Merry Christmas!

I'm doing my best to ignore the list of things that are conspiring against this Christmas (working alone on the busiest night of the year, my sore throat) and just concentrate on the little things that are nice.
It's cold as fuck here, like it is for a lot of places. It's very weird to have a Christmas Eve actually be cold, as Charleston Christmases are usually warm and wet. :p There was 2020 when Mom was in the hospital and it felt like pre-hurricane outside, warm and very, very breezy. But today I had to pull my sweater up over my mouth on the jaunt home from the friggin' trashcan because it was so cold. It's 28 degrees out there and "feels like" 16. I... honestly don't think I remember a Christmas Eve so cold here, and that includes '89 when it snowed. While we're here and I'm talking about weather for the holiday, I'll share how my brain thinks of Christmas weather from my childhood:
One year I got snap on skates for Christmas and naturally wanted to use them ASAP. It was so warm outside that I was in short-shorts and still had a tan (so, before 3rd or 4th grade, I guess) annnnnnnd this is also probably the same year I'm in a similar outfit for that year's visit with Santa picture.
But most years I go to work and it's warm and rainy.
I wrapped my presents a few days ago and Adora's been very good at not stealing the bows (we give her bows to play with as she adores chasing them all around the house), but I will not be surprised if I come home tomorrow and she's taken them all out.
Widget is spending the holiday with his mother in NC so I'm in charge of the boys. I warned him that I'd introduce the kitties to each other officially once he was gone. It didn't go as well as I hoped but it wasn't terrible. DD is normally pretty easy going but he was not into the idea of Adora (my dude, you knew she existed) while Loki would hiss but tried to go past her on the steps and seemed content to just...ignore her until she jumped and freaked out. I'm wondering if maybe having the two black cats hang out would work better, thus keeping the possibility of them cornering her (or her being stuck between them in the hall again) from happening. I did nearly lock her in Widget's room because I didn't realize she was in there. Luckily for her, I did think of the possibility and the boys drifted out before she appeared.
Adora's still taking the tree out, piece by piece. Silly kitty.
Anyway. Cat tax:

Daredevil is normally my sweet boy who lets me pet his tummy. You'll notice Adora's tail is ploofy, and that's because DD is in the doorway hissing at her. Loki wants to know what the hell is going on and also is it cool if he eats the crunchies on the floor (the bag had a rip on the bottom and did anyone tell me? Nooooo.)
I admit I mocked my brother for confusing his cat and mine but if you're not paying attention, they do look more alike than I thought.
Now to finish my drink and then pass the fuck out. I hope your holiday is/was wonderful. ♥
