Sep. 12th, 2016 08:38 amG'ah, yesterday was such a mess at the start and at the finish. The middle wasn't too bad, but it got my hopes up and the universe laughed.
We began with the Widget drama (he still hasn't told me his story and I wasn't waking him up early to ask and then I fell asleep while waiting for him to wake up) and ended with the period from hell. The latter would explain why I've been so friggin' tired all week, but I still could have done without my own personal horror movie scenes.
That killed my ability to decorate for Halloween the way I wanted to. So still, the house remains undecorated beyond my Yankee haul awhile back. :( It feels wrong, but every time I go to rectify it, something comes up to delay it.
Widget's mom stopped by yesterday evening to drop off his stuff he needed for school and I really wanted to be outside with him but mother nature said no. Also, I'm not sure I could trust myself to not say something and Widget will forgive his mother anything but if you say anything to her or comment that maybe she was in the wrong, he will crucify you and never forget it. So I just made sure she didn't have the stepass with her and kept an ear out just in case.
Today I hope to be beyond that and be able to hit Target (both, maybe?) with Mums and maybe Micheal's for Halloween looking. She has to go to her bank which takes me right by both of those and then the way home brings us by the other, so we'll see. We'll see.
Naturally I woke up with my face feeling like someone slammed it into a wall. Freakin' sinuses. Plus my head is feeling a little...swimmy? I don't know how to put it. I'm hoping it's simply that I needed something to eat (check) and something to drink (check) and we'll stabilize.
Walk with the dog and some additional food seem to have helped with the fog in my brain, but the sinuses will need OTC help.
Can we talk AG a little? Might as well since this seems to be a mixed bag sort of post. I don't remember if I mentioned this, but if you have a Costco, keep an eye out for Samantha this fall. She'll be there sometime soon-ish. Also, if you see the Visual Guide and you were interested, they have an Expanded version with some extra pages, some pop-out pets to play with, and a poster on the back of the dust jacket. I'd like to say that if I'd known this was coming I would have waited to buy the book, but I'm not sure I would have. Then again, Cass did go to Costco the weekend after it came out so... enh. I have her on the lookout.
Back to Sam. It seems she's not selling super well (have you seen her collection, AG? You made some unusual choices there) and the Costco deal is leading some to suspect that she's on her way out. I'm inclined to believe it because it's actually in AG's best interests to keep the Out of the Archive girls out for a limited time. It creates just enough urgency that people don't wait too long to snag what they want but it's also not a year and you're done either.
Thing is, someone proposed that AG would double-whammy us with Addy and Samantha going at the same time and honestly? It's kind of brilliant. They'd be able to send Addy to the archive and deflect a lot (not all, because duh) of the "tokenism!" cries because they'd be sending Sam in with her, and to a LOT of people, Sam is still seen as the crown jewel of the company even if she's not actually that anymore. So she's probably the safest way to send Addy off short of, I dunno, making another black doll to keep Melody company. But since it seems very likely we're getting a black GOTY doll and AG definitely seems to be crossing the streams with regards to their various lines... that might be close enough for them.
If you wanted Lea and you've got a Kohl's near you, she'll be there when they do their holiday toys presumably. Hell, for all I know she's there now. I've been to our Kohl's exactly once, I believe, and that was years ago to pick up my Operetta who was exclusive there. I know other people who practically live there, though, so I'm sharing.
To recap: Costco gets Sam, Amazon has Maryellen bundles, Kohl's gets Lea, and TRU has Wellie Wishers and some of them will have TrulyMe.
And now I have to get ready for my Target run. Wish me luck!
