CB thoughts

impyNot gonna let sinus hell keep us down. Not yet, anyway. So, let's look at some pretty, fluffy bears, shall we? Well, there are other critters running about but for the sake of ease, we'll just go with bears.
Since the official launch happened yesterday, I'm free to just blather wildly and so I shall because future!me might have some questions about why I was such a dingbat. :P
I was kind of hoping the other videos that popped up overnight would be a little more detailed on those not showcased on the premiere but when I woke up (I fell asleep around 10-ish) briefly, I realized it was likely they were just going to edit the big video into smaller bits so that if you're only interested in say, the Plumo bears, you can just easily watch that section. And sure enough, that's what happened. Which was a bit of a bummer but luckily for me, most of my preorders and curiosities were at least seen well enough to give me more of an idea of what they'll actually look like.
We shall not be stopping in with the mohair bears because CBs are expensive enough as is and while the puppies are so cute it physically pains me, I cannot afford to pay too much attention to them.
We begin with the Bearhouse collection which is probably the most fantastic section of all.
Gonna try not to do fullsize here, but click to experience the wonder for yourself.
Not going to do the whole screencap the whole screen for all or even most of these, but given how unusual this collection is, I had to start off here. Plus, y'know, I do like seeing how they have the background bears styled.
General thoughts: The dinos are adorable and I'm still gonna need someone to take E. Normous out and about on the town. I NEED this to happen, universe. I do wish they'd given a spotlight on Atlas (the one Charlie there is holding) because it's pretty much the one I can't wrap my head fully around. Poor Stompy (woolly rhino) got the short end of the stick, as did Titan whose antlers do seem to be as big an issue as I feared. Woozy the Dodo is cuter than she has any right to be and Fang is very, very cute. Mums awwed over Tardy and Fang when I was showing her Mighty, who is definitely on Maybe list because look at this face:
But my favorite is actually one of my preorders:
Cave!
I spent a good chunk of time hoping we'd get a close up and then I got a spotlight and nearly squeed myself out of existence. THAT. FACE. And Q1 so maybe hell won't freeze before I get him?
Gonna focus on my preorders and then swing back around to those that either hit my maybe list or fell off due to a closer look, and then some that are just worth showing because I like cute/interesting things and why the hell not.
The Planet bears! I didn't preorder Pluto (the red one) but I did go for Jupiter (green) and Neptune (blue) and while I suspect that it's going to be a serious case of individual bears will vary, I'm very glad I did go ahead and put Neptune on the list since I like this one a lot. Neptune is also Q2, so that's exciting, while Jupiter is Q3. So far I've tried to space (heh) out my wants, quarter wise, but being in the US, I fully expect that to not matter a whole hell of a lot, sadly.
Finally, we have Foggy. I'm not entirely sure I'll love the color (greens are tricksters) when I get mine/get to choose, but tis so unusual that I just had to put myself on the list. And I think she's very pretty here. That nose! Sorry. Also Q3, so I didn't quite hit one for each quarter but not terrible.
While we have her, Smog is on my mebbe list. I love the colors used but I also know how I feel about the longer, fluffier furred bears. I love how they look but don't love how they feel and then I feel disappointed. So Smog remains on the maybe list.
Now, let's pan out...
Aneta and Avril in the upper corner are cute but I don't think I'll cave because of the fur.
Speaking of fur...
Easily my favorite trio. If they were shorter haired plush, I'd be screwed because I'd want them all. As it is, even KNOWING how I'd likely feel about them in person, I still have them all on my maybe list, with orange Harvest being pretty high up, though Rose and Blue are still also there. Harvest's just more of a standout due to the colors and the fact that Mom asked, "are they wearing feathers?"
Which was pretty similar to her reaction to the dragon hatchlings. I still can't wrap my head around these two either. While the Moons are a want based on how pretty they are but knowing reality is likely to be a harsh mistress, the hatchlings are just confusion. Without the hairy fur, I'd probably want them both... but at the same time I suspect the hairy fur is what's making them really standout. In any case, they're not on my list but this could later come back to bite me since how they're styled here is cute as hell.
Speaking of styling, loved this combo. Annette (who the hell decided to have Aneta and Annette in the same year and both be super colorful?) is gorgeous and Swish is a very cute unicorn, even if I'm likely safe from both. Younger!me is swooning anyway.
Still don't know how I feel about Terence and Tessa here. Sometimes I'd see them in the background and think "GIMME" and then this shot said, "mmm, probably not?" It's the curly fur, I think.
Sakura bunny here is probably the one I'm most tempted by but I think I'll leave her to fate. If one finds me at the time, it was meant to be.
Currant Bun's orange nose gives me such joy each time I see it. I'm just not sure how I feel about such a busy print for the bear, so for now I admire from afar. Choccy Biccy is also cute.
The veggies also give me joy, particularly Chantenay the baby carrot.
I'm apparently feeling very kindly towards the more colorful bears, particularly the orange ones, as Honeycomb is one I'm going to keep an eye on. I definitely think this quarter will hinge very much on individual faces, but they're all very cute.
Cheddar and Yarg are both adorable enough to include here but not on my official watch list.
Not sure about Annie Versary here (though this did put her on the watch list) because honestly, Carnival's bright colors are glorious but I do enjoy Annie just being Annie. Mostly included because that horse's eye freaks me the fuck out and I needed someone else to freak out, too. You're welcome.
I also love how disgruntled she looks in the background while Tusk just seems like the sweetest little angel baby.
I actually find myself really liking Siesta (the purple flowery bow) but at this point Q3 is gonna be painful enough as is so I'm trying to be good here.
I do think I knocked Vanilla Pudding off my list as their fur just isn't giving me the softest vibes.
I leave you with the moment I laughed out loud, literally. I need you all to take a moment to admire the look of absolute MURDER on Piggledy's face:
He is SICK of this bullshit and not going to take it anymore and don't you think that just because he's tiny he can't absolutely take you out because HE WILL END YOU.
