We've got Courtney's mix and match, the new holiday mix and match, and sneak peaks of more of the World By Us stuff, and holiday looks beyond just plain red dress. Ooh. Ahh. Oh, and the collector dollS (yes, 2) for the year.

Courtney's Oversized Blazer //$18
Item# HBK56
This ’80s style black woven blazer is oversized and over-the-top awesome. It has a pink button front, pink contrast cuffs on the three-quarter length sleeves, and a pink polka-dot flower brooch attached to the chest.

I know it says it's oversized but is it really though? It's not. And it makes a difference. I think I get the look they were going for here but I don't really love it, which is a shame because this feels like something one should snag for Sophisticated Stacey and Artistic Claudia but...meh. I know prices on things are rising but $18 for this feels just wrong. This is going to be my new nemesis from Courtney's collection, isn't it?

Courtney's Tank Top Set //$16
Item#HBK51
For a totally tubular look, Courtney can pair these tops with any of her totally rad bottoms. The set includes a cropped black-and-white houndstooth patterned tank and a bright blue knit tank with an ’80s graphic on the front.

I'm pretty sure that for most of these things I've already said what I needed/wanted to, but I wanted the ~official~ post so here we are. I plan on buying this set at some point, but I'm not super hyped about it right this second.

Courtney's Tights and Leggings Set // $16
Item#HBK48
Courtney rocks the ’80s lots-of-layers look by pairing yellow knit tights and mid-calf length black knit leggings with skirts and shorts to create casual school outfits and special looks for hanging at the arcade.

I don't know why I love this set. I'm not a super big yellow fan but these are so damn cheerful and sunny that I can't resist. I mean, I will for now because $16 is not my favorite price point but still. On the list they go.

image host
Courtney's White Fringe Jacket // $20
Item#HBK52
When Courtney wants to totally take her look to another level, she can layer this white faux-leather jacket over just about any outfit. It has fun fringe detail on the arms and across the chest, and a button on the front.

Yes, people are still drooling over the Sloane jacket. I kinda hate the one giant button thing. Why. Why is this a thing? Also, damn. $20.

image host
Courtney's Skirt Set // $16
Item#HBK49
With two lengths to choose from, Courtney can pick a short hot-pink knit skirt with black polka-dots for the school dance and a knee-length black-and-white houndstooth skirt for campaigning with her mom.

Dying that the short skirt is their pick for the school outfit length. DYING. But I still see these and think Jessica Wakefield so they're definitely on the list.

Courtney's Awesome Accessories // $16
Item#HBK46
Courtney can add a pretty in pink vibe to any of her outfits with this set that includes:
A hot pink felt porkpie-style hat with a turned-up brim
A wide pink belt with a round yellow plastic buckle and a pull-through closure
A pair of pink molded jelly shoes

JELLIES. Honestly the rest of these accessories could fuck off and I wouldn't care, but you can add me to the list of kids who lived in jellies. I must admit that I had a preference for the styles and this was not my prefered look but y'know, jellies. The belt still makes me wonder if I somehow missed actual people wearing this look or if it was really just a doll/fictional thing. Ugh. Felt hat. Ugh. My skin crawls just thinking about having to touch this.

Courtney's Cropped Pink Polka Dot Top // $12
Item#HBK57
Courtney’s hot-pink top is cropped above the waist and patterned with black polka dots. She can wear it to the mall with her pleated shorts or pair it with a matching miniskirt for a dance party with Tina.

I see AG decided to go full Stephanie Tanner for this release since the last one flirted with DJ. It's... a choice. Anyway, I'm on the fence for this one. I hate the neckline but it's accurate. And we've previously discussed my kind of love for the polka dots so... yeah. On the list.

image host
Courtney's Graphic Sweatshirt // $16
Item#HBK50
Oversized was all the rage in the ’80s, and this is Courtney’s favorite sweatshirt to wear to school and the mall. It has a wide neckline and drop shoulders, plus a bright multicolored graphic on the front.

AG, you keep using the word oversized for things you didn't bother to actually make oversized. I do not think you know what this word means. Like the blazer, I get the look they were going for, and unlike the blazer, this one works without needing to be oversized. It'd probably be better, but it still works. It's just not exactly the look they were shooting for then.

image host
Courtney's Pleated Shorts // $12
Item#HBK55
These blue woven shorts have plenty of preppy pleats and turned up cuffs and they’re just right to layer with leggings or tights. They’re easy to fasten with a hook and loop closure.

