So. I'm supposed to be making my own dinner. Which might not bother me, if I'd been given more than 70 minutes notice. Which, in theory, seems like enough to do whatever I need to do, right? Yeah. Right. No dishes have been done all week [I at least put more than half a load in the dishwasher today] and I'm not sure we even have any food worth eating. I'm, luckily enough, not all that hungry. Maybe after Charmed, although Allison says it's lame beyond comparison this season.

Ah well. Lotsa Buffy LJs out there. Tried linking them all for my friend Calli, but I ran out of energy once I ran into the third buffy and second dawn. If you haven't, you could take Calli's survey. You can wax poetically about Buffy, Charmed, whatever super heroine makes your heart beat with joy.

SURVEY!

It'll help her out, and you can wax poetic about your love affair with... whomever.

Anyway. I cleaned my room like a fiend today because, for the third day this week [sundays kind of get lumped in the last week instead of beginning a new one] arianne was supposed to come over. She didn't. Siiiigh. I'm supposed to go over there tomorrow. I just don't know exactly which there it is. Her house, or Derrick's?

Oh well.

Went to the library the other day and checked out a stack of paperbacks. I realized that I don't tend to read the adult books quite as much as I think is expected of me. But I write and enjoy reading YA stuff. Even if it has become even more name brand-label crazy than in past years. Still, I like them. Especially the influx of the wicca books. Which is weird, when you think about it.

I like in the bible belt. The holy city [no, not the pot-holey city] which is not exactly known for embracing the pagan side of life [if you ignore the circular congregational church where you too can attend a sabbat of your choosing]. Yet the library will at least try to get three books in each wicca/witchy series [except Charmed] and some they adore. *shrug* I live in a weird city.

Speaking of Wicca, I was once accused of being a witch. October of '98. Ari's mom found a book I'd bought because it had alot of myths. It also had spells. Suddenly I was a witch. And I think I might still be under suspicion. *shrug* It was very surreal. Luckily I wasn't burnt at the stake or anything, but I was told to never bring such things into her home again. Later the next year she went to a sabbat at aforementioned church and I began to realize the woman was slightly off her rocker.

So, what have we learned? That I have to go vault into my room and set up to tape Charmed.

Oh! And Allison is a goddess full time now.

The Importance of Being Phoebe
January 12, 2003

This week Charmed asked the ever important question: How many lap dances is too many? In response, I ask, "Why does this show not have a parental advisory announcement at the beginning? At least this episode, anyway."

Overall the episode felt very.. odd. It almost seemed like it wanted to be a comedy, and then it wanted drama. It wasn't awful, but I could definitely have done without the numerous Alyssa lap dancing scenes.
Part of my confusion might have been Piper's reactions to everything. I was amused, and yet it felt like Piper was being forced to act a certain way. So, do I mock the writer, or do I ponder Holly's delivery? Still, she had enough lines said perfectly that I'll just concentrate on them.
Even if the writer was a bit schizophrenic, they managed to make me snicker and find lots of stuff quotable. [for instance: Did you just call me a whore?]

This version of Crazy Cole isn't half as much fun as last week's. No, he wasn't so much crazy as completely delusional. Yup. Delusional with a master plan. Which could have worked, I suppose, if the freakin' woogy/shadow didn't have such an easy vanquish. :p
I liked the use of the rat demons again, and the nexus was interestingly used. They also found a use for baby voice Phoebe in the form of Kaia. Her baby voice was grating [yeaaah...] but she was pretty. Usually their blondes aren't so pretty.
Do you think they realized they ran Paige through old Prue storylines? Getting thrown in jail for a murder she didn't commit, her sneaking out of jail and leaving pillows stuffed under the covers, the frequent trips to the hospital [okay, so it's only her second where she was a patient]... Enh. Maybe it's just a hazard of the job.
Questions:
Generally in a hit and run, you have to leave the scene of the crime, and I don't mean escorted by an ambulence. She was knocked out cold. I'm assuming she didn't just drive herself to the hospital or orb there. I could maybe buy the vehicular manslaughter but not hit and run.
Piper tells Paige, while Paige is still in the hospital, that she has to go save their sole source of income, yet Phoebe has a job that's pretty cushy. Is she exagerating [and commenting on Phoebe's chances of being fired] or... does Phoebe owe all her money to someone for that car she's been driving around?

Liked the end. A lot. Interesting set up for the next episode. Which, may I just say, "Whoa."

Other quotes of joy:
I have to go get fired now.- Phoebe
...torture and kill her sisters and live happily after.- Cole, paraphrased actually
Would you like me to kill someone for you? - Cole
