Guess who was Employee of the Month for May?
This bitch. And in case you wondered how much that gift card was worth, it was ten whole bucks. OOOH. AHHH. Jealous, I know. :P
In other work related news: they tried to hire someone to work Saturdays with me but she disappeared from the office sometime in the middle of the night and I don't think she's coming back. ;_;
More work news: I believe a few months ago I bored you senseless with the tale of the chick who took at least three hours to checkout, right? Well, she came back Wednesday night. But with a boyfriend. And it took them two hours to check out this time. It ruined my night, honestly, because I got put on babysitting duty. So instead of continuing to power through my totes, I wound up having to just... lurk. It didn't speed her up any. She was in the store for at least 6 hours. Ma'am, I'm only in the store this long because I work there and they pay me, mmkay?
The last two nights have had super weird storms blow up just as I'm about to go to work. Wednesday night we lost power just as I finished getting dressed, so Widget went with us just in case. Last night half the island lost power (sadly, not work) but the storm didn't start until Mom went outside. It was nerve-wracking watching the lightning go off and the wind blow like crazy.
Unrelated to work news, I am sulking that I don't live near L.A. because this weekend there's an Arcane pop-up where you can get a nifty artbook for free and also neat little 'newspapers' and For Your Consideration 'magazines' and I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant. Alas, I must settle for the neat little voicemail you can hear if you call the number on the newspaper stand.
Oh, finally got around to starting You and it's addictive as hell.

Date: 2022-06-28 12:44 am (UTC)How does anyone spend 6 hours in a store?! I just don't get that at all.

Date: 2022-06-28 01:15 am (UTC)Seriously though, I truly do not understand the people that do it. I can kind of get the ones who spend a couple of hours in an attempt to avoid going home/soaking up the AC, and basically seem to look at every single thing we sell. But only kind of.
Thanks!
