AG fall/end of summer roundup
Sep. 30th, 2025 07:41 amFuck, AG has been on a release kick the last *checks notes* forever and a fucking day. Wtf. I'm so behind. SO BEHIND.
So. Let's go in reverse, I guess?
I'll be honest, I might be a bit of a skimmer on this first one because it's a new line for AG and not likely one I'll be super invested in, but we'll get to that in a few.
Did you ever think to yourself, damn, I wish the WellieWishers had fun colors in their hair and makeup? No? Neither did I, really, but here we are.
Apparently AG originally meant for these to be sold via Target but their deal fell through (why, Target? You and AG both cave to fuckwits and court JKR so...) and so AG decided to sell them themselves. A series of choices were made and I haven't have the fucks to see how fandom feels, so I'm going in fairly blind on this aside from the backstory.
We're gonna go in order of how they appear on the site.

AG Sisters Jozette // $80
item#JGY98
Funny and fearless Jozette loves telling jokes, making people laugh, and playing sports—especially soccer. When she’s not hanging out with her besties, she spends her time playing board games, playground games, and puppy games with her goofy golden retriever. Her motto? “You got this.”
The Jozette 14.5" doll features blue eyes and long wavy blonde hair with blue highlights. Pair this 13-piece set with the other AG Sisters dolls and their collection for playtime fun (each sold separately).
Includes:
A 14.5" Jozette doll that is sized just right for younger girls. She has blue eyes, pink star earrings in her pierced ears, and long wavy blonde hair with blue highlights styled in two low ponytails.
A white glitter-knit sweatshirt with a multicolored star graphic, a glittery blue pleated skirt, and a pair of blue high-top sneakers
A golden-retriever dog figurine
A blue sling backpack with a multicolored stripe graphic
A soccer ball, a blue-green water bottle with the AG Sisters logo, and a blue hairbrush compact
A wavy blue barrette, a wavy lime barrette, and a pink checkered barrette
I know people love to level Barbie comparison criticisms at AG, but Jozette here, hair aside, is giving me very big late 80's Skipper/Barbie vibes. Like the material for her outfit reminds me a LOT of Funtime Barbie, and I can't quite pinpoint which doll the star graphic is reminding me of, but just know that there's definitely something pinging in my brain. And I say all that with love, btw.
Jozette herself has really pretty hair. Like, it just looks very satisfying to see the blending of blue and blonde and makes me think of Lagoona.
This line ain't for me though. I try to keep my complaints about plastic accessories to a minimum in general but I feel like this whole line's origin explains a LOT so I'll just sigh here. The dog is very tiny and will get lost, only to be found a decade later to much aww-ing. The bag is killing me with the plastic of it all, and while I can pretend to understand the plastic usage on the shoes for kids and their dexterity, I can't with the bag. The waterbottle remains the wrong damn scale and you'd think AG could fix this shit. In general, she's giving Camille (WW) but with makeup. Ehhhhhh. She's fine, though I'd bet good money those eyes are gonna turn funky since they already look cloudy AF. Actually, wait, do the blue eyes like this discolor?
Oh, and I hate the name. I am so sorry to any Jozettes out there, it's not your name, it's your name paired with this doll. The combo is killing me.

AG Sisters Wesley // $80
Item#JGY99
Artistic and caring Wesley loves baking, creating recipes, and planning parties. When she’s not hanging out with her besties, she spends her time decorating cakes for friends and playing with her cuddly bunny. Her motto? “Life is sweet.”
The Wesley 14.5" doll features brown eyes and short curly dark-brown hair with light-pink highlights. Pair this 11-piece set with the other AG Sisters™ dolls and their collection for playtime fun (each sold separately).
Includes:
A 14.5" Wesley doll that is sized just right for younger girls. She has brown eyes, pink heart earrings in her pierced ears, and short curly dark-brown hair with light-pink highlights.
A pastel ombre dress with a textured floral fabric and multicolored heart graphic on the bodice, a yellow headband with a heart, and a pair of yellow platform Mary Jane shoes
A gray bunny figurine
A pink stand mixer with a clear bowl and a blue heart-shaped spatula
A cute pink tumbler that dolls can hold
A heart-shaped cake purse with frosting and cherry details
So, uh, how old are these characters supposed to be? Because they look very young (makeup notwithstanding) but the heels here are throwing me for a loop and a half. o_O Also throwing me off? The boxed picture is the stuff of nightmares. Was Jozette's as bad? Should I go look again? I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do so...
I love the hair, though I wish they pink was a little more spread out. I wonder how it feels and how it'll hold up to any amount of play. Her outfit doesn't do much for me but it doesn't seem quite the sensory nightmare Jozette's might be sooooooo, win? Her bag is a million times better and at least on this I can sort of excuse the plastic of it all, though I do wish it was a little bigger. That bunny is still too small and the shoes look so very plain. Again, wishing the bottle was scaled properly for the doll.
She doesn't seem like she's just Kendall with makeup, so that's a plus. I want to see real pictures of her.
And now I want cake batter.