Still love these more than I should.

image host
So. I had thought while looking at the pictures of the mix and match potential going on here.

If Courtney's first round of clothes basically captured the uglier side of 80's clothes, this is definitely the set of clothing that most people were expecting. Bright colors, squiggle prints, jellies. Ooh. Ahh.

Frosty Frills Sparkle Sweater // $12
Item#HBW41
This rosy, cozy sweater sparkles with lurex and sequins, plus a splash of rhinestones at the neckline. Part of the AG Fashion Show® Frosty Frills™ Collection!

Some things stick with you as a kid and you just never forget them. The rhinestones? Yeah, those bugged me when I was little and I never managed to shake that annoyance. I don't even remember WHY. They just did/do. I do like this when paired with the matching skirt but I really wish they'd just put them together as a proper outfit and not pretended they could mix and match freely with the other pieces.

Frosty Frills Skirt // $16
Item#HBW47
Fancy up any outfit with frills! This tiered pink skirt has a top layer of sweater knit with shiny lurex and sequins and four rows of gathered tulle attached to a taffeta lining, plus a satin waistband with a sweet bow. Part of the AG Fashion Show® Frosty Frills™ Collection!

This skirt is probably one of the few things I tentatively have on the list of wants, but I also wish they'd just made this and the matching sweater a dress and called it a day. I wonder if we'll ever get to the day when I could get this in black, because I'd have already bought it.

Twice As Nice Reversible Skirt // $16
Item#HBW39
Holiday gatherings will be double the fun in this reversible skirt. One side is pleated metallic fabric and the other is two layers of sparkle mesh. Part of the AG Fashion Show® Frosty Frills™ Collection!

If you could've seen the faces I made trying to figure this look out. Comedy gold, I'm sure. I... have a skirt that isn't meant to be worn as a reversible deal but every so often, since it's my lounge around the house and maybe run to the mailbox at most skirt, I'll wear it essentially inside out because it's kind of interesting that way. This one feels similar in that I kinda like it more than I thought I would but also kind of dislike it more than I thought, too. Complicated. I won't be heartbroken if I don't snag it because I can tell that getting it to match anything beyond the shirt I loathe is going to be... fun.

Royal Ruffles Tee // $10
Item#HBW43
Give any outfit the royal treatment with this long-sleeved white tee that has a glittery tiara print on the front and mesh bows at the neckline. Part of the AG Fashion Show® Frosty Frills™ Collection!

I hate the bows at the neckline. Make a necklace, AG, if you want visual interest there. I may be the only person who hates it, I don't know. But it took a cute enough shirt and made it an easy pass.

Sprinkled With Frost Leggings and Tights // $16
Item#HBW46
Add a little luxe with these light-pink tights that have a shimmer of lurex or the gray heathered-jersey leggings with a silver sequin overlay on the front. Part of the AG Fashion Show® Frosty Frills™ Collection!

I actually want these, but I'm cackling at them not being really shown in much of the mix and match stuff so far. Like they just forgot they had these pieces and had to scramble to include them.

image host
Frosty Sparkle Flats // $10
Item#HBW45
It’s easy to sparkle from head to toe by adding these blush pink pointed-toe glitter flats with crisscross ankle straps to any outfit.

I kinda like these and kind of don't. They look like the type to have the glitter be scratchy and not encased in plastic so I'd probably pass even if they did truly match the mix and match stuff. But they don't, as they're more pink than anything else so far. I'll keep an eye out for reviews on the glitter sitch, though. Scratchy is an automatic no, even if I do love me some glitter.

Furry Flurry Boots // $16
Item#HBW44
Keep toes cozy with these fancy cream boots. They have white faux fur at the cuffs and a velvet silver bow on the side.

I believe every year we discuss how I have a few white furry boots and how they always remind me of Disney Channel villains, right? Right. But I want to pet those velvet bows. Why're you so expensive, boots? These boots also make me long for winters that we don't get and wish that we had an AG store nearby because I'd totally be fabulous at that job and I don't know why THESE boots prompted that thought, but they did.

image host image host image host image host
Frosty Frills Vest // $18
Item#HBW40
So soft and snuggly, this houndstooth-pattern vest has a shimmer of lurex woven throughout, plus a plush white faux-fur collar to keep out the cold.

