Sep. 25th, 2004 10:35 amThe next mindless sheep that bleats "Kerr Smith looks just like Julian/Cole!" and doesn't add "in those pictures/on Charmed" is going to get hit with a brick. I've heard that phrase 900 times in the last 24 hours. I knew I stopped going to C:tP for a reason other than extreme laziness. You can only hear the same thing repeated so many times before you want to shoot yourself or other people. Add to that just general Charmed fandom... and, yeah. I want the pictures, the news, the updates, but you can keep the gushing unless I'm not going to get a billion of the same responses. A couple? Peachy. It means some people think alike. Four hundred? Some people jumped so fast onto a bandwagon they must have giant splinters from where it broke under their weight.
I'm awfully grouchy for some reason. *yawns*
But! I got to see Joan of Arcadia yesternight, so joy! Now for me to comment. Though I don't think anyone except Rose-io watches on a regular basis, I should cut for spoilers, just in case. I'm trying out this whole "thoughtful" thing.
A note. It took divine intervention for me to stay awake long enough to watch. Only my Dad offering me his spot on the couch if I'd help him off the couch [dude's got new knees but seems to fear using them o_O ] made sure I watched.
Joan with bangs? Oddly cute. I realized over the summer that I quite like Amber, though I still find Joan, the character, more than a bit annoying at times. Though for most of last night I adored her except when I wasn't supposed to.
Adam? Yummy. He still calls her Jane, right? I was over at the table for the first ten minutes or so.
Cute!God? Yeah. I love him. I wish he was in more things. I wish channel 5 came in clearly on my TV until my cable gets hooked up so I could tape the yummy that is he. Sigh.
Kevin? Yeah. Adore. Also adore the actor, though I resent that I'm going to have to suffer through a Duffster movie because he's in it. I'm glad he's the comedic relief since he seems to have been the source of such drama before, and still is. So a nice balance.
When did Luke and Grace get together again? So. Happy. Eeee! Also, I hate it when people ask this kind of question, but the actress who plays Grace seems much smaller this year. Not height, although there's a bit of that too. Is it just that she's not wearing six layers of clothing? I love that Joan was actually kind of observant when Grace came over. Not too much, but enough that Grace had to flee.
Eeep for the bunny. I snickered at the "lying to your family is not the first step", and bit back the revelation that confirmation class when you're 12? Not really a big thing. Sure, they taught some stuff, though heaven help me if I remember a bit of it. I do remember the teacher was nice, and he seemed to find a lot of joy in bringing in Peanuts strips for us to read. Charlie Brown and faith. Otherwise... no. We had the occasional donut, read the comics, and that was about it, honestly. Um, back to the show!
The thing I don't get? How the blue freakin' fuzzy can... Kevin's old friend sue Kevin's family and possibly win? Because Kevin didn't beat the tar out of him and take away the guy's keys? I'd say Kevin, and his family, paid for that. You know, Kev being crippled and all. :p That might just be me though.
Poor bunny. Poor, poor bunny. But having two of my favorite Gods [little girl god and cute god] is always a good way to make me happy. Joan talking to cute God like they'd been dating was a little weird.
Overall it left me with the same feeling I get from 90% of JoA episodes. Joy and a definite eeep factor. The eep would be that nothing really happened, in a good way, but the joy is that it was a good episode that didn't require anything major. That seems to be left for next week anyway.
Know what sucks? Getting a papercut halfway through your shift, and still having to go back and risk getting another sixteen because no one else will rip the freakin' tags apart. ;_;
