Dec. 1st, 2013 05:37 pmMy head is killing me. This is most inconvenient seeing as I have a billion things left to do. Oi.
I went into work early last night because one of the ladies who has worked there longer than I have is having a really shitty end of the year (her mother died, her mother-in-law wound up in the hospital, and now her daughter is in ICU, all within a matter of two weeks or so, and this started like... a month ago.) and without her, they're short staffed. I agreed mostly because it felt like it was helping her out, but also so I could leave at 4am. Thing is, they didn't call me about this until around noon so... I got no sleep, really, because I was kinda keyed up.
I thought those extra two hours would be busier but they... weren't. It was funny, because I got there a little early and when I went to relieve the girl up from, she said, "Ugh, I've been up here since seven..." and I eyed the clock where it was 7:58. Sooooo... you've been up here for less than an hour? Rightio, okay. And then she disappeared for the next two and a half hours. Half an hour of that was probably her break but every time I saw her afterwards she was decidedly not working. WTF?
I waffle back and forth on how I feel about her. She made an excellent dessert for Thanksgiving, but she's usually got a snotty attitude by the time I see her so... I dunno. But at least I've seen her work unlike one of the other people, so there's that.
Anyway, came home, watched some MLP and ate some pie before going to bed. When I woke up, I figured I should assemble Widget's advent calendar. Found out I don't have quite enough things to fill the ornaments (well, I do, but I got tired of like 20 days of candy) and one of the pretty blue ones exploded when I tried to open it. It just completely shattered. D: So, I'm down one day. I figure I'll have that be Christmas Eve and just have that appear, all magic-like. Or maybe the 23rd, since that's my last day off before the holiday? I still have to buy whatever that is, too.
DAMMIT. I just spent the last three hours cleaning up and then attempting to clean the carpet with a machine one of Widget's friends lent us. (One of the adults, that is.) Only the machine doesn't work. I sincerely doubt the machine has worked in a very long time, all things considered. Now I'm down on the rug cleaning solution I bought for this (but it never picked up... or did anything with, but it mysteriously disappeared from the tank) and still have to rent a fucking machine but is the boy here with the truck to do this? Nooooooo. Did they do any of this this morning? Nooooooo.
And tonight is the start of Cyber Monday! I have sites to stalk! WTF.
