sales? I dunno, I just remember I ultimately didn't get it because it was either the only daily deal I wanted and I wasn't paying shipping for it or because I wanted other things on sale more. This is the big thing I will be really put out by if they do their sell out where they fill later orders first and then earlier orders are shafted when they run out of items. (It happens every CM. Literally every single AG CM sale in my memory has a handful of people who ordered within the first five minutes and yet their stuff never arrives because AG's order fulfillment is weird and wrong.) This and the Santa set were the two things I desperately wanted and we all know I missed out on the Santa set. Woe.

I'm not sure why they're offering Maryellen's outfit without the shoes? For $10, I can find some shoes or something.

Grace's Hairstyling Set. This is where things get tricksy. See, Me's picture and listing don't show or mention the shoes that would normally come with the set. Grace's hairstyling set clearly shows that metal headband, right? But it's not in the listing, which I didn't realize until after I'd put in my order. I've had CM orders go both ways on this kind of thing. Sometimes you get what's pictured and sometimes you only get what's in the listing. Considering the metal headband has been wasting away on the clearance page for the better part of the year, I hope they throw it in.

Sequin Skirt Outfit. This is another one where the listing doesn't mention the shoes but they are clearly pictured in both pictures. If they'd just been in the outfit displayed on a doll shot, I'd be less likely to believe/hope the shoes will be included. However, for $12 for an outfit that no one's seen before, they'd better friggin have the shoes. (I'm not sold on this as an outfit, but I think the pieces have potential. They just don't have $12 worth of potential without the shoes.)

Pale Pink Tweed Outfit. Look, I believe Grace's shorts had their material turned into a skirt. And her shoes from... whatever outfit (the sightseeing one?) are shown but not mentioned. So we'll see what actually arrives.
