Jan. 2nd, 2024 02:54 amGonna nap in a little bit, but tis the New Year and I'm trying to decide whether to do laundry now or wait til I wake up. *muse*
Anyway, if you're like me and wanted something to rewatch, Xena is on Amazon Prime, so if you need me for the foreseeable future, that's where I'll be. I'm tempted to skip straight to episodes I know I love (hello, Callisto) but I also want to watch the series unfold, so for now Mums and I are doing that.
No update on the oven, but the fudge I made Sunday is disappearing very quickly and damn I did a good job. Gonna have to check the weather again to see which day is best to do the second round, since fudge works best on cold mornings and our allotment of those is very small. Well, cold and not rainy, which cuts it down even more.
Spent the first looking over the Disney ILY 4Ever dolls (the smaller non-AG sized series) trying to figure out which dolls I like best since it looks very much like the line is doing the thing where they just mildly tweak one doll and rerelease said doll with a new outfit. Which works for regular doll lines because they're characters and you're meant to be attached to them. But the ILY line is about the Disney character that doll is repping, and since it's not tied to any one doll, that means the sky should theoretically be the limit on how they choose to use the molds they already have in play. I don't get it, but since Lori thoughtfully shared really good comparison pics, I can easily go through and figure out which version of the doll I like. We'll be using the pics from this IG to make our choices:

It also feels weird to have not spent the first looking at AG offerings, so I had to spend some doll time somewhere.
The boys: I'm not sure why they just keep re-releasing the same doll here. Yes, technically the Aladdin doll is darker but it's only noticeable when they're side by side OR if you're a huge fan and this is your fandom hill to die on. I'm picky on my boy dolls and thus far none of these have spoken to me enough to grab any. To be fair, I'd have totally grabbed the holiday pack had I seen it and had money at the same time, but not for him.
Blondies: I really love Bambi's doll, but EvilQueen's dress. This is one of the cases where I do plan on getting both of those. Sorry, Jasmine.
Asian/Black hair: I'm glad I waited on the original Tiana as I do really like the new Ariel/Ursula one. But there's no reason these two should be damn near identical. None.
Brunette, round 1: They really did just swap Tiana and Ariel fans, huh? I picked up the Usula version last night but will probably pass on the other two UNLESS I find one in person who doesn't have the cross-eyed wonk or has it but I find it cute in person. The Tiana variation doesn't seem as prone to it yet, so that's something. Her hair streaks though are so random.
Black dolls: Not sure why I never wound up getting Belle, though yesterday I meant to while Disney had free shipping. Oops. She was/is either my first or second fave from the initial launch. I picked up Mickey yesterday because I loooooooooooove her and the lack of eye wonk with the painted eyes? Yes, please. Plus that outfit. I will forever have a soft spot for red/black/white due to the Sleepover Friends and Stephanie Green. Holiday inspired is cute, but I actually like Elsa more. Well. The doll. Her clothes are crap and Disney should feel bad.
Curls for Days: Apparently I only ever bought the Snow White one, but wtf did they do to her when she went to the Punzie side? Why is the yellow so... that yellow? Without the yellow (c'mon, purple or pink, or even a golden blonde would've worked so much better), I'd buy her for Pascal alone. With it, I am ticked.
Brunette, round 2: I...really do love the Cinderella version, but I don't find her different enough from the Belle version to justify both, and I like the Belle version just a smidge more. Minnie is cute but I think I prefer the other two. I'm telling myself it's the love of the perky ponytail on Cindy that's doing the heavy lifting here.
I also picked up the Stitch doll because she's cute and was also on sale, and I think I'm going to use her for one of the outfits I already own. I have also somehow become the Stitch person at work. Which is weird because I do like Stitch, but not wallpaper the house in him. I do hope they'll do another version of the holiday redhead with green eyes and hearing aid because it'd be nice to snag one without having to get a whole set.
Kicking myself for missing the Merida/Haunted Mansion fashions though. I'll see if they show up for not terrible prices during the after Christmas slump.
Kay, yawning too much. G'night
Oh, and future!me: find a Funko Marian, dammit. I knew I should've preordered her.
