7. Least Favorite arc/mini series:

   The earthquake series, I guess? I've blanked a good chunk of the later minis from memory, probably because I've only read most of them once, so this could change should I actually finish my re-read. I know the later arcs, particularly once they put the Daniel twins on the covers, do horrible things to Liz. Hell, they do horrible things to everyone.
There's a reason I haven't ventured back into that part of SV. Mostly because I prefer my SV with a healthy dose of nostalgia, but also because I remember a lot of annoyance about a lot of what was going on in the books. So we'll go with the Earthquake series because it ends SVH and a lot of what happens in it and the ensuing aftermath that is SY is a retcon of so much of early SVU. I get going out with a bang, but it went out with Devon. Fucking. Whitelaw. And death by fridge is just... Olivia deserved better.

I haven't actually read this series, mostly because end of SVH, waaah :( But yeah, between Olivia dying and Devon returning, I'm cool with the SVH snark recaps of this because seriously WTF. Nobody asked for Senior Year, did they?

I think Senior Year is sort of like the people who wanted the BSC without all the babysitting shenanigans? SY is the more realistic *cough* version of SV where the drama is less "murderous doppelganger, gangs, and every serial killer in the country coming through the door" and more girls are mean and boys are dumb. So yeah, people asked for it, but they knew not what they asked.

Ah, okay. So BABY-SITTERs Club fans who hate baby-sitting, and Sweet Valley fans who want realism in their escapist fluff. Yeah, I have nothing in common with these people, no wonder I didn't see the point :P

Yup, yup. Pretty much. They wanted to make everything more realistic or something. So yeah, take what people liked about a long running series and chuck it. Bonus points awarded if it negated part of the title. Sweet Valley became anything but sweet and who reads the baby-sitters club for the babysitting apparently.

I wouldn't have minded the more realistic bent on SY, I think, had they not just introduced a whole new cast and ignored their long running characters in the process. I didn't require vampires, werewolves, and murders to be solved on the regular. But having everyone be miserable for a good chunk of the series? No. Thank you, but no.
