May. 21st, 2012 12:38 pmIn case you wondered, I have found a new way to cheer myself up. It's not going to be an ongoing thing because it's pretty much a limited time deal, but it is summer movie time which will extend it a little. The happy maker? Brave the cesspool that is ONTD. Find yourself an Avengers party post already well into the insanely high post count.
Enjoy the kind of absolute fangirl love that I rarely see outside of a post by
luxken27. I've become too used to the dark, unhappy side of fandom and don't think it's lost on me that this insanely happy-making fandom is centered around a movie Joss Whedon had a hand in, but ohmylord. The sheer joy. The gifs! Oh, the gifs. I want to save them all. I refuse, but I want to all the same. It's just... beautiful.
You laugh. You snort. You get a little snifflie and then someone posts something that gives you a case of the side-eye and we're back to laughing.
I'd imagine it's annoying as hell for those who either didn't see the movie yet (... go see it! As fun as it'll be on DVD, it's super awesome in the theater) or saw it and didn't like it, or anyone who didn't walk out of the movie loving everyone. That said, it kept me sane.
However it did prompt me to buy a virtual copy of Thor because it was 11pm and nothing was open and I've been trying to wait patiently for Netflix and I could be denied no longer. Which I then waffled about watching and ultimately, when I was banished to the computer to see if I could perform a miracle (couldn't), decided I had waited LONG ENOUGH.
I promptly gave up any and all pretense of not being a Loki fangirl to some degree. Movie!Loki. This, I think, is one case where I still have no real desire to read the comic versions. Which led me to remember there being a Darcy/Loki 'ship despite the whole never sharing a single scene or knowing the other exists annnnnnnd that killed the last two hours of my night.
