impyI wasn't super productive on my days off and as my second one wound to a close, I realized part of why. Ah, super fun period moodiness strikes again. I get very protective of my sleep at a certain point annnnnnnnd since I spent every single day I was at work last week having to sling heavy totes or boxes around, I needed a rest. I guess. That's what I'm telling my sea slug self, anyway.
To counteract that a bit, and because Cass has made rumblings about wanting to give Bitty of the Damned to her chiblet, I decided I should actually try on the most recent outfits I bought for BotD/my Bitty Twin. Cass and I split a pair of identical Bitty Twins eons ago and she named them and I swear to god I got the one named Hope but literally every time I've ever mentioned them, she says hers is named Hope. So I guess we both believe we have Hope. :p
Bitty of the Damned, for those who need a refresher course, is an ebay rescue who scares/startles the hell out of people for a variety of reasons. 1) I think she's technically an Our New Baby or a really early Bitty Baby because she's got blonde eyelashes which can freak people out on their own. 2) She's got a serious case of silver eye and bubble eye. 3) In her past life she snorted a LOT of glitter paint and I could not get it all off during my time actively spent trying to clean her up. To be fair, it's now kind of her look. She's lived with me for most of her life because she freaks Matt out. Bitty of the Damned, as the name suggests, freaks a lot of people out. One year she hung out near the Halloween candy bowl. We had a lot of leftover candy that year.
I have grown fond of BotD over the years, and should I ever choose to have a BB of my own, I honestly think this is one case where I would want to go old freaky school and get one like her. But part of that may also be because I think the new BBs are freaky in a boring way.
Anyway. Part of the ongoing gag is that because BotD is well, damned, she's not fond of the prissier things in life, so sometimes AG comes out with things that just scream, "do it and die painfully." Truly, my doll collecting ways are not meant to be understood by most.
Since Cass has basically been hinting that one of these days very soon I'm gonna need to hand over BOTD, I fished her out of the closet to make sure I was right and could still easily grab her when the time comes. This is what she's been wearing, which is not the outfit I expected. I thought she was still in her red dress of doooooooom. This outfit is still very cozy and very easy to put on (the shoes are a bit of a pain but nothing terrible) and yeah, this one is mine as are most of the outfits BotD has accumulated over her stint here. Sorry, goddaughter.
This is the most recent addition to the Bitty outfit pile and this one was not actually bought for BotD. It really was bought for Hope with a layover in wondering how it looks on the regular AG girls. I... don't actually like it at all on BotD. The headband is a PITA to put on and I shudder to think what'll happen if you try it on any of the brunette/dark hair dolls because I imagine it'll scrape the paint right the fuck off their head. :/
Because of the lack of light in my room, you can't really tell but the shoes are a rose gold color which is fine but matches absolutely nothing in the dress/headband and really should've been just regular ol' pink. Also, someone else mentioned that the edges there aren't done properly so all the fraying in all the land is happening.
I shall not keep you wondering about how it looks on the larger dolls. Ignore Sonali's shoes as I didn't see the point in changing them since BB shoes don't really look right, ever, on the 18 inch dolls. The dress might work okay if you like your outfits to skew younger but the bow is too big and I think this is one of the few cases of something looking better in photos than in reality. Not the dress itself, but how it looks on the doll. In person it's just not right. Maybe someone other than Sonali (I can't think of any of my dolls that I think look younger than the rest but there's always at least one) but she looks like someone's great aunt sent her an outfit that technically fits but is years too young for her.

However, you can see that the embroidery goes all the way around and is actually legit and not just printed on.
In general, I still like the dress and I don't regret buying it, but I did get mine at a small discount so that helps.
If you look very closely, you can see as BotD threatens me with a knife. Imagine it in her little hand. She will make me pay for this. Oh yes, she will. Also, still a llama not a reindeer, AG. I will say that if I'd paid anywhere near full price for this, I'd be pissed. This thing was IMPOSSIBLE to get on BotD and I don't think she's particularly well stuffed. I admit I don't know how ~fluffy~ the BBs are these days but I can't imagine they'd be too much skinnier because babies are still meant to be basically chunkier, right? Anyway, due to how soft the plush is on this outfit and the fact that this is all one piece, trying to get the legs/feet on properly is a pain because you have no traction. And if you can't get the feet on properly, you won't get the rest of the outfit on either. It's just a pain. Very, very soft though. The hat doesn't really go with the outfit, as the reds are slightly different. So for clearance price? Sure. For full price? No.
(If I am murdered by an inanimate object, well, I guess that's how it goes. But seriously, BotD looks ready to murder me.)
I debated on whether to put Sonali in some of Courtney's clothes or try out the last of the uh, Sweet Street (for a line I loved, I sure as hell cannot remember the name of it) MnM and I chose poorly. I think the colors work on Sonali but I forgot that her body isn't really a match for her limbs so yeah. Still, cute, and we have matching shorts types even if mine are black and covered in rainbow skulls while hers are not.
I also thought I would share pics of Leon and Damon. Behold.
They are very little and very cute.
Damon is also 100% done with this BS
while Leon is just happy to be invited to the party.
