impy*eyes right arm suspiciously* I wish I knew what I was doing that made it bruise randomly. This is the second time I've noticed a bruise but only after it appears in the sickly green stage.
In other news, I finally caved and ordered Joss from AG. I wasn't going to until there was a sale, but they did a 3x the points thing and at the last minute (almost literally) I placed an order for Joss and some of the new mix and match stuff that I never blathered on about.
I suppose now is as good a time as any to catch up on that, huh?
Let's just get this out of the way. When I see this Mix and Match collection, I think of it as the Dawn Schafer edit. I never did my roundup because I got lazy/burned out from work and then things started "selling out" and I didn't want to go look closer and fall in love with something that was going to be a pain to track down. However, the sold out stuff reappeared (and stuck around) and here we are.
Fresh Lemons Market Outfit // $28

This is one of those outfits I want to like more than I actually do. Maybe it's because I swear, everyone just keeps putting it on the same three dolls and it doesn't really look that good (to me) on any of them. Maybe it's because I will never love anything sleeveless from AG? I don't know. In any case, one of the reasons I should not skip doing these release roundups is that I miss things. Like that this outfit comes with the tote bag. And I actually really like the shoes and the dress has functional pockets, dammit. The more I think about it, the more I think it's that i keep getting distracted by the model dolls being used as even when I went to look specifically at the shoes, I got distracted by the complete and utter lack of lip paint on not!Josefina there. And then I got distracted by the bow.
A lot of people think of this as a supplemental Blaire outfit, and I can agree with that.

These made-for-the-market strawberry-print shorts are high-waisted for a fresh look. They feature real back pockets and rolled cuffs.
These are both adorable as hell and also a little too cutesy for words. Naturally, I bought them. When I was much younger, I didn't wear jeans. Like ever. I did, however, wear the weirdest most insanely printed shorts and I loved them SO MUCH. Until middle school, of course, when the universe decides that anything that makes you happy must be stamped out of you as painfully as possible. I'm not sure I'll ever be on board with someone saying "high-waisted" and "fresh look" in the same sentence and meaning it, but that's another thing entirely.

I waffled on this one. On the one hand, this definitely feeds into my thinking of this Mix n Match collection as the Dawn Schafer edition. Thin denim jacket? I immediately think of the Dawn doll. The problem with that is that I think of that jacket as cheap (is it? is it my brain mixing things up? Who knows.) annnnnnnnd AG shouldn't make me think of cheap fabric, ok? However, when push came to shove, I bought it because it's cute and I've heard good things.

Tie front is the work of the devil and yet this shirt was INSANELY popular. I don't even think it made it to January 3rd before there was talk of it selling out. People lost their goddamn minds over it. Which I might get, if not for the tie front. :P However, it came off backorder and it's cute and I threw it in the cart with minimal deliberation because it's pretty much perfect with the shorts, though I realize this level of coordination for an outfit is really Mallory territory.

Her doll will love this berry-pink smocked button-front tank that has fun ruffles at the hem and on the sleeves.
If one ignores the buttons, or perhaps makes them clear or possibly white, I would bet I had something similar to this at some point as a kid. My mom was big on smocked stuff and chiblet!me liked it, too. Basically, this is cute and cheery and when you've been in a funk as long as I have, you take cheery where you can get it.

It's been a looooooooooooooong while since I found a pair of AG shoes too cute to resist, and even longer still for a pair sold on their own and not bundled with an outfit. These are cute as fuck and I wasn't chancing not getting them.

The only reason I didn't pick this up is that my dolls have a fair number of hats at this point and do you know how often they wear them? NEVER. And hats are a bitch to store. If we still lived at the place where I had my walk-in doll closet, I'd have caved. But we don't and I have to actually ponder storage so for now, this remains cute but that's about it. I reserve the right to cave at any point, however, as it does bring a certain look together.

I kinda want those pink rainbow shoes in adult human size, not even gonna lie.
The appeal of the front-tie shirt is completely lost on me.
