As you might recall from This post, I went ahead and made what I could not find. Today, nearly a month later, I begin my 30 Days of Sweet Valley challenge.
1. Favorite twin:

Early!SVH Liz is my hands down favorite. We're talking Double Love and a few books after that early. When she's not nearly as popular as Jessica (her books get knocked to the ground in the hallway and no one helps her. That would never happen to later!series Liz) and a little awkward and sarcastic and snarky and just kind of awesome. When Jess oversteps her bounds, early!Liz gets even. Hell, with Jess winding up in the pool, some might even say Liz came out ahead. I don't think I ever managed to pinpoint when she shifts, but every time I re-read the first few books, I fall back in love with her and wish she'd stuck around for longer. Sigh.
Unrelated to that, but today's National Nail Polish Day and I celebrated accordingly:

Originally I was going to do all the polishes I've gotten in the last month or three but that got crowded and meh. So I went with basically the last two or three groups. Not pictured, my OPI polish and the 2 Sally Hansen Insta Dry polishes I snagged the same day I snagged the Essie polishes. While Essie isn't normally my thing (they're expensive and they chip on me) these colors screamed, "BUY ME!" and it was 25% off day and they're buy 3, get 1 free. So I did. We've got
Essie's World is Your Oyster, At Sea Level, Dressed to the Nineties, and Ring in the Bling, Zoya's Suri, Willa, and Harper. I've worn the Zoyas but not the Essies. To be fair, I did get them Wednesday. I spent ages figuring out which colors to get since I never buy Essie polishes but for the sale and using my points (which made them free) I figured why not. Naturally as soon as I bought them and put them in my locker, I found another shade I wanted (Coral Coast from the same line as Oyster and Sea Level). Dang it.

Date: 2018-06-04 11:03 am (UTC)It was interesting watching the twins kind of evolve into one another and how Jess usually came out on top when that happened. I try not to think about later series Liz. It hurts my soul. Meddling Liz is bad enough but still Liz. Some of the later stuff was just... ick. Finding out a fair chunk of later SVU was written by a dude made things make a lot of sense.
