Sep. 2nd, 2013 07:49 amThis morning I was feeling pretty good. I sort of slept in (made it to around 5:30am) and I took the big dog out for walkies. While on said walk I realized the new people have actually parked their pickup (with the trailer attached) on the grass on the far end, effectively screwing up the short-cut unless I felt like taking my chances on the grass (dog poop! Slippery grass in flipflops that were a poor choice of footwear!) and I felt myself age thirty years as I hoped this would not be a normal thing because if so, I really hope they got what-for on it, seeing as I'm still a little vexed that we got what-for for someone else's mess. :P
Anyway, I walk the dog and I don't hurry her along much once we're out of the parking lot, and I come home and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself because one dog walked! And the cat would've been fed but she still had food from what looked to be last night! So I counted the boxes between me and happiness (I don't remember the number) and went to see if I could possibly move this one piece of furniture by myself (no, but I keep thinking I could if I only applied myself properly) and what do I see?
A huge pile of dog poop. Huge.
And on my way back from picking it up and thinking, ever so foolishly to myself, at least she waited to pee til we were outside, yup. My toes found an ice cold puddle to squish.
Ick.
a little while later...
Decided to earn my breakfast and looked in the various boxes near the door. Found that a couple of them actually were mine (oh noes!) so I went through one and found my 4th grade yearbook and the coloring book with various Disney Princesses before that was a big marketing juggernaut. I clearly remember this one being unusual because it had Sleeping Beauty in it and this was the time of her not exactly being forgotten, but you could find Cindy and Snow White on lots of things but Aurora was kind of hiding in the background if she was there at all. Heh, I remember wishing she'd be on more stuff. FF a few years and she's on everything.
I also found my larger BSC dolls. Well. Some of them. I don't recall finding MA or Kristy at all during the move, which is worrisome. I know this box has Stacey and Dawn and it probably has Claudia because I believe one should not have Claud separated from Stacey for long. Which leaves Mal MIA, too. I never had Jessi because I never, ever saw her in stores and any time I remember to look her up on ebay because I have some money, she's going for insane prices. So sometime today I'm going to pretty them up. :)
Now I have one more box to go through for sure. It says books and mags, and I'm pretty sure this means there's actually at least one more box in the LR for me to go through since it's all magazines. But maybe I did that one already? If I'm lucky, I suppose.
Wish me luck! Today's goal, as I need it in print somewhere, is to find the LR as close to completely as is possible in a 12 hour period. Annnnnnd go!