AG Sisters Francie // $80
Item#JGY96
Kind and creative Francie loves hugs, snuggles, and all kinds of animals. When she’s not hanging out with her besties, she spends her time crafting and making pet toys for her sweet little bichon. Her motto? “Kindness counts.”
The Francie 14.5" doll features brown eyes and long dark-brown hair with purple highlights. Pair this 14-piece set with the other AG Sisters™ dolls and their collection for playtime fun (each sold separately).
Includes:
A 14.5" Francie doll that is sized just right for younger girls. She has brown eyes, purple butterfly earrings in her pierced ears, and long dark-brown hair with purple highlights styled with a small side braid.
A purple glitter-knit top with a butterfly graphic, lace sleeves, and a flouncy purple skirt with a multicolored butterfly print
A set of three glittery hair clips in coral, pink, and teal
A white bichon dog figurine, a food and water bowl, a set of dog biscuits, and a pet adoption certificate
A faux boba drink with a purple straw
A purple backpack with a multicolored butterfly
Francie's the first to kinda sell me on the plastic bag they all come with. The structure keeps her bichon from just sliding down into the bag and y'know, that's a valid concern when playing or taking pics. I'm not thrilled but I'll allow it. I... am massively overwhelmed by the sheer amount of butterflies here, and now I'm having a Mariah flashback. Is it weird that I'd love this shirt if it were black or a darker purple? (I totally get why it's not, the odds of staining would be insane.) There's a LOT of purple going on amidst all those butterflies too, but as a purple girlie, I don't totally hate it. Francie would probably be the doll I'd pick up, but like, do I need her since I have Emerson? Ehhhhhh, probably not. I will say that had they swapped Wesley and Francie's looks, I'd be really tempted. (Wesley's hair is so fluffy, I'm sorry.) If these weren't 80-goddamn bucks, I'd probably be tempted.

AG Sisters Lea // $80
Item#JGY97
Curious and happy Lea loves roller-skating, good vibes, and going with the flow. When she’s not hanging out with her besties, she spends her time cracking codes, solving puzzles, and playing with her cute cat. Her motto? “Sunny vibes only.”
The Lea 14.5" doll features hazel eyes and long wavy brown hair with hot-pink highlights. Pair this 11-piece set with the other AG Sisters™ dolls and their collection for playtime fun (each sold separately).
Includes:
A 14.5" Lea doll that is sized just right for younger girls. She has hazel eyes, hot-pink hoop earrings in her pierced ears, and long wavy brown hair with hot-pink highlights styled in two space buns.
A hot-pink knit dress with a multicolored rainbow bodice, an iridescent sequin print with mesh overlay, and mesh sleeves
A hot-pink backpack with multicolored rainbow design
A pair of turquoise roller skates with glittery pink wheels, a hot-pink helmet shaped like a cat face, a pair of light-pink elbow pads with heart graphics, and a pair of light-pink knee pads with heart graphics
An orange cat figurine
A pair of white socks with turquoise stripes and a pair of hot-pink low-top sneakers
Of course the doll I like the least is the one with the cat. OF COURSE. There's something off in her mouth for me but I haven't been able to really sort out what the problem is, so if you can figure it out, lemme know. We can add Lea to the list of "wtf" boxed pics, too.
I kinda love the skates, but I will always (ALWAYS) have a soft spot for roller skating outfit/dolls. The outfit isn't doing much for me. I'd like it more without the overlay but then I'd really be confused about the age for these dolls so instead I'm just meh overall. I like the cat (again, too small) and the spacebuns. But overall, Lea's my least fave by such a wide margin and I can't even blame the pink. Also? It's killing me that you've got all these HQ pics and then you've got these fuzzy ass cropped zoomed in messes mixed in. It's so perfectly AG. *facepalm*

AG Sisters Glitz and Glam Fashion Set // $32
Item#JHB01
Add some shimmer and style with this dazzling dress and sparkly boots fit for any party. This 7-piece 14.5-inch doll clothing with matching shoes and accessories is designed to fit the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Includes:
A magenta satin dress with pink, orange, and purple mesh tiers, featuring iridescent stars, a satin neckline and lining, and a pink-ribbon bow at the waist
A pink-and-purple ombre-print star-shaped purse that can hold small accessories
A pretend cell phone with a pink case and faux screen
A pair of glittery pink boots with pointed toes and kitten heels, a pink and silvery star hair clip, and a glittery pink cuff bracelet
A Mason-jar style cup with a handle, floral decals, and a lid with a straw
Yeehaw (fuck the law?). I see the theme for this line is sensory fucking nightmare, huh? I can HEAR and FEEL this fabric and my whole body is cringing. I wish the boots were a little more opaque so the color would pop more. This also feels like it's meant to go with those reversible outfits AG did earlier in the year for the TM line. Wesley looks cute enough but the way this one's executed is giving me grocery store knockoff doll clothes vibes. I hope I'm wrong and that it's actually fab in person but realistically? Nah.

AG Sisters Beachy Chic Fashion Set // $32
Item#JHB03
Bring all the essentials to the beach and make a splash in a chic striped swimsuit! This 8-piece set featuring a two-piece bathing suit with matching beach accessories for 14.5-inch dolls is designed to fit the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Includes:
A raschel-knit multicolored striped swim top with turquoise trim, matching raschel-knit striped swim bottoms with a turquoise waistband, and a turquoise mesh coverup with fabric daisy trim along the hem
A pair of orange slide sandals with two straps
An orange-and-white striped terrycloth towel, a structured tote bag with a circular handle and faux pompom detail, a pair of pink sunglasses with semitransparent pink lenses, and a faux bottle of sunscreen
...okay, I love this. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the sunnies actually on the doll, but yeah, this is cute as hell and I will likely be buying. I love the idea of the coverup more than how it actually looks, at least as pictured here, but mesh is gonna mesh and on this it doesn't seem like my skin is gonna crawl touching anything here. Yay! I love that shade of turquoise and the plastic shoes work here. I do keep thinking that's a nest with eggs and not a bag but that does still appeal to my weird side, so joke's on me, I guess.