I am overheating just looking at this outfit styled. Overheating! Ugh. Too much, AG, it's just too much. I remember thinking we might get a jacket for this but I guess they're just going to put it over the long sleeved tee and call it good. I mean, it covers up that piece's obnoxious neckline with its own so... eh. I won't be buying this and I swear they've done it before in a different color.

Frosty Frills Accessories // $12
Item#HBW38
Think frills, not chills, with these oh-so-toasty accessories: a pair of furry pink earmuffs and a pair of white mittens with embroidered hearts.

I think these are cute and I might be tempted at some point, simply because I think all the doll earmuffs I own are white.

Cackling that due to the size and limitations of this mix and match release, there are no additional mix and match options that haven't been shown beyond the outfits they trot out for the individual pieces to be shown. It's not my favorite collection but it's not my least favorite either. Favorite is the Sweet Street Collection and least is the Spring 2017 one, in case you wondered.

Now, since you're already here, let's peek at the next round of stuff coming down the pike courtesy of Alex Perreault over on IG.

We begin with the book covers that I'm only sharing because I haven't been keeping up with such things.

Makena's art is adorable but I still loathe that spelling of her name. LOATHE.

image host image host
I don't get people who think this picture of Makena is somehow that different from the last one and is SO MUCH BETTER. Like...wtf? I dig her jacket enough that the set will come home with me at some point but the doll's face somehow looks even more squished here. Maybe it's because I thought she looked cute the last time but this is just a small, watermarked photo that's not doing her any favors. *shrug*

image host image host
Mmmkay. I feel like the colors on this one are wonky but I'm not sure if getting a pumpkin orange dress is better or worse. *muse* I do think it's a bad look to have the ~diverse~ line look like it's being headed up by two white girls and a black girl, though Evette's book cover does make her look mixed. Too bad the doll reads as white. I don't really love her accessories but I don't hate them.

image host image host
Oh, Maritza. Why does your jacket match your water bottle? And why do they keep pushing the fanny packs? Really, this round of photos is a major downgrade from the last as this just makes her look cross-eyed. Love you, M, but we'll just pretend this never happened.

imgbox
I love the heart throw pillow. I hate the plastic couch and how no one seems to be catching that it's most definitely a plastic couch, which is totally a thing they'd normally be flipping tables over. It looks cheap as hell. :/

imgbox
I also have a blue glue gun and I kinda want this set just for that. I'm not likely to do it just for that, but I am curious as to what the price will be and what else you get. Don't love the chair or table style, but I do love the dolls getting crafty.

image host
This is one of those things where I kind of need to see the other sides to figure out if it's nifty or just one of those ideas where AG maybe didn't commit enough or went off the rails. As is? No. Needs a chair at the very least to complete things. Also, all the colors together is giving me a massive headache.

image host
Everyone was too busy losing their minds over the "love wins" sticker/magnet for the mini-fridge (and then over the fridge itself) to pay attention to anything else. On the one hand, in your face, pearl clutchers! On the other hand, I really hope people aren't reading too much into this just to get let down. I did love that people had to explain that this was, in fact, meant to be a mini fridge and that yes, kids outside of college have them.

image host
Mmkay. There's somehow too much and not enough going on here. If not for the tiara and purse, I'd wonder if this was going to be like one of the dresses last year where they made one for BB, WW, and the 18inch dolls and then staggered the release like they didn't know what they were doing. But with the accessories, this feels like maybe they're actually going to try and make this their holiday dress offering? It's funny because while I don't think it works for the bigger dolls, I do love it on the Wellies.

image host
Adorable! I love it.

image host
The shoes are their boring flats but with glitter, right? Fine, whatever, gimme the pretty blue and silver dress. Give it to meeeeeeeeeeee. I could actually do without the huge ass bow on the side but I like the print around the bottom so I'll deal. Gimme. Now.

image host
This is going to be one of those times when you applaud AG for doing the thing while prepping for people to be absolute jackasses about it, isn't it?

image host
I'd been hoping we'd get these outfits released (I can't remember if this one was in the possible leak way earlier in the year) and yay!

image host
Why are your shoes not the pretty, pretty gold and instead the greenish gold that is just a travesty? Still, lovely.

image host
GIMME.

image host
Oh, we get two collector dolls this year. Blondie has pink streaks and the classic mold and brunette has red in her wig like Jess (and Ruthie) with the Sonali mold. I... don't want to know what they'll cost.

Not including the ornament because I don't caaaaaaaaaaaare enough to hunt it down again and we'll just be doing this again in a month or so with official pics anyway.
