Apparently, now through Feb 23, Rewards members can pre-order Joss's VW van. People have collectively lost their shit, as expected.

Joss's Volkswagen Surf Bus // $650
Item#GKX52
Joss loves riding to the beach in her brother Liam’s surf van—it has everything they need for a great day in the sun. They can sleep, watch videos, and hang out between surf sessions, and there’s plenty of pretend food to snack on! It has working headlights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and radio. There are sounds for the horn and ignition, and a button to push to hear a message from Joss. Plus, there’s a storage bench that folds into a bed, a pop-up stove, and a fold-out table. Set also includes:
Two graphic throw pillows for lounging
A bed pillow for sleeping
A blanket and sleeping bag for camping out in the van
A mattress for the fold-out bed
A patterned rug to keep sand off the van floor
A beach scene towel for drying off
Two sticker sheets to decorate the interior and exterior of the van
Cooking supplies including a pot, a pan, and tongs for making meals on the pullout stove
A vase and flower for the dashboard
A laptop with two reversible laptop screens to edit videos and register for the cheer team

A juice can and a smoothie bottle
A burrito and a sandwich for quick grab-and-go lunches
A parfait with fruit, yogurt, and granola and a spoon to eat it with
A bag of pretzels to snack on

Normally I don't include all the disclaimers but how often is AG going to sell something for $675? Indeed. I keep typing $675, and I've left it this second time, because it *is* that much once you factor in the shipping surcharge. If you can buy this in store, sure, it'll be $650, but otherwise or to partake in the preorder? It's $675 at the absolute least, before tax. Which is all to say this will never be mine and I'm okay with that. For that kind of money, one could in theory buy an actual car. A shitty car, but a car nonetheless. I like the extra bits and bobs but I hold no illusions that any of this will be available as a replacement part and if by some miracle it is, you'll probably have to provide proof of life (not just purchase, but life) in order to get them. So cue the whining about not being able to get the stuff in 3...2...
Mostly because people are already complaining about the price like it was a surprise. If anyone here is shocked by the price or wants to complain, that's fine/cool/allowed/possibly encouraged. But on the boards where the rumors have never dipped below $600 and I swear the $650 bit was floated for so long that I didn't even blink when I saw it this morning? Nah, the signs were all there. I do get people not wanting to pay the shipping surcharge, and I honestly think AG should've waived it for the preorder since they have the bit about not being able to sign up today and have it count as being a member for this preorder. Encourage people to get their pre-order on, dammit. As it is, three days of being able to preorder it, not have it in hand, is kinda...meh. This does lend credence to the theory that Feb 24th is the release date for the other goodies we've been waiting on.
Work is work. Apparently Ms. G overheard someone tell another person not to bother putting something away because third shift would. The fuck you say? My job is not to pick up after you, coworkers. It's at the point where we take their baskets of crap and pile all the stuff they don't bother to put up and leave it, letting the shift lead know so they can tell the day shift lead to have their workers do their goddamn job. But my favorite that I've personally witnessed, is the guy who will write all these notes, wrap them around the stolen/broken items and... leave them on the counter. Dude, there's a bin in the back for that! You don't even need the notes! For fuck's sake.
Anyway, plumber is coming back today so I'm off to snooze.