AG Sisters Staying Up Late Styles // $32
Item#JHB00
Cuddle up in this cute and cozy cloud-print PJ set that’s perfect for AG Sisters sleepovers! This 8-piece set of 14.5-inch doll pajamas with matching accessories is designed to fit the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Includes:
A multicolored ombre and cloud-print flannel crewneck PJ shirt, a pair of matching flannel PJ pants, and a pair of glittery purple slippers with crisscross straps
A blue overnight bag with a multicolored rainbow decal and white straps
A white plush cloud pillow with a printed face, pink cheeks, and silver stars
Sleepover essentials: a purple plush sleep mask with glittery eyelash details, a pink toothbrush dolls can hold, and a pretend toothpaste container
I don't know how I feel about this set. I used to love most of AG's doll PJ sets but this one doesn't quite do it for me. It's not terrible but I think the style/fit is just off enough to make it look wrong. I do kinda like the glitter overload shoes and if I pretend they're shower shoes I actually want them. o_O The cloud pillow is adorable and oddly, so is the toothbrush?

School Style Fashion Set // $32
Item#JHB02
From classroom to craft club, this stylish set makes the grade with playful patterns and stellar supplies. This 10-piece 14.5-inch doll outfit for school with matching school accessories is designed to fit the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Includes:
A purple-and-pink check-print sweater vest with pink binding
A pair of faux-denim jeans with graphic pockets and floral doodles
A pink backpack that can hold small accessories, featuring graphic patches and the AG Sisters logo
A pair of white sneakers with pink elastic laces
A semitransparent pink-and-purple water bottle
A purple notepad with printed lines and doodles, a pink flower pen with a star center, one purple highlighter with a bear design, one pink highlighter with a pig design, and a purple ruler with a squiggly edge
I need you to take a good, long look at those pants and then re-read that description if you skimmed it. FAUX DENIM with GRAPHIC POCKETS. They're screen-printed on. Not real! What. The. FUCK. BURN IT WITH FIRE.
And by it, I mean AG HQ because obviously someone has inhaled a little too much in the way of plastic fumes and they must now be put down.
Which is sad because if this were done in actual AG quality, this would be a cute little nerdy set. As it is, the pants piss me off so much that I can't really appreciate anything else.

AG Sisters Glamping Girls Sleepover Set // $99
Item#JHB07
Dream big and sleep tight with cozy sleeping bags and colorful glamping tents for an AG Sisters slumber party. This 28-piece 14.5-inch doll playset with matching sleepover accessories is designed to pair with the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Premium features:
Two foldable slumber-party glamping tents with faux-wood frames, one with a heart graphic print and one with a star graphic print
A pair of sleeping bags with built-in pillows—one pink and one purple—each featuring an allover confetti sprinkle print and an embroidered star detail
Also includes:
A lavender retro-style pretend wireless speaker, featuring a handle dolls can hold, faux buttons, a rotatable control wheel, and a karaoke microphone dolls can hold
Two bottles of milk with a cookie on top, four slices of pretend pizza that fit inside a paper pizza box, a serving tray, one pink plate, and one purple plate
A pretend laptop with a reversible graphic-print screen
A glittery pink bowl with removable faux popcorn piece
A spinner wheel for sleepover games or to help choose nail polish colors for manicures, three bottles of pretend nail polish in vibrant colors, and an accessory case with dividers designed to store the nail polish
A fuzzy ombre-print plush cushion and a teal daisy-print plush cushion
A pair of pink semi-transparent heart-shaped sunglasses
A banner of pretend star-shaped string lights that can attach between the tents
I remember a time when those string lights would actually work. *shakes fist at cloud* I loathe the cookie being on top of the bottle of milk. *twitch* Otherwise, this isn't a terrible set for me. I wouldn't spend that much on it, but I do think that this is a nice change of pace from AG's habit of making things designed for more than one doll but only enough stuff for one. It is a little weird that the dolls look photoshopped into the main shot and this really isn't selling me on the PJs either, but it could be worse.
I'm also having flashbacks to the time Cass sent me a million links about a local (at the time) photographer who was well known for being a con-artist and the grift she did for a kid's birthday that also involved glamping. Ah, memories.

AG Sisters Sleepover Snacks Set // $40
Item#JBH04
Serve up smiles with a fridge full of favorite slumber party snacks that besties love to share. Pair this 17-piece playset with the AG Sisters dolls and playsets for 14.5-inch dolls (each sold separately).
Includes:
A purple mini fridge with silvery accents, the AG Sisters logo on the door, a white interior with a repositionable shelf, and a set of sticker “photos” and faux “magnets” to decorate the exterior
Two fried chicken drumsticks and a colorful container to hold them, featuring a striped floral design
A strawberry ice cream scoop with chocolate sauce and a cherry, a vanilla ice cream scoop with chocolate sauce and a cherry, and two round waffles with stars in the centers
A set of four soda cans in different colors, two glittery teal plates, and a teal serving tray with purple flower handles
A tic-tac-toe board with star and moon pieces that can really be played
*eyes those ice-cream scoops but says nothing* So it's weird that the art used for the photo sticker is based on normal AG dolls and not these. I wonder if it's a recolour of already existing art? Too tired to look it up but I wouldn't be surprised. The game is cute, and I do love a good celestial theme.

