Odd. I distinctly remember looking up various reviews for The Black Parade, and while the general consensus is a thumbs up, the one that stuck with me was probably Rolling Stone as it couldn't resist the usual kick in Bush's general direction. [...yes.] Anyway, the other reason it stuck in my brain was the theory that while fabulous, the only ray of hope on an album so preoccupied with death, dying, and witnessing horrors that your average person should probably run like hell from was a line in Welcome to the Black Parade. And for the most part, I was inclined to agree. Then again, much as I love MCR something fierce and freakish, I don't kid myself that the songs are super happy in terms of content. The execution might be chipper, but the content is the stuff of horror flicks where the blood pretty much oozes right off the screen.
Wait, where was I? Oh yeah, hopeless and neck deep in bodies and despair. Did someone miss Famous Last Words? Cuz... love.

...I'm weak and bookless, so when Mumsy declared the library had something for me, I pretty much tackled the bag to see what it was. I'm desperate. I've been through my usual Halloween SVH books and then some. I could go to the library myself, but I'm lazy. And I actually loathe going to the closest one. Anyway, the book in question was Strange Candy.

Yeah, I slammed my head onto the arm of the chair and I won't lie, I cracked it open and could smell the crazy. Thing is? I actually like most of the stories I've read. Probably because they're from before she went full blown nutty. A Scarcity of Lake Monsters is probably the best so far and it points out exactly what's wrong with Anita [and to a lesser degree so far, Merry] these days. Other than the sex. Any emotional impact at all? Ding! We have a winner. Poor Irving. *sniffle*

Soooooo tired.
