sweet fancy moses!
Jan. 9th, 2004 01:41 amLosing power for more than 24 hours? So not fun. Not the worst thing ever, as something happens to the power every other winter anyway [like the storm in march one year. but then I learned to play mah jong, so no real bitching] Even less fun when you take into consideration the fact that it was below freezing for part of the night.
luckily I have a gazillion and twelve blankets. oh, and a body temp that hovers near 100 on a good day doesn't hurt either. :p
but the part of the whole thing that sucked most? My parents deciding to start a fire in the fireplace. So. Much. Smoke. I swear you could see the little black cloud of death hanging over the room for awhile.
Tru Calling was okay. I didn't mind the assumed innocent, and there was a Tru/Davis moment or two, and the return of Meredith, but for the most part I think I figured out the whole friggin' episode before we hit the half hour mark. Then I did the same thing on CSI [well, one crime] which I somehow managed to get roped into watching though I don't know how. Back to Tru. I think I've been spoiled horribly by Holly who can actually, you know, cry. So when I see someone who can't and the scene would be so much better if they did/could... I mentally edit it. Ah well.
Been waiting for Miss Cass to call for like, the whole week. She said something about having to talk, but since then she's come over, given me a line, and then had me explain the joys of sex to a friend of hers. Dude, when you're asking me for advice that's not strictly technical stuff, things have hit rock bottom, kay? :p
In unrelated news, went downtown on Wednesday. I keep forgetting why I avoid that place. I can't stand the overly rich sections that are tourist magnets and the itty bitty skinny streets. And yet... I wish to wander around with a backpack for the day. Wander down the streets that no one visits, and do my own haunting of the four billion churches down there. I will never understand how anyone, except the far too stuffy, could grow up here and not at least consider ghosts to be a reality. Spooky enough during the afternoon, in a car, lost. Ah well.
I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted. *hugs to those that like 'em*
and bucky from get fuzzy? he's adorable and insane. I love that.