AG Sisters Self Care Sleepover Set // $75
Item#JHB06
Gather for a girls’ night in with self-care sleepover essentials for the whole AG Sisters squad. This 22-piece set of 14.5-inch doll PJs with matching sleepover accessories is designed to pair with the AG Sisters dolls (each sold separately).
Premium features:
A metallic pink rolling suitcase with a puff-front style case, an extendable purple handle, a star-shaped luggage tag with a satin strap, and a set of stickers to decorate the exterior
A teal pet carrier that can hold any of the AG Sisters pets, featuring a clear window side with vents and a handle that dolls can hold
A two-piece soft satin pajama set, featuring a pastel striped short-sleeved top with a pink classic notch collar, faux buttons, and a pair of matching shorts
Also includes:
A pink slow-feed bowl for pets with a paw-shaped obstacle and a removable faux pet treat, plus a whipped-cream treat cup
An ombre rainbow-colored plush neck pillow
A pink spa-style headband, a pearlized cloud-shaped claw hair clip, a doll-sized hairbrush, and a pretend curling iron dolls can hold
A semi-transparent purple pouch to hold cosmetics or toiletries, a pink toothbrush dolls can hold, and a tube of pretend toothpaste
Faux cosmetic accessories: a lip gloss with a removable applicator, a container of hand sanitizer, a bottle of glittery nail polish with a removable lid, and a set of repositionable pimple stickers in cute shapes
A pair of brown teddy-bear slippers
Damn, I do love those PJs. They're simple but I guess the good news is I don't hate both pairs offered? I do wonder why we needed two sets and why, oh why, the set I liked had to be in the bundle of plastic. -_-
Once more, I gotta ask, how old are these girls supposed to be if they've got actual pimple patches? I really was expecting AG to just call them facial stickers or patches but no, they straight up call 'em pimple patches. I approve of the glittery nail polish, obviously. I do not approve of the headband being plastic, and that goes double for the teddy bear shoes.
Overall, for the line, meh. I'm normally the first to point out that duh, AG prices are always insane, but these prices do feel a bit much for the dolls. I guess when you consider that they skip AG's tradition of making you buy the doll and accessories separately, it's not as bad, especially given how expensive everything is, but it still stings. Basically, if not for the expectations the name has, I'd just chalk this up to being totally meh but something where, like the Wellies, I do keep an eye on in case there's a gem.
Thing is, the name. At some point in the waiting process, it became pretty obvious they weren't actually going to be little sisters to the 18inch dolls but it still feels like a missed opportunity. No, this is the one time I'm not going to sit down and figure out which characters would actually have sisters this would cover beyond Felicity.
I might be juuuuuuuuuuust old enough that sisters of the heart is one of those phrases that makes me want to gag nine times out of ten.
Seriously though, how old are these girls supposed to be?
Holiday 2025
I believe we briefly touched on the Glimmering Gold blonde before when she got leaked, just in case you have a small case of deja vu.

No more than 11,000 American Girl® 2025 Glimmering Gold™ Holiday Collector Dolls have been created worldwide.
Premium features:
An 18” Truly Me™ doll with brown eyes that open and close smoothly. Her long curly black hair—the first introduction of this curl style for American Girl—is styled with a crystal-adorned golden metal headband. She comes with gold glitter eye makeup, pink lips, and a pair of golden star-shaped earrings with Swarovski crystals in her pierced ears.
The doll has a soft cotton body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. She features a heart face shape.
An enchanting golden metallic mesh gown featuring glittery and metallic starburst appliques, cream-colored satin lining with a golden foil-print star pattern, and a three-layer mesh skirt adorned with Swarovski crystals along the hem

A pair of golden sandals with a silvery glitter starburst detail and Swarovski crystals
A crescent moon-shaped purse with a golden metal strap, a silvery glitter starburst detail, and Swarovski crystals
Also includes:
A numbered certificate of authenticity
A pair of cotton underwear
Despite being more of a silver girlie, I have to admit that as I get older, I really do appreciate certain tones of gold. Also, as someone who was of a certain age in the 90's, celestial themes will forever have me in a choke-hold, which means I love most of the accessories here. The headband, necklace, earrings, and bracelet are all screaming my name so loudly it hurts. I like the idea of the dress, although I do wish it had sleeves of some sort and that I wasn't 95% sure those starbursts weren't going to curl up even more and in terrible ways before disintegrating. I love the idea of the purse and it does get points for not being plastic, but it went for moon and landed in golden sad banana. I'm awarding points for the shoes because again, not perfect, an effort was made, dammit.
Doll wise, I actually love the golden makeup and good god, I'd just finally gotten Golden out of my head and now it's back. My only issue with the doll herself here is that her hair looks absolutely fried. Like it looks dry as hell. I hope I'm wrong or that it's just this one proto doll, but AG's curls tend to fall in surprisingly perfect or sweet Jesus, WTF happened.

