impy: TJ from Recess wondering WTF? (TJ wtf)

My sense of smell is sorta kind of coming back, very slowly. Like I painted my nails and couldn't really smell that but if I shove my nose into a BBW candle, I can catch the faintest whiff of a scent. And the polish I can tell there's a chemical smell going on, I just can't tell what it really is beyond headache inducing. Honestly, everything's been pinging my headache twinges since Sunday so there's that. If you told me it was my brain just being so confused by not being able to tell shit, I'd believe you.

I feel okay. I'd say fine but fine brings to mind actually feeling like nothing's amiss and that's not the case. I don't feel bad, I just don't feel well yet. Probably because there's still congestion going on. But because we live in a capitalistic hellscape, I will likely be slapping on a mask and going to work tonight. Yay. I may revise this plan if I feel worse or Mums does (particularly after her dizzy spell yesterday) but since work cut out paid leave for COVID last year or the year before, and I don't have that much PTO AND they're going with the whole CDC guidelines of "your symptoms better? You're good. Mask up and head back to hell." you see where we are.

In my previous post, I think I spoke too soon about finding the right amount of appreciation for SVH's TV series. I watched another six or so episodes (I think I'm down to the Sam eps?) annnnnnnnnnd other than the Christmas episode which is cute, that run was not as much fun. How the actual fuck do you adapt the cheerleader arc, including the Ken portion of the story (well, some of it) and make it BORING? HOW. IS. THAT. POSSIBLE?!?

Also, Ken Matthews was done dirty beyond seeming nice enough.

The latest version of COVID has been less severe, so you might actually feel almost okay and still have it. You were definitely contagious before you started showing symptoms, though, so *shrug* I'm sorry you finally got it, but yeah. This is why I still mask up EVERYWHERE I go. I am one of the few, but hell. I don't want your cold, flu, or any kind of virus, thank you.

Yes, lack of pay really sucks. So many people are acting like "eh, it's over" that I just want to scream. There are some of us left in the world who haven't had it and don't want to get it! And through benefit of mask-wearing haven't had any major respiratory illness in over 3 years! UGH. I'm sorry that you had to work while feeling this shitty.

We're still officially masking at work, at least in patient areas. I also mask at by desk because I'm sitting in front of ongoing construction and have already had experience getting sick from it, ugh. I'm to the point where I don't know what I'm going to do when it goes away. It feels weird to be out in public barefaced, LOL.
