Wild Hearts Crew
Jun. 27th, 2019 09:33 amSo I've been waiting for this line:

to show up for what feels like FOREVER even though I know it hasn't been that long and also the release month was always said to be July. But I've been stalking various places and hoping. Yesterday Lori and the internet came through with SKUs and UPCs to look them up and see if Cori, Jacy, or Kenna were in stores near me. (I do wish I'd checked Lori's toy blog before spending any time just doing the random change numbers in the UPCs to find Kenna's but whatcha gonna do.) Naturally the store right down the road from me shows none of them. To be fair, Jacy isn't showing anywhere in the area, not even way out in Walterboro. Cori and Kenna are showing up in the same stores but again, not mine.
So this morning after work, even though it was truck night which means my entire body ached something fierce, I went to the Walmart on the island to see if they had Cori. I wandered the doll aisle second, after I looked at the clearance aisle (sometimes they'll shove new stuff at the end of that one) and even peeked at the stuff on the supers. No dice. So I wandered the rest of the toy aisles. Nothing even close. Still, there were a lot of dolls showing in the system for not a one to be anywhere in the store proper. I went back down the doll aisle and peered very carefully at all the boxes on the supers... and felt like a complete and total dumbass when I saw five pictures of Kenna smirking down at me, with a sixth box showing the UPC. How I missed her the first time, I do not know.
So I debated trying to find someone to help me, as the little sign on the shelf cheerfully asks me to do. But the entire time I've been in toys, no one's even walked by on their way to another section. It's just me and a thousand little plastic people. So I decide that I'll let fate decide. If I can reach her, hopefully without causing an avalanche or faceplanting, Kenna will be mine. If I can't, well, at least I know she's available... sorta. For Cori or Rallee, I'd have found someone and asked for help.
Once upon a time, this wouldn't have been a thing at all as I was pretty good at tippy toes and grabbing things, but whenever my ankle started giving me trouble, I haven't had as much luck getting the extra height, especially after a long day at work.
For a second I thought I was just going to push them all back out of reach but then I managed to grab her.
These are quick boxed pics in case I don't manage to hold off on de-boxing her until I feel less broken. They're not great and they're not really meant to be. :P

I really love the little alien on the jacket for the packaging and how the button is different for each girl. I'm going to need the other dolls to appear either in store or online without the headache of the last Walmart online order.