I think the gold works better on the brunette doll, but I don't hate it here. She does seem a little washed out but I appreciate the use of the darker blue eyes and them not giving her orange lips. I don't love her curls either, but more because they're kinda limp and that's not my fave look. I wish maybe she'd had shorter hair, to kind of go with the golden sun vibe. I will say that Classic is still off, but she's one of the prettier ones I've seen in awhile.
Holiday dolls aren't always my thing but I appreciate that AG does them, and I would 1000% buy the accessories if I could.
AG is collabing with Hanna Andersson for the PJs this holiday season.

AGxHanna Andersson Holiday Treetops PJs for 18 inch dolls // $38
Item#JGY80
A festive tree print mixes with berry candy-cane stripes in these cozy holiday PJs for 18” dolls. This PJ top and bottom with chunky knit sleep socks pairs with the American Girl® x Hanna Andersson Holiday Treetops Pajamas for Girls (sold separately) to create matching moments.
Includes:
A snug-fitting cotton PJ top featuring a cream-colored bodice with a pink- and berry-treetop print, contrasting striped sleeves, a striped back, and berry knit cuffs and neckline
A pair of matching snug-fitting cotton PJ pants featuring a treetop print on one leg, a striped pattern on the other leg, and berry knit cuffs
A hair tie with a marled pink knit bow
A pair of marled knit berry-colored socks
Not entirely sure how I feel about these. I don't hate them, but they're busy in a way that sometimes I look at them and feel a little off and sometimes I think they're cute. This is giving me big holiday wrapping paper vibes. I'll probably try and snag if this goes on sale.
Don't really like the BB version but it's not terrible:

We have another Janie and Jack Holiday Collection:
AGxJanie and Jack Tied With Bows Jacket // $22
Item#JHD17
Put a bow (or two) on every look with this soft and stylish jacket designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. Made to match the Tied with Bows Jacket for Girls (sold separately), this clothing for 18-inch dolls also pairs with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection for chic looks.
Includes:
A cream-colored faux-fur jacket with two velvet bows at the front
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
I... uh... Why is the coat eating the doll? She's being swallowed by the coat and no one's stopping it from happening. I wonder if this is a case of the girl size working but the doll size is just a bit too much.
Absolutely cackling over them showcasing the cardboard hanger, but I am grateful they did because I was curious if it was still cardboard.

AGxJanie and Jack Pleated Party Skirt // $16
Item#JHD13
Add some golden glamour to gatherings with this skirt designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. Pair this mix-and-match clothing for 18-inch dolls with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection—including the matching Pleated Party Skirt for Girls (sold separately).
Includes:
A pleated golden metallic skirt with an elastic waistband
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
This is absolutely their current go to skirt, just in gold but I do like shiny things. SHINY.

AGx Janie and Jack Ruffles Ribbon Blouse // $16
Item#JHD15
Ruffles and ribbon tie any look together with this chic top designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. Pair this shirt for 18-inch dolls with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack® celebration collection to create mix-and-match looks.
Includes:
A cream-colored blouse featuring a ruffled collar, golden ribbon with a bow at the neckline, a faux front placket with buttons, and pleated fabric plackets and sleeve cuffs
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
This is giving me major Heathers vibes. It's also giving me major Strings class kid vibes but that combo only makes me need it more. I see it's also not the coat eating the doll, it's the coat and the shirt combo that's doing that.

AGx Janie and Jack Glitter Bows Shoes // $13
Item#JHD10
Add a golden sparkle to any outfit with these fancy flats designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. Mix and match these shoes for 18-inch dolls with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection.
Includes:
A pair of gold-glitter ballet-flat shoes with pointed toes and cream organza bows
Glitter! My one quibble is that the bow blends in a little too well with the tights. But they're glittery and cute.

AG x Janie and Jack Sparkly Cream Celebration Accessories // $20
Item#JHD11
Every holiday look shines with these outfit accessories for 18-inch dolls, designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. Pair with the other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection.
Includes:
A pair of cream tights with gold glitter-print stars and dots
A golden star-shaped purse with a golden-metal chain handle
A cream headband with faux-pearl shapes
I appreciate AG bringing the celestial theme into the mix and match stuff, and this bag is much cuter, even if I hate the chain. The tights look like they might be the really good kind that hold up to play and while I absolutely despise the faux-pearl lumped together look of the headband, I get the vision. I just wish we weren't in the AG era where that vision gave us, well, that. Sigh. That said, these accessories absolutely do bring the gold and cream outfit pieces together, so it's on my want list.
In case you pondered, the whole look minus the coat is $65.

AG x Janie and Jack Rosy Ribbed Cardigan // $16
Item#JHD14
Bring a rosy glow to parties with this stylish sweater designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. This mix-and-match clothing for 18-inch dolls pairs beautifully with the other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection and is made to match the Rosy Ribbed Cardigan for Girls (sold separately).
Includes:
A mauve rose rib-knit cardigan with a pink faux-fur collar and pearlized buttons
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
I like the collar better on the girl's version but I think this is one that's very dependent on the doll wearing it, both in hair/eye/skin color and whether the doll's already got a short neck. This one I'd need to see paired with other things, I think.

AG x Janie and Jack Twinkling Tulle Skirt // $16
Item#JHD12
Twinkle and twirl in tulle with this vibrant skirt designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. This skirt for 18-inch dolls is designed to pair with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection for more mix-and-match looks.
Includes:
A magenta tulle skirt with gold glitter print and an elastic waistband
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
This is AG's other go to skirt design, but I like it. Berry and gold is one of my favorites, but one I always forget how much I like it until I see it at play.

