9. Least Favorite Couple:

Oh, there are so many. Liz and Connor from Senior Year are awful and yet you couldn't say that in fandom at the time because you would be burned at the stake because Connor fangirls are (were?) fanatical in their love. I remember sitting there just transfixed by the sheer number of people in this very, very small fandom who adored him and adored him with Liz and it was just mind blowing. You couldn't say a thing against him or they would hunt you down and make you long for death.
Liz and Sam from SVU. He was awful for her and everyone knew it, including Liz and yet she still kept trying to make it happen and freaking out when Sam's gotta Sam.
Liz and whatshisname from the Elizabeth series. Dreadful. We don't speak about SVC but pick a couple there and it's probably awful. Liz and Devon... Devon and anyone, really. Todd and Dana were pretty ick, too. I hated that Liz and Ken were a thing because it was only there to throw a wrench in Ken and Jessica's relationship (oh, how my little shipper heart broke then). Jess and Will in SY was also pretty painful. Amy and Bruce were the absolute worst together and it killed Regina.
Clearly there were a lot of bad 'ships in this universe. :P

Date: 2018-06-11 09:42 am (UTC)Oh, yeah, J/K worked much better than L/K, but I could buy Liz and Ken finding themselves attracted to one another when Todd moved away and he basically left them in charge of one another because y'know, Todd's in charge or something. *snort* But it's one of those where it works for me because it is a very short lived thing. Justice for Ken and Jessica!
I had a whole thing in my head where I could maybe, if my brain happened to be flexible enough for the gymnastics required, maybe get why Lila would kind of sorta want Jeffrey beyond "finally, someone NEW!" and then I started to type it out and realized that no, no I did not even begin to get it. It is perhaps the best kept secret of SVH. I think the showdown between the twins would have worked better if they'd both been using their best friends as shields for their own feelings for Jeffrey and Lila just went along with it because she enjoyed getting one over on Liz in general. Enid later developing feelings for him would've just been bonus drama to mine later. As it is, Lila's continued stalking just... no.
If Frannie showed any interest in anything beyond book #20 or so, I'd say his decided lack of interest in Liz probably was his downfall for the series. Don't want in Liz's pants and you're a guy? You can't stay!
