impyI am so cold right now. So, so cold.
Spent the night at work up at the register. This is wrong since the 12 to 8-er usually wanders the store. Apparently not if FratBoi!Boss wants Dude coworker to help. I'm hoping it's less "Us dudes gots ta stick together" and more "And this is what you'll be doing a lot of later on." Otherwise I might kill someone. o_O
Anyway. One more night with the dudes, and then it's freeeeeedom. Which, apparently a great deal will be spent cleaning this room. Because heaven knows I'm the only one who messes it up. *grumbles*
I'm just grouchy. I know, you'd never guess.
Happily burning through the Sweet Valley books Heidi sent. :D Thus far Elizabeth #3 [a royal pain] is the least painful of the Elizabeth books. I don't know if its that I've finally gotten over the, "DUH, you blonde bimbo fool! you've been to England before, deal!" or what, but I purr with glee.
However I do not purr with glee over
I lurk and post occasionally at zee Official Barbie Collector board. It's a fairly nice place if you don't mind having to watch your mouth on a constant basis. Since I tend to avoid the overly trafficked by mods areas, it's fine. I love the photo forum, and the pink box [those would be the playline, cheaper dolls] forum. Photo because it's home to the MyScene thread, and I adore most of the people there. In fact, I think I love 'em all. Which is odd. Usually by now I'd want to kill someone, but no. I'm happy there.
The board is divided, currently, into two sections. The Paid Members side [Fan Club] which is, I guess, pink. The Blue side, is for everyone else. Those of us who don't pay. The pinkies can play in the blue, and do, as far as I can tell.
But come the, uh, 16th [I think?] all the blues will be evicted from the board until March something. Then, if you want to pay $20, you can come back to the board and join their stupid little club.
Thing is, the board has been up for years. Last year they promised the blue side wasn't going anywhere, you didn't have to spend money to post, blah blahblah.
I'm sure that if everyone on said board had an extra $20 and the desire to spend it on a membership so they could basically continue to talk to their friends, they would be able to. I don't see it as a selling out issue. However the happier nutjobs on the board are going around saying, "You should join! We don't want to be split up! It's not like it'll sell out... yet."
You fuckwits, that's not the point. For me the point is that I don't want to join. I don't ever plan on buying a doll from the site, let alone two or three, and I don't think it's right that they're limiting board privilages to people who pay. Not when it was free before and there's no good reason given for uprooting people who obviously love the place.
Why is it that given enough time, a company will completely fuck things up whereas fans will just manage to kill one another? Bah.