AG x Janie and Jack Sparkly Cream Celebration Dress // $44
Item#JHD18
Bring some sparkle to every celebration with this chic outfit designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. This party dress with matching accessories for 18-inch dolls was made to match the Sparkly Cream Celebration Dress for Girls (sold separately). Pair with other pieces in the in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection.
Includes:
A cream-colored tulle dress with a golden glitter-print star pattern, ruffled sleeves, and a two-tiered skirt with taffeta lining
A matching cream headband with a glitter-print tulle bow
A golden star-shaped ring
A pair of cream lettuce-edge socks with golden bow detail on the sides
A pair of metallic gold Mary Jane shoes with bows at the toes
So, it's probably not a good sign that I had to go and look to make sure they hadn't just put the 18inch doll in the BB outfit, huh? The socks are cute but somehow don't work, but I still want them. I don't love the shoes but they aren't plastic lumps either so I'll give it a pass. I do love the ring, so I'll give them that and again, celestial.
But the waist should be brought in a little more, the sleeves being called ruffled is being beyond generous (give these dolls something more than a spray of tulle for sleeves, dammit) and the headband looks cheap.
All that being said, I actually like it in the doll group shot so I'm not sure what's going on there. What wizardry is afoot?

BB's will set you back $34 but I need someone to compare how similar they really are beyond the shoes/lack of socks.
I do wish they'd scaled this down for the Wellies or the Sisters, as I think it'd actually work really well in that size.

AG x Janie and Jack Rosy Cascade Party Dress // $20
Item#JHD16
Celebrate in florals with a cascade of pink roses against a navy backdrop in this dress designed in collaboration with Janie and Jack. This party dress for 18-inch dolls is made to match the Rosy Cascade Party Dress for Girls (sold separately). Pair with other pieces in the American Girl® x Janie and Jack celebration collection for more looks.
Includes:
A navy dress with an allover pink rose print, puff sleeves, and bows at the shoulders
An American Girl® x Janie and Jack hanger
Would it really be a Janie and Jack collab without florals? I think not. I don't hate the print and actually really like the girl's version but the doll version feels unfinished. I do like that one shot, so maybe this is another that depends entirely on the doll? Also, dude, warn a girl before you give her the double shoulder bow flashbacks, wouldja?
Like most of the J&J collabs, this one has stuff I like, stuff I'm meh over, and stuff that is definitely better suited to humans than dolls.

She bewitches with custom green eyeshadow and green polish on her fingernails and toes. Her custom details include unique eyebrows, lip color, and baby-hair details near her hairline.

Also includes:
A pair of kitten-heel black boots with an asymmetrical faux lace-up detail
A pair of black cotton underwear
A numbered certificate of authenticity
This is very much a case of truly appreciating the work, the vision, the fact that this was made, but knowing it's not for me. I'm not sure my curiosity wouldn't get the better of me at a non-Collector price because I do love so many little things about this and hello, witch, but for $300, I would've thrown that at Wednesday instead.
I am oddly tickled by the description of the green cloth body to match her limbs. I do wonder if I'd like her more if they'd used different green eyes? But if not for a witch, when else would you use the laser green eyes?
Anyway, somewhere Kavi is screaming in fangirl.

A doll-sized paper journal with interior blank pages and an Elphaba icon graphic on the front
Arrives in a Collector Series box with a protective sleeve

A green faux elixir bottle
A pair of purple mule slippers with embroidery at the toes
Holy shit, I love this so much. As someone who paid full price, minus Rewards, for the Clueless collab, I am waiting to see if it goes on sale before I try and bite, but damn. I am in love. No one tell me how accurate this is to whatever it's supposed to be in miniature form for because I do not want to know.

Wicked Glinda Doll, Collector Series // $295
Item#JGY39
Charming, bubbly, and popular, Glinda Upland learns the power of goodness through an unlikely friendship. The WICKED Glinda Doll by American Girl® Collector Series arrives in an iridescent ball gown with embroidered details, layered tulle, and shiny butterfly-wing print as seen in Wicked: For Good. As she travels by bubble, her pink-manicured hand holds her magic wand—an essential for this glamorous gal. This limited-edition 18-inch collector doll features blonde hair and brown eyes. No more than 6,800 WICKED Glinda Collector Dolls have been created worldwide.
Premium features:
An 18” doll with brown eyes that open and close smoothly. Her long wavy blonde hair is styled half-up with two twists beneath a tiara. She dazzles with details designed to match the Glinda character, including custom purple eyeshadow, custom eyebrows and lip color, pink bubble-shaped rhinestone earrings in her pierced ears, and pink polish on her fingernails.
The doll has a soft cotton body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. She features a diamond face shape.
An iridescent multicolored ballgown featuring an embroidered bodice with sequins, sparkly foil-print sleeves, and a full skirt layered with mesh and a gradient, iridescent butterfly-wing pattern
A bubble wand with a semitransparent pink top and a clear handle that the doll can hold
A silvery metal tiara with bubble shapes, accented with pink rhinestones
Also includes:
A pair of purple shoes with kitten heels
A pair of cotton underwear
A numbered certificate of authenticity
I'd like to say I'm surprised they made more Glindas but since I'm about to say I like the doll and would like her (minus most of the stuff), I get it. I'm honestly more surprised at how close they kept them, as usually the blondes have a much bigger allocation. Anyway, there seems to be something funky with her lips, so I'm not sure if that's a choice, them simply not underfilling a MG mold's lip for once, or just my eyes being weird. I don't notice it in the boxed picture so who knows.
Doll pretty, but I am a sucker for the MG mold. I love the wand but the rest doesn't do much for me, so once more I'm safe.

