Riverdale Round 3

impyTalk amongst yourselves and figure out which of you will be watching Riverdale with me and discussing it because HOLYCRAPMUFFINS.
Kay. First up, do I go hunting spoilers for the rest of the season (I mean, they fell in my lap) or do I just go episode by episode? Decisions that shall not be made today, I suppose.
Moving on.
We begin with the WTF.
Betty in her Polly persona. What...the... hell? No. I'm serious, I've got nothing more than hand gestures and an overall feeling of "what the hell just happened here?"
And move on to the Not A Good Look, Riverdale.
- Making Chuck that kind of ass. I'm the first to admit I've never ventured very far outside the wacky fun regular Archie comics (I tried to follow along with Life with Archie or whatever the series was after Archie Marries B/V but it soon became impossible to get that magazine so I stopped) and in those Chuck could, at times, be a bit of an ass. But it was always in that "I'm so good at football (or whatever sport they were doing at the time, possibly basketball got thrown in there as well), you'll all jump when I tell you to because you want to keep me happy"... but he wasn't stupid and he wasn't the kind of guy who would kiss and tell, or kiss and lie. It's probably also not a great idea to have the show make Weatherbee (who is also black in this universe) useless in the same episode you have your only black male with a name be a huge ass jerk. I'm just saying, it looks bad.
Onward.

Veronica continues to be awesome. Betty continues to shine, and together B&V are the highlight of the show.
Cheryl seems to slowly joining the cast on a more... sane? level. She still seems to be operating on a different show level, but it's less jarring for the most part.
Mrs. Cooper is already tapdancing on my last damn nerve. I shouldn't be advocating for more punches for her, but I am. I so am.
If one took a shot for each time someone said "Hermione Lodge" one would be drunk every episode.
The group sneaking around the school amused the hell out of me. More of that please and thank you.
Val got to speak! Gasp.
Annnnnnnnd the promo for next week confirms that Archie/Grundy is still gross, but it's not actually Miss Grundy! Because Geraldine would NEVER.
