..I hate it when I pick a book based on superficial reasons and it comes back to bite me in the ass. I hate it even more when I apparently do it twice. Nyargh? I would bet an awful lot that I've already read Beyond the Pale as I really cannot imagine two books having vampires recruited to Black Ops goodness after 9/11, although, truthfully, I don't remember the 9/11 bit from before. Just the "be true to your country, the ideals!" and Lord Byron being bitten by a vampire and dying from it. Oh, and the getting busted when going to pick up her new ID for this couple of decades. Um, yeah, so I'm thinking I've read this before.
And it kinda sucks. Like, I'm giggling and I don't think I should be. On the plus side, at least the sex scenes aren't completely horrid and I have no recollection of them at all. Score?