Wicked Glinda's Popular Pajamas // $80
Item#JGY41

Arrives in a Collector Series box with a protective sleeve
Also includes:
A pink mesh rosette hair clip
A pair of pink satin sling-back slippers with butterfly embroidery at the toes
Fuck, I like th is one, too. I do like the pajamas far more than the robe, which I think I like more not on the doll. Okay, yeah, looking at how many sets of these they made vs the Elphaba sets, that's the divide I was expecting on the dolls. Hrmm. May have to prioritize those PJs. *muse* If they go on sale any time soon, you're welcome?

Gonna skip back and pick up the Disney dolls we missed.

Frozen Elsa Doll // $145
Item#JGM37
Disney’s Elsa gains confidence and finds freedom when she learns to embrace the magic within her. Celebrate this beloved Disney Frozen character with this stunning American Girl® 18-inch doll with blonde hair and blue eyes, designed in collaboration with Disney. Pair with the Disney Frozen Elsa Dress for Girls by American Girl® (sold separately)—perfect for young Frozen fans.

A blue gown featuring a satin bodice with iridescent sequins, a mesh neckline, mesh pointed-hem sleeves with an iridescent glitter print, a satin iridescent-print skirt, and an attached organza cape with a glittery snowflake print
Also includes:
A pair of transparent blue kitten-heel shoes with glittery edges
A set of three clear blue snowflake-shaped hair clips with glitter
A pair of cotton underwear
Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be a Disney adult or even someone who is just hardcore into Frozen or any Disney property. Did they lose their shit when these became available? Did they grab the Collector editions and then go back for these, or wait until these came out? What's the thought process here?
I realize this is rich, considering I bought Playline Punzie, but I've got so very little to say about Elsa here. She looks kinda angry, you can see what I was talking about them underfilling the MG mold lips, and the best I can say is she's pretty but I am neither wowed or underwhelmed by her. She is, I hope her fans are happy, and she's pale as shit, which I can appreciate as someone who has been used to reflect light in the dark. :P

Elsa's Travel Outfit & Bruni // $60
Item#JGM39
When Disney’s Elsa journeys far from home, she discovers who she’s meant to be. Play out her travel adventures with this 6-piece Disney Frozen 18-inch doll outfit and accessory set by American Girl®.
Includes:
A blue ombre coat with glitter-print epaulet shoulders, glitter-print sleeves with pointed hems, attached sheer capelets, and embroidery along the bottom hem
An iridescent foil-print white dress with pointed-hem sleeves, a sleeveless light-blue unitard, and a blue belt with silver glitter print at front
A pair of blue boots with lavender soles and an allover silver glitter print
A figurine of Bruni, the fire spirit who appears in the form of a salamander that Elsa meets in the Enchanted Forest
This reminds me that I still haven't seen Frozen 2. Should I? Love the colors, Bruni looks cute as hell, this seems rather well made but again, I got nothing here.

Olaf Plush Summer Accessories // $45
Item#JGM41
A friendly snowman, Disney’s Olaf loves to daydream about summer and share adventures with Anna and Elsa. Create fun configurations with this 8-piece Disney Frozen Olaf detachable plush toy and accessories set by American Girl®.
Includes:
An Olaf plush made up of three pieces that can be taken apart and positioned in multiple ways to build a snowman. Olaf features embroidered face details, a felt twig detail on his head, felt arms, and an embroidered star logo on his left foot.
A purple flower lei, a faux coconut drink cup with attached flower and straw, a green grass skirt, and a pair of black sunglasses
A straw-colored hat and a black cane
A red-and-white checkered picnic blanket
Olaf here appeals to my WTF side of AG collecting. I'm not sure what material he's made of, other than probably not felt for the main mody since they specifically mention felt for his arms and twigs but who knows. Cute and absurd. Huzzah!

Frozen Anna Doll // $145
Item#JGM38
Optimistic and caring, Disney’s Anna always tries to do the right thing for her kingdom and those she loves. Celebrate this beloved Disney Frozen character with this charming American Girl® 18-inch doll with auburn hair and blue eyes, designed in collaboration with Disney. Pair with the Disney Frozen Anna Dress for Girls by American Girl® (sold separately)—perfect for young Frozen fans.
Premium features:
An 18” Anna doll with blue eyes that open and close, freckles, and long auburn hair styled in two braids with sideswept bangs. She has a soft cotton body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl.
A dress featuring a black velvet embroidered bodice, blue raschel-knit sleeves, golden sparkle trim along the waist, and a royal-blue satin skirt with printed floral and scallop details along the hem
A magenta satin cape with embroidered accents along the hem and a silvery heart-shaped clasp
Also includes:
A pair of black vinyl boots with a golden filigree design and magenta kitten-heel soles
A pair of cotton underwear
Anna appeals to me more than Elsa, in doll form, because hello, I have a soft spot for freckles and redheads. I also remember kinda wanting Collector Anna but not enough to pay that kind of money for her. As near as I can tell, the Playline version isn't that different. No eyeshadow and lack of ~crystals~ but still cute.

