This year's Cyber Monday sale from AG was just... not good. For me. I will say that part of the problem is that I have a coupon next month for a "free" item but you have to spend $50 to get said free item. Not sure if this means we're not getting a real Berry gift or not this year because I don't know if AG considers their stupid tiara if you go to a store their Berry gift or if they consider the "freebie" a Berry gift. Which they shouldn't because the passports went out to all Rewards members, not just Berry. So with the looming $50 overhead, this sale was probably never going to really spark much for me unless they pulled out some Lead Laws Going Into Effect- Everything Must Go awesome. (I wanna say that was around 2008/2009? Really good sale that year but it was an outlier.)
This year I nearly walked away without buying anything, but ultimately I couldn't resist tradition and bought Outdoors in Overalls for Wellies outfit, the plush reindeer, and the Pink Star Jeans that are from the Outlet.
There are a few other things that tempted me and if not for the coupon, I would likely go back for one or more of them:
- Starburst Tee, which is another Outlet find (there's also the leggings set and a sparkle and shine dress if you're completing Outlet Bingo)
- Tenney's Picnic Collection which is essentially buy the outfit, get the fried chicken accessories free.
- Kit's Mini Golf Outfit Had I liked absolutely nothing else, I would have grabbed this but throwing another $17 on top of anything else and I said nah. I do like the shoes/socks but the whole thing isn't really for me. You are free to mock me later when I decide I should've bought it. :P But only if you mock with love.
There was a Christmas Eve set with the silver glitter stocking that sold out, but I don't tend to do enough with accessories. *shrug* I already bought the Star Spangled Fan Gear (so much for Limited Edition, eh?), Rebecca's Coat, and I have Gabby's blue dress so her Fancy Collection isn't a bad price, it's just not worth it for me since I actually really do not like that dress. If it looked better on the doll, I'd probably scoop the set up because I could use the makeup bag (girl sized) as storage for something and I do want the sequin outfit.
It's not the worst sale ever if you're interested in Wellies (I could've sworn I bought that ballet outfit but my history says otherwise), pet stuff, two of the boy outfits (the dynomite and sun and fun outfits), sports outfits, or the bigger ticket items for Melody/Maryellen/Nanea... Heck, the Gabby and Tenney collections aren't bad for the price if you're interested in the contents. Z's filming collection set isn't bad either. But most of this (the collections and Outlet stuff aside) was on sale for better prices last week (free shipping/20% off I dunno) so... yeah.
Not sure if they'll be doing Daily Deals starting tomorrow or if they're hoping the Passport sales will carry them. I do have my list of things I'm allowed to buy if they go on sale which I need to go and pretty up a bit more. Oh, the other two things that tempted me a lot were the PJ sets they sold for the Wellies at Kohl's. I don't see them anymore, so I assume they sold out. Just as well. Had they still been available, I would've bought at least one set.
Time for a walk and then something to nibble as I plot how to best take down fall and set up Christmas.
