Sep. 14th, 2016 11:56 amSo... another tropical something or other is the cause of all the rain? And yet not a peep from the DJs on the radio on the way to or from work? Wow. Just wow.
It's pouring on and off and so long as we avoid flooding and everyone stays safe, I'm good with that. We still need the rain and it makes sleep easier. The only real downside is that I'm not terribly motivated to brave the shed for my Halloween boxes yet.
I did put up my bats from Target though. Yesterday I spent an hour or so bending the wings and putting the adhesive on them and then positioning them on the wall. Sadly, when I was done I realized I'd managed to start off well but ended kinda meh. Luckily for me, I still have the flocked ones to add so maybe I can get them to spice things up.
I did laugh at myself when I realized that I went from "what am I gonna do with all of these?" to wanting more. :P
Hurry up, payday. Then I can pay my bills and reward myself with the next season of Sisters. We've just run into Charlie and I'm glad to know my memory of the massive difference between original Charlie and series regular isn't just my mind playing tricks on me. Alas, this means that the next season is the one I think I've been dreading. D'oh.
Work finally started setting Halloween beyond candy. And the Jack and Sally lightup lifesize figures (Jack's apparently six feet tall?) appeared. I text Cass as soon as I see them. No word until after 6:30 when I can't really reply without having to be crafty. I take pictures, play with the sound, and answer a million questions. Naturally she wanted them.
Unfortuntely for me, we didn't have any big bags and due to the rain, Mums was running late. So I stood outside in the rain, holding Jack and Sally and looking like a serial killer (and occasionally getting smacked in the face by Jack's huge hand) while I waited. And of course it was a day when all the parking spots up front were filled with people just sitting in their cars. Sigh. I couldn't move my arms because they were too full of bodies that I couldn't exactly put down because I suspect water would be a bad idea.
On the plus side, they rang up with the superior discount and not the usual one. Huzzah!