Anna Adventure Outfit and Travel Bag // $60
Item#JGM40
Disney’s Anna is brave and optimistic, which helps her when she is far from home. Play out her adventures with this 5-piece Disney Frozen 18-inch doll outfit and accessory set by American Girl®.
Includes:
A black twill dress with an embroidered bodice, a yellow satin collar and yoke, sleeves with multicolored cuffs and pom-pom trim, and an attached brown belt
A purple velvet cape with a black velvet collar and binding, golden buttons and trim, magenta satin panels on the front, and black filigree details along the hem
A woven-textured brown travel bag with a toggle-close flap, magenta trim, and a magenta cross-body strap
A pair of yellow knit leggings
A pair of black kitten-heel boots with golden decals on the front
Sweet mother of autumn, this color palette. Beautiful. Stunning. I can't work myself up into a frenzy over it beyond that. It's different from AG's offerings and I appreciate that, and not just because when AG makes black clothes my interest increases by quite a bit. But the Frozen phenomenon hasn't ever done enough for me to make me lose my shit over stuff, so this is simply nice to me.

Disney Princess Cinderella Collector Series // $310
Item#JGM36

No more than 6,000 Disney Princess Cinderella Dolls by American Girl® Collector Series created worldwide.
Premium features:
An 18” Cinderella doll with blue eyes that open and close, glittery iridescent eye shadow, her signature blonde hair styled in a low side bun with sideswept bangs, and dangly blue Swarovski crystal earrings in her pierced ears. She has a soft cotton body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl.
A blue headband with blue Swarovski crystals
A black satin ribbon choker necklace with a Swarovski crystal center
A blue ombre satin and organza gown featuring a bodice adorned with Swarovski crystals and ribbon, an illusion neckline with organza off-the-shoulder drapes, and a full skirt with organza tiered peplum at the waist, iridescent embroidery along the front, and a mesh overskirt with Swarovski crystals
A pair of glittery “glass slippers” with kitten heels and Swarovski crystals at the toes
Also includes:
A pair of light blue over-the-elbow gloves with iridescent embroidery
A pair of light blue cotton underwear
A numbered certificate of authenticity
This is the first time AG's introduced the Collector Disney after the Playline. No idea how well it went/how it's going. I like Playline's hairstyle better, though I think part of that is just knowing I would knock Collector Cindy's hair out of that uh... what is that? It looks like when I wind my hair up and then it falls because it's not secured properly. Anyway, I do like the eyeshadow sparkle and the doll herself is pretty but something about the mouth is kinda off. Sort of like when you put on too much lipgloss and suddenly it seems like your face is melting. She's got that going on.
I think this is a case where Playline did the doll better.
Nah.

AG 2025 Glimmering Gold Holiday Collector Doll Blonde // $285

Cocoa coziness: a light-blue mug of cocoa with whipped cream and a light-pink mug of cocoa with whipped cream
I feel like other years they've made sure to not spoil the contents on the main page but not this year. Nope, 2025 is like fuck it, you're gonna find out everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrything right away. I do think it's really cute though and I will forever remain a sucker for cute doll baking supplies.
Dammit, now I also want gingerbread dough.

The Wicked collab also dropped because, like I said, EVERYTHING dropped over the course of maybe a week or two. G'ah.

Date: 2025-10-03 10:05 pm (UTC)I'm guessing tweens? Though that probably doesn't make sense if the 18" girls are supposed to be 9-10. Then again, the beauty industry is apparently aiming for literal babies nowadays, so I'm not surprised that the 5-9 contingent has lots of play makeup and nail polish. It's a little icky, really. I don't believe children have hormone-induced skin conditions like pimples until, well, they have hormones.
Also - Wesley is now a girl's name??
I love the celestial theme of the holiday doll! I think it looks better on the darker skin, too. That sad banana bag, tho...
AGxHanna Andersson Holiday Treetops PJs for 18 inch dolls
I HATE the contrasting leg patterns on these, ugh.
That Elf on the Shelf is the stuff nightmares are made of. SO GLAD that wasn't around when we were kids!!
Wicked - I love Elphaba's dressing robe! I want that in adult size, please.
A question about the collector series dolls - how likely are collectors to actually de-box them? I'm not sure why the details about the bodies are so important if they are just going to basically be in the box all the time.
I will forever be amused that Disney's Cinderella dolls, etc have blue ballgowns when her gown in their version of the movie is so clearly silver.

Date: 2025-10-04 12:58 pm (UTC)Point taken on the targeting of younger and younger kids, though it's less the play makeup I have issues with and more the actual makeup. Then again, given the lack of safety practices in the play makeup, maybe I should rethink that. And gasp! How quickly we forget the Tinkerbell nail polish. :p
re: Wesley- Until now, I'd forgotten that for the MyScene line, Madison's name was Westley in Europe but also, I've never heard anyone else use Wesley/Westley as a girl's name.
Elf on the Shelf is pure terror and I refuse to accept that it's been around for twenty years already. D:
A question about the collector series dolls - how likely are collectors to actually de-box them?
60/40 split, I think on that one. Some live in their boxes forever, waiting to be sold or handed down or whatever, but a good chunk of them do find themselves freed, to be redressed or played with (sometimes by actual children, sometimes however adults choose to play). I'm not sure there are any of the non one-off Collectors dolls where I can't think of at least a couple of people who've deboxed them.
I neeeeeeeeeeeed a proper silver Cindy dress. Neeeeeeeeeeeed it.
