This past week has kinda sucked. There was the whole starting to get sick on Monday/Tuesday, the Lady situation on Tuesday, and then I got progressively worse throughout the week. Thankfully it never managed to become as bad as the last round of ick, but it was basically a week spent in bed, knowing I had stuff to do but being too sick or too upset to do anything.

Yay.

Then, just as I started to feel better, it was time for our monthly reminder of "yay, not pregnant!" because... that was such a concern? I dunno, so that's made me extra bitchy about things. Plus any get up and go I had just got up and went.

Meh.

Oh, and as a totally useless thing to obsess over (I'm doing that to avoid thinking about the Lady thing because I know I'm gonna cry but I'd rather not do that til I can breathe relatively easily and without needing an entire box of Kleenex just to get to halfway-breathing), the light bulb in my room burned out and the one I replaced it with is off, wattage wise so I need to go and get a proper light bulb. But can't. Which got me obsessing over wanting a lamp, and then I remembered I should really actually friggin' send [livejournal.com profile] zallia her box of stuff before her birthday (not that it's her birthday stuff as that would make too much sense!) and then I wondered if she'd sent my box because that would have my Scentsy Lampshade thing, I think. Which is why the two were connected in my head.

So. This week is looking busy. I'll need a stop at Walmart to pick up my $5 order and to see about light bulbs, maybe a peek at the lamps. I'll also need a post office trip sometime and there was probably something else now that I think about it... Oh, I need to take Widget to find a mattress he likes so that we can order/buy one for his birthday.

Now, if I could only go two minutes without feeling like I was going to pass out this would help tremendously.

Vaguely related, but if you're ever in the market, those Cool Touch Kleenexes? So awesome. They really are cool to the touch and soothe the poor, aggravated nose. They are probably the only reason my nose hasn't turned bright red and totally gross. I highly recommend them, even if they don't have as many in the pack.

Oh, I did OD on Devious Maids last week. Mostly Tuesday before everything went down, and then the last bit Saturday.

Easter itself was spent asleep, like I said, but before that I did bundle up everyone's little Easter bag. I'm a bit woe is me over the fact that no one thought to do the same for me (is this how mothers feel when they make everyone else's baskets and then have to make their own or do without?) but I realize it's not the point and also I enjoyed the hiding of my brother's bag (doesn't mean I can't wait for his ass to finally get the hell out though) and the glee on C&C's faces at work when I handed them tiny little Hello Kitty baskets with a nail polish and an éclair in a jar. (Those blue mason jars are super spiffy.) Still, it would be nice to have someone else be the Easter Bunny or Santa.

Circling back, happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] luxken27! I hope this year brings you all kinds of good surprises. :D

I can now cross both Thelma & Louise and Frozen off the movie bucket list.

Huh. The caffeine hasn't kicked in properly so this will probably make a little less sense than usual. Ah well, one can't have everything.

Watched Frozen this morning, and I will likely give it another whirl tonight since this morning I was in that manic sort of awake where you really should have gone to bed hours ago but didn't for whatever reason and now your brain simply will not shut off.

Which is just to say that I think it's only fair to give the movie another shot when I'm not basically wired.

This isn't to say I didn't enjoy the movie. I did. I think it was cute and the Anna/Elsa relationship might've kicked me in the gut a few times, and I might've started on the watery eyes a little early.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I didn't hate Olaf who looked like he was going to be really friggin' annoying during every ad, trailer, and all the merch he was shoe-horned into and onto. He was actually pretty lowkey and cute and I didn't expect that, so good job, Disney. Good job.

Spoilers ahoy! )

Tangled is still my favorite of the more recent Disney princess movies (and Rapunzel is my disney princess) but I can definitely see why so many people adored Frozen.

I cannot, however, understand why the blue hell Disney can't get a decent handle on the lack of Frozen dolls, though. You guys ain't newbies in this arena and eventually the ever elusiveness of something turns from "thrill of the hunt!" into "fuck you, fuck all of this BS, I'm taking my money and going elsewhere." I'm pretty sure people are rapidly spinning towards that second option because of the boneheaded lack of stock. So all that goodwill you got from making Olaf not suck in the movie you just killed on the merch end. :P
