Irked. The AG Holiday wishbook is out and people have it in their hot little hands and not a single person has even taken a crappy cellphone pic of the cover. GUYS. This is the WISHBOOK. It's the biggest, best, most sparkly (that's even their THEME this year!) catalog of the year! The one where they actually, I dunno, try to make the stuff look good instead of letting the newborns take the photos!

Why yes, yes I do have a serious case of first world problems.

B-b-but, sparkly! ;_;

I'm hoping mine shows up soon (and that I get one) so I'm not left waiting for someone to take pics or the AG site to update the catalog. They updated everything else but the catalog. o_O

Today's to do list is really short: AG pics!

And finding a way to knock this headache out and keep it gone. This may be more difficult than the pictures, and that involves wrangling nearly a dozen dolls.

Still no real ideas on the MH contest. I've got some barebones ideas, but nothing enough to run with. :/ Work, brain! WORK.

It's 3am. Perfectly reasonable hour to wonder what, exactly, is lurking in Bob's room, AG-wise, right? Right. (As always, Bob is my desk.)

I thought I'd start at the beginning and work my way forward, chronologically speaking in terms of the timeline, not their release. It's easier for me and I'm less likely to inadvertantly forget anyone. I hope.

Also, it begins easily. I don't have Kaya and I have none of her stuff. I do want her, but I've yet to win any of the nifty "win an AG doll!" competitions thus far. One day, maybe?

Which brings us to Felicity.

Felicity and Elizabeth were sent to the great archival in the vault in 2010, surprising quite a few people. I was not one of them, which still gives me more enjoyment to say than I should probably admit to. At the time the only reason I could think of for keeping Felicity was that apparently blonde!Elizabeth sold exceptionally well.

Yeah, two years later we're presented with Caroline so it's pretty easy to see why they figured they could finally be rid of Felicity and sweet, sweet Elizabeth of the Fair would be reincarnated shortly thereafter.

Otherwise, it made far more sense to me for them to keep Molly around. If nothing else, Molly still had the (great)grandparents' votes, the nostalgia factor from when Mom was a kid (one of the original three!), and also the parent off fighting in the war angle. This was my betting strategy for 2010 and it worked quite nicely. I'll admit that I totally hedged my bets and bought some Molly/Emily stuff at the same time, but mostly I went after the Colonial crew.

Sadly, I realized as I shuffled through the remaining pieces in Felicity's collection, most of the things I loved as a kid were retired or changed and thus no longer appealed. Archival/holiday time is not the time to be venturing to ebay for anything other than wishes and hopes because that way lies madness.

And so it begins. )

End Part 1.

And now we look at what this stuff really looks like. If you've got questions, ask away. Not pictured: Lizbeth's bed & bedding, and Felicity's Table & Chairs.

Picture Heavy. Not kidding. Historical Accuracy checked at the door. )
End Part 2.

And thus concludes my spam for the day. (This is also not as cute as [livejournal.com profile] zallia's Halloween post or as nifty creepy as some of the things [livejournal.com profile] luxken27's been sending my way, but I'm halfway there!)

Also, stuff called on account of me somehow borking my finger and it being right where I need it to type with. And it's my middle finger so... awkward? Anyway, things will take longer to respond to (insert joke here) but it will happen! Just... slowly.
