Dec. 16th, 2020 10:06 pmThe first thing I warn people about when they sign up for third shift is that you actually do need to get sleep and not just... nap for half an hour each day and call it good. The second thing I warn them is that you lose any and all sense of time after awhile. No one believes me on the first and after 2020, I suspect everyone feels the second.
My internal clock is so messed up right now because I've worked a weird schedule the last two weeks and now, here it is my normal second day of work and I'm not at work and also I didn't sleep properly today because I HAD SO MUCH TO DO and there's the tiny twinge of worry that likes to grow to klaxon alarms at random times and yes, this is a run-on from hell but that's how my brain is working right now. So this feels like a Sunday to me because I'm off and I did my stay up, don't sleep thing and yet it's Wednesday. Trash day. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I keep forgetting that. To be fair, part of the brain wonkiness is most likely due to lack of sleep, but I can't sleep til after my shower and I can't shower until Mums gets her final at home prep thing out of the way.
Apparently tomorrow, while I wait for them to call me with information, I will be doing laundry and baking cookies. Woo?
Now. Back to trying to pretend I am not worrying too much.

Date: 2020-12-17 05:34 pm (UTC)I've just started my first round of cookies and my first load of laundry. Trying to decide whether I want to find Hallmark or Lifetime holiday trash to pause every 15 minutes, read, or hit up youtube. Good luck with your laundry!

Date: 2020-12-17 05:43 pm (UTC)Laundry is in the dryer, woot! I'm actually having more issues with the dishwasher - we're on Round 4 of the same load because apparently my soap capsules are broken? LOL, I'm going to have buy some liquid detergent (and probably end up handwashing these because this is ridiculous!)
I finally had the urge to scan all my vintage romance covers last evening, so I've been sorting those. I'm contemplating updating LibraryThing between work emails today.

Date: 2020-12-17 05:57 pm (UTC)I feel your pain on the dishwasher. Ours did not like the pacs before it died (to be fair, it probably never liked them) so it required a few rewashings. Dryer! Woo! (Look, I'm celebrating what I can.)
Halloween the cat is purrfection and it's not just anyone who can pull off the cone of shame as a Look.
