Get a call from the boy around 11:30ish? Widget's stepass has choked him. Widget called the boy (that's my brother) and the boy talked to Widget's mom and the ass. The ass admits it and the boy calls me to call the cops. He doesn't have her address, you see. Neither do I, but Mom does. Phone tags all around. I call Widget and he doesn't answer.
I call again and get him. Tell him to lay low until the cops appear.
More phone tag.
Widget refuses to leave his mom because the ass might hurt her. I kinda doubt it but when he gets riled up & hangs up I talk to the boy.
Cops appear eventually. Widget is brought home. I have no idea what's going on because I'm still at work.
What. The. Hell.
eta: Home from work at the usual time. Still not sure what started it (the story I was told makes no sense but I guess this isn't really the place to look for logic) but apparently the cops did nothing. Good job, guys. And Widget's little sister (not the youngest) didn't back him up when he was telling his side to the cops. So... I'm guessing, though I don't know, that everyone else in the house played it off as "Widget's a liar, sorry he bothered you" annnnnnnd the cops bought it? Dunno. Letting Widget sleep seemed smarter, especially considering my rage when I found out that the stepass is getting away with it again.
