Double Love will always remain one of my favorites because it's classic. But I would be lying if I didn't say that I adored The Wakefields of Sweet Valley, The Wakefield Saga, The Fowlers and the Patmans of Sweet Valley. The Wakefield books edge out the other two but I will forever be a huge fan of stepbacks. So. Beautiful.



SVT:

I will forever love Jessica's New Look. Partly because I believe I was gifted this about the same time I first got glasses and partly because I think the SVT models are adorable and angry Jess is just so cutely pissed off.

The Saga covers are absolutely gorgeous, I completely agree! I sometimes just pull them out to look at the stepbacks. I think the covers are a large part of the reason why I like those books so much ♥

Stepback art is my weakness in books. Particularly if it's well done. Hell, for awhile my trade-a-book type excursions were split between filling in gaps for SV/BSC and trying to find decent versions of the stepbacks for the VC Andrews books. Clearly my taste in reading material is, and always was, top notch. :p

I'm a sucker for stepback art, too. For awhile it was a trend in romance novels, and I even figured out the artist who did the ones I liked and I'd save scads of scans. That was a couple of computers ago, sadly, so I've lost that info...but yeah, you aren't the only one with a weakness for pretty pictures on questionable reading material!!
