Day 3 and LibraryThing goodness

Did my monthly check in over at LibraryThing for the Early Reviewers and saw that a) I didn't win anything last month and b) they're doing an Easter Egg hunt that ends tomorrow? Today? If you found 5 eggs, you'd get a lifetime membership. So I peeked at the clues and found I think 16. (One is on the request page for the ER so that helps start you off.) Lifetime membership means I will be spending a weekend scanning every damn book and variation of those books into my library.


MUHAHAHAHA. God, I'm a nerd. But seriously, this is all I've wanted since I found LT. I am legitimately looking forward to just scanning the shit out of my books and then basking in the glow of a job well done. Also, getting to play with my books makes me happy. And dusty.

Speaking of books, it's time for Day 3.


3.) Favorite regular book:
Oh sweet Jesus, how am I supposed to choose? My babies! Can't choose just one and this is subject to change at any time, really. The Ghost at Dawn's House because the secret passage is found and I love almost everything this book chooses to be. Welcome Back, Stacey! The way this one starts is still with me however many years later and while I came to the series after Stacey left, her return made kid!me stupidly happy. Also, it bleeds pretty much right into Mallory and the Mystery Diary which is another favorite. I tried the get the kid to make/read comics when 'real' books didn't work out with Widget, so that's a life hack. Thanks, Mal.

And my favorite of the original graphic novels is Mary Anne Saves the Day, which I've been known to re-read when I'm in a particularly sad mood and need to be cheered up.

The only reason I stopped using LT for most things aside from the ER lotto was because I didn't want to hit my 200 limit. But now I'm limitless! Join me and we can be limitless together! (I mean, it doesn't say you have to be a member prior to the egg hunt to win.) Dead serious about spending a weekend scanning my library. I'm already prepping the proper snacks and debating asking Widget to see if his sorta boss has a folding table I can borrow.


Huzzah for #28! I'd imagine BSC at lunch is quite relaxing.

Hmm. I have no idea what LibraryThing actually is, but I am a great big nerd so I might have to check it out. Even better if there's a chance to win a free/limitless account! :)

LT is like GR's nerdy older sister. While GR is more obviously social and reviewer-y (not to mention author-y), LT wants to know just how many variant covers a book has, what the first line in each edition is, who the main characters are, what the last line of the book is, when it was published... Basically everything. ALL the things. I think a lot of people use it as basically the virtual version of their book collection, but it also serves actual libraries. Because it can be a little difficult to navigate (or maybe that's just me) here's the link to the Egg hunt so you can jump in and find your five eggs and get your limitless account. :D Oh, and the ER link.

I think I've applied for a gazillion GR giveaways and won exactly once. LT occasionally throws me a bone.

Hmm. I missed out on the Egg Hunt according to their Twitter, but right now I can't even get the LibraryThing website to actually open up. I guess I'll have to investigate another time.
